Chapter 142 Tilan's End
Chapter 142 Tilan's End
"Isn't it funny that your entire life had been destroyed by one of the Normies you wanted to exploit for the sake of a bit of gold?"
"Isn't it funny that a Normie destroyed your entire business even though you cheated and betrayed the trust of the City Lord?"
"Isn't it funny that your greed is the sole reason for your death?"
"Isn't it funny that I will stay alive, and that I will take everything that belongs to you, whether it is your remaining wealth, your body, and…your Soul?!"
Watching the miserable appearance of Manager Tilan, Zayn felt extremely good. He didn't innately hate the manager and wouldn't have bothered doing anything to him, but Tilan overdid it by gathering hundreds of Blessed to hunt him down.
It was Tilan's fault for provoking him, for breaking the promise with the City Lord by healing the Chimera and killing hundreds of Normies.
The latter was a point Zayn could ignore to a certain extent. The Challengers of the Colosseum participated voluntarily. Nobody had been forced to participate, and it was widely known that almost every challenger died. It was the Normies' fault for jumping straight into danger as well.
Zayn wouldn't have complained if he died either. He knew the danger and accepted it willingly. The only thing that irked him was that the Chimera had mostly been healed and that Manager Tilan spied on him to attack the moment the timing was right.
Manager Tilan's eyes were slowly drained of their last bits of light and life. Zayn stared deep into the miserable figure of the dying manager, feeling not an ounce of regret.
Saber continued to claw the manager's body while Zayn was merely watching into the eyes of the dying man.
"C–Curs—Curse you…!" Manager Tilan said weakly, trying to gather the last bits of strength inside his body to get up and attack Zayn.
As long as he could take the Normie with him, everything would be fine.
What Tilan didn't expect was that the left Dragontale Twin Saber would suddenly pierce through his neck, slicing neatly through it.
Manager Tilan's left hand had almost reached Zayn's foot, something brightly glimmering in his palm.
However, before he could reach Zayn's foot, the strength in his body dispersed and he collapsed to the ground, his body twitched a few times before he stopped moving altogether.
Saber seemed to be dissatisfied with Zayn's action as it growled at him. The Sabertooth Tiger Spirit pounced at him before it turned into a wisp that merged into an empty page inside the Grimoire of the Ancient where the emblem of a Sabertooth Tiger could be seen clearly.
"I wonder what kind of power you possess. If you're worthless, I'll use you as bait in the future!" Zayn declared while staring at Tilan's Soul Wisp with a glint in his eyes.
He was tired and didn't really feel like manifesting another Spirit right now. His mind set extremely sore and he knew that he would have to cope with the worst headache in a long time if he were to manifest Tilan's Spirit.
Unfortunately, he swore to Tilan that he would take everything from him, including his Soul. He wanted to torture the manager a little longer, either way.
That was how Zayn ended up spending the next minute manifesting his second azure-blue Human Spirit. Tilan was a Human Spirit with Superior Talent.
"This fucker was talented? I don't believe this bullshit!" Zayn shouted out loud, shaking his head in denial. He named Tilan, Maman, thinking that he didn't really deserve a proper name. He took the first two letters of Manager and the last three letters from Human, creating Maman, the Spirit who was ought to be used for the worst possible missions!
Zayn didn't use too many ownerless soul particles to manifest the manager's Spirit. That way, he could make sure that his register of Spirits wouldn't start wreaking havoc all of a sudden. Zayn had to stay in charge of his register of Spirits, after all!
Controlling more Spirits would be a little difficult. He could soon start creating the soulframe of his third Soulring but it would require even more soul particles than the first two Soulrings combined.
The more Soulrings one created, the higher the demand for soul particles. Zayn presumed that he would have to absorb more than twenty times the soul particles he needed to create the first and second Soulring. That was not something everyone could do easily, and it was also the reason why highly talented Blessed had a great advantage.
Their Gods provided them with a stronger Blessing, which was equivalent to giving their Blessed stronger powers and the opportunity to accept more difficult System Mission. The higher the difficulty of a System mission the better the rewards.
Some System Missions were difficult enough to reward the Blessed with enough soul particles to fill their entire Soulring in an instant, allowing them to break through immediately!
But even without the System Missions, humans with better talent would have a much easier time. The higher their rank, and the stronger their control of the surrounding soul particles grew, the higher their efficiency to absorb soul particles from the surrounding area.
Zayn didn't really bother about absorbing the surrounding soul particles, but even he would be able to absorb two, or even three soul particles in an hour. If he was very lucky, or in a good environment, he might be able to absorb even more soul particles within an hour.
Being in possession of two Soulrings made this possible!
Hunting a single monster was much faster than that, but one had to take into consideration that the potency of soul particles played a big role as well.
Right now, the soul particles of a Soulringless Goblin Skeleton wouldn't even be comparable to one soul particle of a Soul Knight.
Zayn would have to hunt dozens of Goblin Skeletons to get hold of as many soul particles as he could absorb from the surrounding area in an hour.
He didn't have to kill Goblin Skeletons anymore. That was quite lucky because not even an army in the tens of thousands would make up for the bounty he had obtained just now.
After all, he and his Spirits ended 400 Blessed just now.
As for actually realizing what had just happened, Zayn took quite a while for that.
