Chapter 141: A Formidable Monster

?

Alister's eyes widened slightly as he heard the latest system notification.

'Group summoning? Multiple dragons at once?' he thought, a touch of surprise and curiosity in his mind. The concept reminded him of the dragon riders from his memory in Kaelan's body.

'But then... Am I going to need riders to control them?'

[Negative, all lesser dragons summoned will follow the player's orders without the need for a rider.]

'Is that so... seems I don't have anything to worry about then.' he thought, pushing the concern aside and refocusing on the battlefield before him.

Cinder and Darven continued their attacks on the monsters, each strike more powerful than the last. The ground trembled beneath their feet, and the valley echoed with the sounds of their destruction.

Cinder took the lead, her crimson eyes narrowing as she spotted a group of magma ogres charging toward them. Their cracked, stone-like skin glowed with internal heat, and they roared in defiance, unaware of the doom awaiting them.

THOOM!

Cinder's tail lashed out, slamming into the nearest ogre with such force that the creature was hurled into the air. It flew several meters before crashing into a pointed rock, the impact shattering its body into smoldering fragments.

The other ogres paused momentarily, but Cinder showed no mercy. She inhaled deeply, then unleashed another torrent of flames, sweeping it across the valley floor.

The fire roared as it consumed the ogres, their skin cracking further under the intense heat before they collapsed. The surrounding rocks glowed red-hot, and the very earth was scorched black by Cinder's flames.

Meanwhile, Darven focused on the more agile monsters-like the wyrm-like lizards and shadow hounds-darting between rocks, trying to evade his attacks. His eyes gleamed as he calculated their movements, his maw crackling with lightning.

A bolt of lightning erupted from Darven's maw, striking a wyrm-like lizard mid-slither. The creature's segmented body stiffened as the lightning coursed through it, its jagged scales bursting apart with a sizzling crack. The monster's death cries were short-lived, its body slumping to the ground in a smoking heap.

The lightning didn't stop there. It jumped from the wyrm to a pack of shadow hounds, which yelped in agony as they tried to flee.

One by one, they were struck down, their bodies vibrating violently before collapsing in lifeless heaps. The ground beneath them smoldered, and the scent of burnt fur filled the air.

Cinder, not to be outdone, spotted a massive insectoid creature scuttling away. Its chitinous armor gleamed in the dim light as it desperately tried to burrow into the ground. But Cinder was faster.

WHOOSH!

Her massive tail swung down like a battering ram, smashing into the insectoid with a sickening

BOOM!

The creature's body shattered under the impact, blood splattering across the valley floor as its limbs twitched briefly before going still.

Darven's claws tore into the ground as he advanced, crushing anything unfortunate enough to be caught underfoot.

A group of shadow hounds made the mistake of trying to dart between his legs, but Darven's massive claws came down with a bone-shattering

THUD!

Reducing the creatures to nothing more than bloody smears on the hot, rocky ground.

As Alister observed the carnage, he felt a strange sense of satisfaction. His dragons were performing flawlessly, each attack destroying their enemies and leaving nothing but destruction in their wake. Yet, the battlefield remained filled with monsters, more emerging from the depths of the valley.

"We're not done yet."

"Keep up the pressure, Cinder. Darven."

"Understood, my lord," they replied.

Cinder's next target was a group of magma ogres that had banded together, their roars echoing through the valley as they charged forward.

They had gotten bold, believing they could stand a chance.

But Cinder was ready. She reared back, flames swirling around her as she unleashed a concentrated stream of fire.

The flames cut through the air, striking the ogres head-on. Their stone-like skin glowed briefly before they fell to their knees.

Darven unleashed a torrent of electricity, crackling bolts surging from his maw. The lightning streaked across the valley, striking down more shadow wolves and Dreadstalkers.

But just as Darven prepared to strike again, a massive boom echoed through the valley. The sound was so powerful it caused the very ground to tremble beneath them. Dust and debris exploded into the air, creating a thick cloud that momentarily obscured everything from view. Alister, standing tall on Darven's head, felt the force of the explosion vibrate through his entire body. He instinctively raised one hand to shield his face from the flying debris, his other hand gripping tightly to a scale on Darven's head for stability. His hair fluttered violently in the wind, like a banner caught in a storm.

Cinder, positioned nearby, tensed. She instinctively took a defensive stance, her massive wings flaring out to shield her body as if preparing for a powerful attack.

Alister could sense the shift in the air, the sudden seriousness of his dragons.

'This monster... Seems strong,' he thought.

As the dust slowly began to settle, Alister's sharp eyes pierced through the lingering haze. His eyes widened slightly at what he saw.

'A giant class...'

...

Back with Ren and his team...

Ren and his team advanced through the scorching terrain, the blistering heat sapping their strength with each step.

The air was thick, almost suffocating, and the ground beneath them felt like it was on the verge of melting, as small bursts of molten lava erupted from time to time, forcing them to

dodge and adjust their pace constantly.

Sweat dripped down Ren's face, but he kept his eyes forward, focused on leading his team through the nearly endless onslaught of Night Reavers.

"Stay sharp, everyone! We're almost through this!"

Ren called out, his voice steady despite the exhaustion creeping into his limbs.

Goro, wielding his battle axe, grunted as he cleaved through another Night Reaver, the

creature's dark blood splattering across the earth.

His shoulders heaved with the effort, but he pushed forward, his muscles bulging with each

powerful swing.
