Chapter 194 Truth Of The Bloodlines (4)
?
Tres continued his story. About how he and Blanc spent a peaceful century together and managed to even have two sons and three daughters.
"But then, the singularity finally came."
Tres sighed deeply.
"It was supposed to come hundreds of years later, but it came earlier even when compared to Second's time."
After that, the entire world tried to fight against the Singularity. However, as quickly as it appeared, only the God Tamers remained standing before they could even arm themselves.
"With me and Blanc supporting the other God tamers, we managed to fight against the Singularity. With Brother Mountain's experience as a reference, we managed to struggle against it with a decent chance to win. However..."
Before he could continue, Primo took over and muttered.
"The Singularity got stronger. Not only was it coming earlier for each loop, but it was also becoming more powerful every time. Tres and the others couldn't last long and fell."
Tres nodded his head with a sad smile.
"I told Blanc about my past regressions, and she also knew that I was planning to send my soul to the past in case we failed to subdue the Singularity..."
He stretched his right arm forward as if trying to catch something in the air.
"She protected me while I cast the Secret Technique of the Seimei. I still can't forget her sweet, tearful expression and sad smile as she saw me off, even as half of her body was already disintegrated."
"..."
Primo ended his life in solitude, Brother Mountain in regret, and now Tres died while being sent off by his wife. Although it seems like an improvement, everything still ended with their deaths.
I turned to the fourth, Death, who was leaning on his chair with a bitter expression. Seeing my gaze, Primo awkwardly muttered from the side.
"Ah, sorry, but Death's experience wouldn't be relevant."
He said apologetically.
"Like Tres, he was affected by our regression too... And he turned to the Demon Tamers and worked with Noir to take over the world."
"He WHAT?!"
I turned to the irritable-looking version of myself. I guess he does give off a villainous vibe, but he should still be the same as the others in essence.
"How the hell did that happen?"
Primo scratched his cheek awkwardly.
"Well, since we realized that the Singularity occurs faster and stronger every loop, we tried to talk to him while he was at the 6th stage. Then... He thought he was going crazy and turned to Noir to help him remove us from his head."
"... Understandable, but why Noir?"
Brother Second answered with a matter-of-fact tone.
"That's because Noir possesses Void, Shadow, and Dark elements. Those three combined can interfere with souls."
Now that's some new information for me.
"Doesn't that make him dangerous...? Oh."
As I was talking, I realized why he was imprisoned in the first place. It wasn't only because of the sins he committed but also because of the danger he posed to the entire world.
'Ember has a void element too, and Fang possesses both Dark and Shadow elements... Does this mean I have the capacity to interfere with souls too?'
"My bad, but it's not possible for you to do that yet."
Primo muttered with a frown, shaking his head lightly.
"Soul manipulation is only available to those who have reached the God stage. You're still far from reaching that level."
Am I really that easy to read? I keep feeling that everybody knows what I'm thinking even without saying it.
"It shows on your face after all; it's pretty obvious."
Brother Mountain added as he shrugged his shoulders. I touched my face, wondering what they meant. However, the rest of them just sighed and let the topic slip away.
Primo continued.
"Anyways, Death is also the shortest loop, lasting only a decade. Then, before even reaching god level or even seeing the singularity, he died."
"Hey! Stop saying it like I'm a failure! If you oldies just worked harder at convincing me, I might've had a different future!"
Death shouted in anger, but Primo just glanced at him and continued, ignoring his petition.
"In the end, the three of us worked hard and spent half of our soul energy to cast the Secret Technique. Without that, we would've ended then and there."
The three sighed simultaneously as they peeked at Death, still groaning in embarrassment and anger.
"Luckily, the last one, Mr. Invincible (LoL), was pretty stable compared to the others."
"Hey, what's with the LoL part? I am Invincible!"
The fifth regression, Mr. Invincible, quickly rebutted Primo's words. However, his next words were on point; it was undeniable.
"Then why did you die, Mr. Invincible?"
"I just wasn't strong enough, that's all!"
Primo just smiled at his childish response. Although it was true that if he was Invincible, then he shouldn't have died in the first place.
"Anyway, let me recount my story myself!"
He stood up and cleared his throat. Then he recounted his story with exaggerated movements and acting, as if he were part of a performer's troupe or something.
In the end, his life could be summarized in three words: "Endless Skill training."
He tamed every monster he encountered that had a skill he didn't know. He tamed hundreds to thousands of them, which were magnitudes higher than the rest. It didn't take him long before he was already stronger than a God-tamer, despite not having a God-level tamed beast or monster at all.
"During my loop, the Singularity occurred right as I turned fifty. But with how powerful I am, I managed to beat it back."
I nodded my head. Similar to Brother Mountain, he too was able to stop the Singularity. I looked at him and waited for the continuation.
"..."
"..."
But only silence ensued.
"Is that it?"
In the end, I couldn't help but ask. Mr. Invincible nodded his head firmly, saying, "That's all!"
"What do you mean that's all? You forgot the part that after clearing the Singularity, every other God-tamer focused on killing you off as they deemed you a threat. That's what you get for not denying the claims that you are a Demon Tamer!"
"I regret nothing! I fought with all I had and was defeated! That's all!"
"And you forced us to use our last bit of power just to return to the past! You SHOULD regret what you did, idiot!"
Hearing Primo's words, I had the sudden urge to facepalm. But still, I was amazed at this guy. He got so powerful that he could fight all the other God-tamers without even reaching the God level himself.
If that's not amazing, I don't know what is.
After listening to all their stories, I noticed that they all had one similarity across all instances.
"You all... Didn't have an activated system?"
