Chapter 155 Normie Leader
Chapter 155 Normie Leader
"It's a trap, prepare for battle!" The loud voice of a young man calmly resounded.
The moment the six humans emerged in the clearing, they figured that something was wrong.
Two of them saw the corpse of the Lesser Earth Dragon, and their bodies tensed up. It was only thanks to their leader that they didn't fall prey to panic.
"Don't panic. They're coming!" His voice rang out from behind them, attracting their attention.
Prepared for battle, the six humans got into formation and adjust their stance calmly upon seeing the three Trolls that emerged from different directions.
"Good Job, detecting them, Jeremy!" One of the Blessed praised their leader, Jeremy, with a faint smile on his lips.
The Blessed held his longsword tightly and the Stigma on the back of his right hand began to glow in a fierce red. Blazing flames burst out of the Stigm, mantling the Blessed's right arm and his longsword.
He was burning fiercely and desired to charge forward to face the Troll to his left head-on. However, he didn't move yet. Their leader had yet to give any commands.
Jeremy, the leader of the group, pulled a bow out and nocked an arrow on the bowstring with a small and smooth movement. Soul particles surged from the inside of Jeremy's body and it was not much later until the arrowhead turned golden.
'A Soulblade around an arrowhead?' Zayn thought in slight astonishment from his bird's view above the clearing.
He knew that it was possible to create a Soulblade to mantle arrowheads, but it was much harder than doing the same with an ordinary weapon.
After all, one didn't directly touch the arrow with the whole hand while shooting it. As an archer, it was necessary to grip the bow and bowstring tightly and focus on various things such as the strength of the wind, a smooth movement upon pulling the bowstring, and to aim precisely.
Splitting his mind to insert soul particles in a nocked arrow and manifest the golden mantle around the arrowhead at the same time was certainly not easy, especially not for a young man who had yet to turn 20.
"Mike, you can charge ahead. I will give you three arrows as support before I leave this big guy to you!"
"Miranda use your strength, endurance, and agility enhancement spells on Kevin, while he blocks the Troll in the center until I finished helping out Mike!"
"David, and Leona, go all out immediately. The Troll on the right is not injured and is almost a Soul Lord. Don't underestimate its' prowess!"
Once Jeremy voiced out his orders, the two Blessed Mike and Miranda followed the instructions without a second of hesitation. Miranda's Stigma gleamed royal purple as three big circles formed around her. Waving her staff in front of her, she aimed at the bulky Normie, Kevin, who charged forward, ready to face the five-meter-tall Troll by himself.
Mike dashed forward as well. He issued a slash to release a flaring flame toward the Troll to the left. The flaring flames created a smokescreen, which Mike used to shoot to the right side. At the same moment, a huge wooden club cleaved through the wall of flames.
The wooden club impacted where Mike stood just a moment ago, creating a large dent in the wet soil.
A moment later, a golden arrow had been released. The arrow's velocity was extremely fast. It cut through the air and pierced into the Troll's neck, easily penetrating the highly resilient rough skin.
Enraged and in pain, the Troll roared out loudly. The leaves and plants in the surrounding rustled in response to the enraged roar.
Its attention was pulled over to Jeremy, who released the second arrow. The Troll charged at Jeremy, while covering its head with the other hand, blocking the second arrow. However, by attacking Jeremy in rage, it ignored Mike's existence.
"I am still here, you bastard!" Mike shouted out loud as he appeared to the Troll's right side. He slashed its leg, and cut cleanly through it with a loud sizzling sound that rang through the entire clearing.
The Troll lost balance and fell to the ground where it was unprotected from the third golden arrow that pierced the Troll's eye cleanly.
While the fight between Mike and Jeremy was faring greatly the two other groups didn't have such an easy time. Miranda had given her all to enhance Kevin's strength, but there was a decisive difference in power and weight between an ordinary Soul Knight and a five-meter-tall, and several ton heavy Troll on the verge of becoming a Soul Lord.
Kevin raised his huge shield to block the Troll's attacks and prepare for an opening to initiate a counterattack. However, he quickly noticed that he wouldn't be able to grasp an opening even if one, or multiple ones would appear in front of him. Blocking the attacks of the Troll was not an easy feat. It was already a wonder that Kevin wasn't flung through the air like a baseball.
His feet were rooted on the ground and he had to use both hands to block the terrific attacks the Troll issued with its blunt wooden club.
Dents formed on the heavy shield and it was only a matter of time before the shield would either break, or Kevin's arms would fall off.
He couldn't even feel his arms anymore. They were numb and might as well be damaged by now.
'How much longer do I have to wait?! Are they taking a break, or what?' He cursed in his mind.
Fortunately, he didn't have to endure the onslaught of attack much longer. The attacks stopped as a cold breeze shrouded him and he thought to have heard an arrow surring through the air.
"It was about time that you he–..." Kevin complained loudly, until he realized that there was not an arrow in the head of the Troll, but that an unknown man was standing on top of the Troll.
The stranger wielded two beautiful sabers, which gleamed brightly in warm blood,
"Who…are you?" He asked, while the Troll's head fell to the ground, leaving behind two clean lines where it had been cut.
"Who am I? Just some dude!"
