Chapter 128 Love and Loss
The sun transformed the chilly night into a warm day, marking the end of the night's tranquility.
Inside the villa, in the bed, Long Tian woke up, feeling the comforting warmth enveloping his body. He glanced to his side, finding Li Yue'er still wrapped in his arms, already awake. A gentle smile graced his lips as he shifted to face her.
His fingers traced the contours of Li Yue'er's face tenderly. "How are you feeling?" he inquired.
Li Yue'er remained silent, her gaze a mix of emotions.
"Long Tian, I know I might not be your only woman. But I hope, at least, I hold a place in your heart. After all you've done for me, I can't be selfish. I... I just want to continue being with you," she confessed, her voice filled with hope.
Long Tian's expression softened, his fingers gently tousling Li Yue'er's hair. "I will never leave you, and you will always have a place in my heart," he assured her, his tone filled with sincerity.
A genuine smile lit up Li Yue'er's face, her cheeks tinted with a rosy hue. She hugged Long Tian tightly. "I'm so happy, Long Tian," she confessed, her joy evident in her voice.
Long Tian reciprocated the hug, his touch providing a sense of reassurance.
In Li Yue'er's mind, there's no Qin Chen anymore.
-------------
As the sun ascended higher, the air grew warmer. In the villa's dining area, Li Yue'er and Long Tian shared breakfast together. Both dressed casually, embracing the relaxed ambiance of Sunday, a day off from school.
"What are your plans for today, Long Tian?" Li Yue'er inquired.
"Hmmm, I might pay a visit to the Wudang sect," Long Tian replied.
Li Yue'er nodded, "I see. I have plans to spend time with my friends as well," she revealed.
"That sounds good. Training hard is essential, but relaxation and peace are equally important," Long Tian commented.
Li Yue'er nodded in agreement, and they continued with their meal.
All the dishes on the table had been enhanced by Li Yue'er's martial spirit, the World Tree, making them exceptionally nourishing.
-------------
After savoring a delightful breakfast, Long Tian changed into more suitable attire, still maintaining a casual aura.
Stepping out of the villa, he was greeted by Ling Han standing beside the warmed-up car.
"Are you ready, young master?" Ling Han inquired.
"Let's go," Long Tian responded.
Ling Han nodded, and with that, both of them entered the car, setting off toward the Wudang sect.
--------------
Meanwhile, inside the Wudang sect area itself, atop the fourth mountain peak...
Qin Chen sat beneath a cascading waterfall in meditation. Han Yuan stood behind him, channeling blue energy that Qin Chen absorbed into his being.
After a few moments, Qin Chen opened his eyes, his expression reflecting a mix of gratitude and remorse. He stood up, distancing himself from the waterfall.
His eyes turned to Han Yuan, his voice filled with genuine regret. "Thank you, Elder Han. I also apologize for disregarding your advice," he said.
Han Yuan gently patted his shoulder, offering reassurance. "Every person makes mistakes; I understand that well. May this experience serve as a lesson and enlighten you about the risks and consequences of pursuing someone who may not reciprocate your feelings," he said empathetically.
A genuine smile graced Qin Chen's lips as he hugged Han Yuan. "Thank you, Elder Han; your kindness will never be forgotten," he expressed sincerely.
Han Yuan reciprocated the smile, patting Qin Chen's back. He carried a heavy sense of responsibility, especially after hearing directly from Qin Chen that the Heartblade had fallen into Long Tian's hands, and Li Yue'er had chosen Long Tian as well.
As someone indebted to the Qin family, he felt compelled to offer unwavering support to Qin Chen.
-------------
Qin Chen and Han Yuan walked back together toward the main sect area.
During their walk, Qin Chen couldn't help but think of Li Yue'er. He was still bewildered, struggling to comprehend how she could betray him.
Although he tried his best to forget her, her image persisted in his mind, haunting him.
His resentment toward Long Tian intensified, reaching an all-time high. Given the opportunity, he would not hesitate to eliminate him.
Upon reaching the main area, their steps came to an abrupt halt, both Qin Chen and Han Yuan.
From a distance, they spotted that familiar face, that detested visage... Long Tian, casually strolling around the sect area.
Anger and animosity welled up inside Qin Chen, visible in his clenched fists and pulsating veins.
The man who had stolen Li Yue'er was within his reach!
On the other hand, Han Yuan also noticed Long Tian. He swiftly positioned himself in front of Qin Chen.
"Listen, Qin Chen. Don't act rashly and let anger control you. At the moment, you are not strong enough to confront Long Tian and his family. Remember your grand ambitions? To annihilate the Meng and Long families? Do not let your anger sway you easily; didn't you promise me not to be impulsive anymore?" he advised, his voice laden with seriousness.
Hearing these words, Qin Chen felt a modicum of calmness wash over him; his hands relaxed, and his veins subsided.
He took a deep, steadying breath, exhaling slowly.
"Thank you, Elder Han. You're right; I must grow stronger and temper my impulsive nature," he said, expressing his gratitude sincerely.
Han Yuan smiled approvingly. "Good, shall we continue with your training?" he proposed.
"Okay, elder Han," Qin Chen nodded.
---------------
Meanwhile, Long Tian sauntered through the bustling main area of the Wudang sect. This expansive space resembled a city, teeming with disciples and cultivators going about their activities.
At that moment, Ling Han by his side noticed something amiss. "Young master, there seems to be a familiar aura here," he observed.
Long Tian raised an eyebrow. "Who?" he asked.
As Ling Han was about to respond, a middle-aged man suddenly landed in front of him. Clad in military attire with a white fur coat, exuding authority and confidence.
Seeing this, Long Tian could recognize the man immediately. He was one of the generals of the Han Empire and also his uncle, Long Xuan.
"It's been a while, kid. What brings you here?" Long Xuan inquired, a faint smile gracing his lips.
"Just taking a stroll, and perhaps testing out some techniques here," Long Tian responded, his tone calm.
Long Xuan nodded. "I heard Shi Huang bestowed an honor upon you. I suppose that's why you're here. Care to join me, kid?" he offered.
"Where to?" Long Tian asked.
"To the main hall. My visit here pertains to the missing Heartblade of Guo Jian. Since Yu Zhong is under my command, I feel responsible for this matter," Long Xuan explained.
Upon hearing this, a thin, satisfied grin formed on Long Tian's face. Although he maintained a composed expression, inside, he was elated. Long Xuan's presence here was a stroke of luck, aligning perfectly with his plans.
But first, he needed to locate Qin Chen.
"Hey, don't dawdle, kid," Long Xuan called out.
Those words snapped Long Tian back to reality. "Oh, I'm sorry, uncle; I just wanted to take a walk here," he said.
Long Xuan nodded, "Alright, see you later, kid," he said.
With that, he turned around and walked away.
Long Tian also moved to another location.
However, Ling Han couldn't contain his curiosity. "Young master, what if Long Xuan finds out that you are the one who has the Heartblade? Although I'm sure it won't cause serious consequences, still, the imperial side won't just sit idly," he said.
"Don't worry about it, Uncle Ling, everything is under control," Long Tian grinned.
