Chapter 159

Maurice stopped.

He turned around and stared coldly at Eliana.

“Do you think I’m that stupid to ask Corbin to kill Hodge?”

“Now that Corbin is in a coma, you can say whatever you want,” Eliana sneered.

“Is that how you see me?”

Maurice couldn’t contain his anger. He moved forward and grabbed Eliana’s arm, only to discover that her body temperature was not normal.

Eliana’s temperature was unusually high.

“You have a fever?”

Maurice frowned, and his anger disappeared in an instant.

“So what? It’s none of your concern. Let go of me!” novelbin

Eliana fought valiantly, but she was dizzy. She didn’t have enough strength to slip from Maurice’s hold.

After a few moments, she felt that Maurice was already lifting her.

“Maurice, what the hell are you doing?” Eliana struggled. “Put me down!”

Maurice looked down at the frail woman in his arms. “Be quiet. If you are certain that I am your enemy, you should take care of yourself first. Only when you live longer will you be able to exact your revenge on me.”

“You’re insane!”

Eliana was very annoyed. She bit Maurice on the neck.

Eliana showed no mercy to him. She didn’t stop, even when she had already tasted blood.

“Ouch…” Maurice took a deep breath.

‘She really has a bad temper,’ he concluded.

Maurice didn’t stop her until Eliana had vented most of her anger and frustration.

Eliana calmed down after biting Maurice hard.

She had no strength to argue with Maurice any further and eventually fell asleep in his arms.

Maurice carried her into the car and then drove back to the Moran family’s old house.

When they reached the house, Maurice brought her all the way to a room. Eliana regained consciousness after he put her down on a bed.

She could tell it wasn’t her home.

“Maurice, you wretch! Where did you take me?” Eliana murmured. Her voice showed that she was really not feeling well.

Maurice couldn’t decide whether to laugh or cry. Despite her condition, Eliana still had the strength to scold him.

“You take care of her from now on,” he told the butler and servants before dismissing them.

“Yes, Mr. Moran,” the servants responded with bowed heads.

Eliana suddenly came to her senses. Without saying anything, she leaped out of bed, wanting to leave. But Maurice pushed her back into bed.

“Are you going to lock me up?” Eliana asked impatiently. “What on earth do you want to do, Maurice?”

“Stay here if you still want Hodge to continue his treatment. If you dare to leave, then I will just let him die,” Maurice threatened.

“Ridiculous! Do you really think I care about him? If he died, then it would be a good thing.”

In a rage, Eliana struggled to get out of bed again.

“You don’t care about Hodge, alright. But how about your other friends? Trust me, my resources are not what you can imagine.”

What he had just said sent shivers down Eliana’s spine.

She remembered her children.

Maurice would not let her children go once he found out about them.

Eliana also thought of Nana, who had run out on a wedding.

She couldn’t bear thinking about it any longer.

She clenched her teeth and hissed, “Maurice, you’re such a jerk!”

Maurice just looked at her indifferently.

“Remember, you cannot bear the consequences of running away from me.”

He then turned around, exited the room, and locked the door.

The room fell silent. Eliana lied down on the bed helplessly, gasping for air.

She couldn’t just sit there doing nothing.

After resting for a while and regaining some strength, Eliana stood up, walked to the window, and pushed it open.

She saw things she would never have seen in the city. It was a manor surrounded by trees, with a large courtyard and a massive iron gate.

It wasn’t her first time at the place. It was Maurice’s suburban villa.

The cold wind blew on her face. Eliana, who was still a little groggy a few minutes ago, immediately felt better.

Looking down at the view, she thought about how she could escape.

After a while, she still couldn’t come up with a good idea, so she leaned out the window to get a better look.

However, a maid opened the room’s door at that exact moment and saw her in that position.

“Ah! Miss! Please don’t! Don’t do it! We are on the third floor!”

The maid’s scream resounded throughout the entire manor.
