Chapter 112 Fourth Stage
Chapter 112 Fourth Stage
?
The process started early in the morning. All that I needed to do was circulate my own energy around their body for one complete cycle before they would gain a sudden burst of power, rising to the 8th level.
Of course, I also activated their systems, but only those who were included in the list that Guren prepared yesterday.
Unlike when I passed Administrator Privileges to God Zeshion before, activating the taming system only required skin contact. Thanks to that, it wasn't too awkward to activate the system for thousands of guys and only a few girls.
After 10 hours of endless processing, I only managed to complete one-fifth of the total number of 7th-stage tamers of the Seimei.
Guren already scheduled them across five days, so honestly, I was thankful that I could get some rest. When I returned to the room, Ember and Fang were already starting to consume the essence crystals that they had gotten.
Now that they're at the 3rd stage, it's easier for them to digest the energy inside the crystals, increasing the efficiency of absorption.
I could clearly see how the energy inside them increased gradually as they absorbed one essence crystal after another. They were definitely getting stronger and stronger as they continued absorbing the essence crystals.
Soon, evening came, and we had a short dinner meeting with a few family heads. Taking advantage of the situation, I activated their taming system and unlocked their meridians to reach the 8th stage.
With all the support I gave Guren's allies, the disparity in power between the two sides spread wider and wider at a rapid pace.
The next day, the same schedule was followed.
I helped the 7th-stage tamers reach the 8th stage the whole day, while Fang and Ember busied themselves with increasing their power. Igni, who was nearing the end of her contract with me, was getting anxious.
Before dinner that day, the two finally reached the required energy level to evolve. However, reaching the 4th stage is a large hurdle.
The taming system would determine, based on their past achievements, a title for them as a 4th stage. Usually, only 1 out of 10 monsters succeeds in overcoming the 4th stage on their first try. However, given how powerful these two are and how true they are to their specialization, it didn't even take them a minute to complete their evolution.
A bright flash of light appeared and stayed for a few seconds. Within the light, I could see the energy inside Fang and Ember get purified and then realigned to their attributes before slowly fading.
Due to their evolution, a few of their skills became mastered and were passed on to me. However, the only ones that I could use were the [Storage] from Ember and the [Shadow Skip] from Fang.
I quickly tried out [Storage], and I was able to quickly open a black hole in the space before me. I tried placing a random vase from the room inside before closing it. Then, after a few seconds, I opened [Storage] again and got the item back.
It wasn't damaged in any way, so I could be relieved that there was no danger of losing my items that I will store inside.
I also tried [Shadow Skip], and was kind of enamored with it. When I use it, I kind of recall a similar skill in one of the animes I've watched in the past. Something called flash step (shunpo). Though instead of a light effect, it was a murky shadow that was left behind every time I moved with it.
"This is interesting... And it's faster and lighter to use than [Shadow Movement]!"
I praised the skill, which sent Fang into a wide grin. Her tail was wagging energetically.
"I'm happy that Leader liked my skill!"
She said this as he pounced on me, giving me a tight hug. As I was patting her head, I used the appraisal function and was surprised by her title. Fang was now the [Baroness of Shadowless Death] which sounds very intimidating.
Appearance-wise, Fang remained mostly unchanged. The only difference I noticed was her eyes, which turned bloody red.
As I was wondering just how much Fang had changed, I turned to Ember, who was silent for a while.
"Ember... became a real humanoid?!"
I was shocked. Usually, slimes would still be slimes no matter how they tried. Even if they do gain a humanoid appearance, the substance of their body remains the same.
But the Ember before me right now is definitely human, not only in appearance but also in substance.
Ember herself was looking at her hands in confusion, as if she didn't expect such radical changes to occur. However, when she turned to me, her face beamed with a smile. She, just like Fang, jumped into my embrace while showing a blissful expression.
"I did it, master! Now, I'm just like you!"
She cheered as tears of joy fell from her eyes. I guess her not being a true humanoid was putting a toll on her psyche, but I never noticed. I patted her head as I tried to appraise her new race. Ember earned the title of [Baroness of Infinite Changes] which was so abstract and full of possibilities.
"Congratulations, you two."
I praised my two tamed beasts as they tightened their hug. Yep, they definitely got stronger. Despite the feedback that I got, my body was creaking in pain from their hold.
A minute later, the two of them calmed down and let go. I sighed as I patted my chest, checking if I had a broken rib. Luckily, I was fine.
I turned to Igni, who had been fidgeting since earlier. The tip of her tail kept tapping the ground, showing her unconcealable excitement.
"Igni, it's time for me to do a proper contract with you."
I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. I quickly formed the contract's contents, similar to Ember and Fang's. Then I sent it straight to Igni, who was waiting in anticipation.
Without wasting any time digesting the contract, she immediately approved of it. A brief flash of white light appeared, signifying the completion of the contract.
Along with it, a large amount of information flooded my brain... It was the skills that Igni had.
