Chapter 112 The Golden Star Assault
Chapter 112 The Golden Star Assault
The long night had come to an end, the moon fading away with its last dim light, replaced by the bright rays of the sun.
Inside a cave, the Reiki pond had disappeared, and Qin Chen sat cross-legged, his eyes closed.
A few seconds later, a golden aura surged from his body.
Above him, his martial spirit, once resembling a skeleton, slowly transformed. Veins turned into blood vessels, organs took shape, and the figure of a human anatomy emerged.
Qin Chen opened his eyes slowly, a satisfied smile playing on his lips.
He looked up, where his martial spirit had evolved to resemble a human figure. If he continued to progress, he was confident his martial spirit would have a perfect form, just like he had seen in his subconscious sea.
But it wasn't just that which satisfied him; absorbing the Reiki pond had propelled his cultivation rapidly.
Before absorbing the Reiki pond, he was at the second level of the Qi Foundation realm, but after emerging, his cultivation base had dramatically increased to the fifth level. That was a three-level improvement in a short time, something that pleased him immensely.
At this moment, Shen Yulan emerged from the jade.
"How do you feel after absorbing such a massive Reiki?" she inquired.
"I feel a surge in power. I didn't expect a pond could boost my cultivation base so drastically," Qin Chen said in amazement.
"Well, Reiki ponds are extremely rare; that's why their effects are extraordinary," Shen Yulan replied.
Qin Chen nodded, immediately understanding. Then, he jumped up and stood on the ground, his gaze fixed on the beautiful woman with snow-white hair, sitting cross-legged.
"You're done. Now, I want to leave this place," she said.
"Lady, I don't even know your name. Let's introduce ourselves, okay? I'm Qin Chen, and you?" Qin Chen asked.
"Do you think I would tell my name to a lowly human like you?" The woman responded coldly.
But the next moment, her soul trembled, so painfully that it almost made her fall to the ground. She gasped, holding back the pain.
"Looks like you forgot about the blood contract," Qin Chen grinned, crossing his arms.
Hearing this, the woman gritted her teeth, extremely annoyed with Qin Chen.
"Fine, I'll tell you. My name is Li Yan," she said.
"Li Yan, huh? What a beautiful name," Qin Chen nodded, smiling. "So, where are you from, and why were you in that coffin?" he asked.
Li Yan was genuinely annoyed, but she had no choice but to answer, "I'm from—" her voice trailed off; she didn't remember anything about her origin or how she ended up here.
"I don't know. I don't remember anything," she said.
"Lady Li Yan, you know the consequences if you don't tell me, right?" Qin Chen grinned.
"I really don't remember anything. It's like... I suddenly appeared here," Li Yan replied, furrowing her brow as she held her head.
Qin Chen seemed skeptical of her words, but Shen Yulan believed her.
"Qin Chen, Li Yan is speaking truthfully. The blood contract would react if she lied, but since it didn't react, her words are true. Perhaps she genuinely lost her memory or something," she explained.
Hearing this, Qin Chen nodded, "I see. Well, if she's speaking truthfully, I don't need to ask anymore. Let's get out of this place," Qin Chen said, a grin playing on his lips.
Shen Yulan went back into the jade, and with that, Qin Chen and Li Yan walked out of the cave.
---
After overcoming several obstacles on the way out of the cave, they both finally managed to exit. They were immediately greeted by the morning sunlight.
"Where are you going? Just so you know, brat, if you attempt anything vile with me, I'd prefer to die," Li Yan said coldly.
Qin Chen merely smiled, "Do I look like a criminal? I won't do that," he replied.
"You'd better keep your word," Li Yan warned.
"You can trust my word, Lady Li Yan," Qin Chen smiled. "But right now, I want to go straight to the Wudang Sect. Do you have a faster way?" he asked.
Although reluctant, Li Yan agreed to Qin Chen's request. She flicked her fingers, and two intangible swords appeared before her.
"With these, you can fly swiftly," she said.
Qin Chen was amazed by the two intangible swords. He mounted them, and sure enough, they levitated above the ground.
"This is amazing. What cultivation realm are you in, Lady Li Yan?" he asked curiously.
"Golden Core," Li Yan responded.
Qin Chen nodded; it wasn't surprising she was very strong; their gap was three realms apart.
"Alright, let's go to the Wudang Sect!" he said.
Li Yan mounted the intangible swords, and the two of them flew straight towards the Wudang Sect.
Qin Chen was exhilarated. Fortunately, he hadn't absorbed the Reiki pond for too long, so he still had time to participate in the destruction of the Golden Star Sect.
Of course, he was after the Heartblade of Guo Jian. And with it, he would meet Li Yue'er.
Her beautiful face and caring nature made him miss her deeply. The mere thought of her was enough to compel him to do anything to be by her side.
---------------
In just half an hour, Qin Chen and Li Yan arrived at the Wudang Sect area. Below them, a multitude of people had gathered, their purpose clear: the planned destruction of the Golden Star Sect was set to unfold today.
They both touched down near a substantial structure designated for the assembly.
Qin Chen scanned the surroundings, noting the determined faces of those prepared for battle.
At that moment, he spotted Shi Huang engaged in conversation with a middle-aged man. Qin Chen decided to approach.
Shi Huang, noticing his presence, greeted him, "Ah, Qin Chen, it's been a few days. Where have you been?"
"I've been training in seclusion, Master Shi. By the way, is the assault commencing today?" Qin Chen inquired.
"Yes, our forces are ready. Tonight, the assault will unfold," Shi Huang confirmed.
A surge of excitement coursed through Qin Chen, but he kept his emotions in check.
"Master Shi, I request permission to participate in the attack," he earnestly requested.
Shi Huang raised an eyebrow, offering a word of caution, "Are you certain? It could be exceedingly perilous."
"Yes, Master Shi. I eagerly anticipate this assault. I believe the experience will strengthen me," Qin Chen affirmed.
"Very well, if you are willing, then you may join," Shi Huang consented.
A sense of gratitude washed over Qin Chen. He bowed respectfully, expressing his gratitude, "Thank you, Master Shi."
Shi Huang waved it off, saying, "No problem. Now, you may proceed. I have pressing matters to attend to."
"Of course," Qin Chen replied before making his way elsewhere.
As Qin Chen departed, Shi Huang resumed his discussion with the middle-aged man, Yu Zhong, the empire's representative.
"The enthusiasm of the younger generation is truly commendable. And it appears you hold him in high regard," Yu Zhong remarked.
"One could say he is the linchpin—whether he will elevate my sect or have the opposite effect remains to be seen," Shi Huang responded.
"Well, only time will reveal the truth. But seeing your regard for him, I'm confident he will bring a bright future for Wudang sect," Yu Zhong said.
Shi Huang merely smiled, hoping that Yu Zhong's words would prove to be true.
