Chapter 75 Waste Of Time

Chapter 75 Waste Of Time

When Dirk began to move, Zayn twisted his weapons while reinforcing his body by circulating soul particles through his entire body.

He was trying to create a sudden outburst that allowed him to take Dirk by surprise. At first, Zayn was pretty sure that his attack had worked out, just for realization to dawn on him as a sharp pain spread through his right arm. The saber fell out of his hand and the cold and dull wooden blade of the training weapon wielded by Dirk touched his neck.

Sadly, the spar ended before it could actually start. Dirk Hax was a C-rank Adventurer with two Soulrings.

It was only obvious that he was stronger and faster than Zayn, but he was still taken by surprise. Zayn cursed out loud when he comprehended that he had lost and he picked up the saber that fell to the ground.

Rubbing the back of his hand, Zayn realized that this would turn into a bad bruise. He sighed deeply and stored his weapons inside the expanding pouch once again.

"I think it's possible to work on your flaws and technique. Your control of soul particles is great, obviously, since you can create two Soulblades while releasing your soul particles through your feet that shot forward in an explosive manner," Dirk Hax said as he put the wooden training weapon away. The moment he put the weapon away, he saw a small scratch on the back of his hand.

A few droplets of blood trickled down his arm, which took him by surprise. He looked over to the brat who was cursing himself for being weak and useless and he began to wonder what this Normie was capable of doing once trained properly.

"I don't think that we' would work out well together," Zayn said at this moment before he brutally added, "It's a waste of time!"

His blunt words caused Dirk to look over at Zayn with a deep frown on his face. Dirk was just about to thrash Zayn to punch some respect for himself into the Normie brat when he saw the complicated expression on Zayn's face.

"I am pretty sure that you're very compatible with my Sword Style, so why are you looking like a dead fish right now?" Dirk asked after he had regained his composure, which astonished Silas quite a bit.

Silas stared from Dirk to Zayn feeling conflicted. It was known that Dirk hated Normies and weaklings the most. Thus, the current situation was contrary to his expectations. He had expected the worst if he were to be honest with himself.

The short spar was a clear indicator of Dirk's superiority and that he could easily defeat someone like Zayn. Dirk obviously thought of Zayn as someone weak even if it was truly surprising for someone at Zayn's age to be able to create Soulblades and both circulate and release soul particles freely. He was a Normie, after all.

"I think your God's Blessing increases your physical strength drastically. You didn't even use your full strength to attack me but it was more than enough to easily disarm me and defeat me. If you hold back, I won't be able to learn a lot, and I think your Sword Style is focused on rapid movements that are finished off with a killer move, which requires extremely high physical strength, focus, and agility.

I would never be able to learn or master your Sword Style completely even if my movements were to be fast enough. After all, my physical strength was not amplified by your God, whom I presume to be some sort of God of Strength or something along that line."

Zayn's explanation was pretty neat and it hit the bullseye. Dirk's combat technique was granted to him by Taurus, the God who was willing to bless him. Even if Dirk felt that it was a shame, he understood Zayn's reasoning.

It was actually a waste of time to teach Zayn the technique since he would never be able to unleash its true prowess no matter how hard he tried.

"You will have a hard time finding someone with a combat technique that is unrelated to their Gods," Dirk said before he left the courtyard without another backward glance.

He was disappointed, which made him feel miserable because he had just been lectured by a Normie, no less a teenager. Zayn's words were true but that didn't mean that it wasn't impressive how easily the Normie had figured out the essential points of Dirk's technique.

It took him only a single exchange of attacks to understand that the technique used was not suitable for him. That was something Dirk wouldn't be capable of. That was even more reason for him to think that it was a shame.

Meanwhile, as Dirk left just like that, Silas could only mumble to himself in confusion.

"I thought he was in dire need of money. Looks like you hurt his pride," He muttered, but Zayn just shrugged his shoulders.

"I don't run a charity, and I don't have any money to spare either."

? "Furthermore, I doubt that he would take the hard-earned money of an Orphan. His attitude changed a little for the better after I said that I don't have any parents," Zayn added, which was only reaffirmed by Silas' nod.

The two returned inside the Adventurer Hall, where Zayn looked at the listed Adventurers who were willing to teach their combat techniques to eager students. Most were unsuitable for him, leaving only two possibly suitable Adventurers.

"Merlin Kivan lost his right arm due to...certain circumstances. While trying to complete his God's mission to regrow his arm, he created the One-Armed Saber technique. Since his right arm was cut off, more than 90% of his Stigma was cut off. He cannot use the powers of his God anymore, so I would like to recommend him to you.

He should need money as well, which means that it shouldn't matter whether you are a Normie or not. Business is business, after all."

Zayn looked at the list and notes mentioned about Merlin Kivan's personality, his Saber technique, and more.

"This might be worth a try!"
