Eliana had been kidnapped before, and she wasn’t going to let that happen to her a second time. She quickly turned around and ran away.
What she didn’t know was that these men had been sent by Jonathan to find her.

When some men were about to catch up with her, she took out a pepper spray from her bag and sprayed it crazily into their eyes. The men were caught off guard and many of them fell to the ground because of the pain of the pepper in their eyes.
Eliana shouted for help as she ran into the factory.
“Help! Help me! Someone is trying to kidnap me!”
Her cry for help immediately alerted some workers in the factory and they all ran out. They were stunned to see a group of men in black chasing after Eliana.
“Miss Pierce!” Brevard was the first to rush over. He stood in front of Eliana and shouted at the men chasing after her, “Who on earth are you?”
When the men in black saw that the people coming out of the factory to protect Eliana vastly outnumbered them, they had no choice but to retreat for the time being.
It wasn’t until the men had retreated that Brevard heaved a sigh of relief. He wiped the sweat on his head and asked with concern, “Miss Pierce, who were those people? What did they want from you?”
Eliana was just as confused as anyone was.
To the best of her knowledge, she kept a low-profile recently. Who could want to harm her?
Eliana tried to think of anyone who might have a grudge against her.
Her face suddenly darkened. There were so many people who could want to kidnap her! She couldn’t tell which one of them had sent these men.
After a while, she looked at Brevard and said nervously, I really have no idea who sent them here. It’s probably someone who hates me for some reason.”
Brevard was speechless. He couldn’t help asking, “Miss Pierce, why would someone hate you?”

He visited Hodge in hospital yesterday and asked the nurse who attended to Hodge how Hodge got to the hospital. He also heard rumors.
