Chapter 60 Fighting and Strength-testing Trials
"Once again, that bastard! If I don't act now, he'll surely snatch Liu Qian from me! I need to follow them!" Ye Chen exclaimed with frustration.
Without further hesitation, he spun around and dashed toward a car. He hopped inside immediately, finding Xiao Lin behind the steering wheel.
"Xiao Lin, it's true, it's Long Tian. We have to follow them!" Ye Chen's urgency was palpable.
"Let's go," Xiao Lin nodded determinedly and pressed the gas pedal, propelling them away from the school grounds.
He stole quick glances at Ye Chen, noticing the mix of anxiety and anger on his face.
"Man, why not just end things with Liu Qian? She's clearly more than friends with Long Tian. It's a red flag, don't you see it?" Xiao Lin voiced his concerns.
"I can't do that. I've loved her for three years, and now that she's finally accepted my feelings, I can't just give up. Plus, I trust Liu Qian wouldn't cheat on me," Ye Chen defended his position, attempting to reassure himself.
Xiao Lin sighed and shook his head. This was precisely why he avoided falling in love with someone. Sometimes, the hurdles were just too tough to overcome.
It was right there beside him—a case in point. Ye Chen was blinded by love to the extent that he couldn't perceive the imminent danger.
"Xiao Lin, can you step on it a bit more?" Ye Chen urged.
"Sure thing," Xiao Lin acknowledged, accelerating.
However, after ramping up the speed, Long Tian's car remained elusive. Especially at night, the cars on the road were like shadows.
After over ten minutes, Xiao Lin eased off the gas. "Looks like they're gone, Ye Chen. Have you tried calling her?" he suggested.
"Great idea, I can't believe I didn't think of that earlier," Ye Chen said, pulling out his smartphone and dialing Liu Qian's number.
A series of beeps indicated the call was connected to call but unanswered. Ye Chen exercised patience.
Yet, minutes ticked by, and Liu Qian remained unresponsive. He sighed heavily, "Seems like she's still upset about this morning. I was a bit harsh," he confessed.
Xiao Lin refrained from responding. He had little to offer in terms of words to Ye Chen. Moreover, he felt it was a futile endeavor, given Ye Chen's love-blinded state.

Meanwhile, inside the car...
"Why didn't you pick up that call?" Long Tian raised one of his eyebrows.
"Just some annoying person, not important," Liu Qian dismissed with irritation evident in her tone. e
"Alright, I won't pry," Long Tian nodded, offering a thin smile.
With that, he pressed the gas pedal, accelerating. Tonight, he was headed to the Tianjia Pavilion in Tianzhou.
His objective wasn't a meal or any other form of entertainment. Instead, he sought herbal ingredients to heal Li Yue'er.
***************
After more than ten minutes, they reached their destination: the Tianjia Pavilion. It wasn't far from Tianzhou High School.
Long Tian and Liu Qian exited the car, standing before an oriental building resembling a temple, five stories tall, not far away.
Despite its grandeur and spaciousness, the exterior parking area was filled with luxury cars, a testament to the establishment's opulence.
"Is this the Tianjia Pavilion? It's so grand. What's our plan here?" Liu Qian inquired, genuinely curious.
"You'll find out as soon as we step inside. Let's go," Long Tian said, leading the way toward the pavilion's entrance.
The area in front of the Tianjia Pavilion bustled with passersby, mostly young cultivators around Long Tian's age.
Once inside, an unexpected scene unfolded before them. Though unassuming from the outside, the interior of the Tianjia Pavilion proved remarkably expansive.
Within its walls were diverse establishments—bars, nightclubs, restaurants, and various forms of entertainment. But one attraction seized everyone's attention—the combat arena.
Ten battle arenas hosted captivating displays, drawing crowds to each spectacle.
Long Tian and Liu Qian ventured closer, their attention captured by one particular arena where two youths of their age engaged in combat.
"This place is a haven for fighters. Every day, hundreds battle within these arenas," Long Tian noted.
"Are you considering joining the fights?" Liu Qian queried.
"No, I have something else in mind. Let's head elsewhere," Long Tian suggested, leading the way to another area.
Liu Qian followed Long Tian until they reached a peculiar section. An arena-like setting contained a massive stone, towering like a grown man in the middle. Many people gathered outside the arena, their focus directed at this spectacle.
In that precise moment, a young man unleashed a resounding strike upon the stone.
Bang!
The impact reverberated through the stone, and mere seconds later, a number illuminated the overhead display: [Strength: 1130kg]
The young man's face lit up, and in the blink of an eye, he levitated, ascending to the second floor.
Spectators marveled at this display.
"Wow, he actually floated to the second floor. Each time I witness this, I'm left in awe."
"Of course, with a punch exceeding 1000kg, he's clearly qualified for the second floor."
"Look, someone else is giving it a try."
Conversations buzzed, discussing those who tested their strength.
"Will you give it a shot? It seems that reaching a certain strength level will propel you upwards," Liu Qian proposed.
"Yes, I need to reach the fifth floor to find what I'm after. Will you come too?" Long Tian inquired.
After a brief moment of contemplation, Liu Qian reached her decision. "I think I'll join the fighting arena."
"Join the fighting arena? Are you sure?" Long Tian raised an eyebrow.
"Absolutely. Seeing that arena has me feeling a sudden urge to fight," Liu Qian answered, a smile lighting up her face.
"Alright then, best of luck," Long Tian acknowledged with a nod.
With that, he strode toward the strength-testing arena, while Liu Qian eagerly immersed herself in the ongoing battles.
Long Tian radiated confidence; his aim was the elusive fifth floor, a height no one had reached thus far. Moreover, he held a deep-seated curiosity about the true extent of his physical strength.
