Chapter 491 An Additional One Million Troops

“Amazing! How imposing. I’m sure Lord Caspian can defeat the two of them!” Benjamin exclaimed.

Caspian’s strength had already reached the ultimate supreme grandmaster a few years ago. He must

have reached greater heights by now.

“Don’t be careless. Our missiles have destroyed the enemy’s front lines. They might choose to retaliate

next,” Caspian warned.

“What measures should we take now?” Benjamin asked.

“They won’t give up just like that. If naval warfare doesn’t work, they’ll implement land

warfare.

“They might even attack the war zone in South Aridlands. Sound the red alert immediately!” Caspian

ordered.

“Yes, sir!” Nodding, Benjamin began to issue the commands.

Just then, an intelligence officer rushed in. “Report, there’s an encrypted call from His Majesty!”

Due to the current circumstances, Balthazar was also using a satellite–encrypted phone to prevent the

enemies from eavesdropping.

“What are your orders, Your Majesty?” Caspian asked.

1

“Lord Caspian, Astronia and Vadesia have officially declared war on us. They’ve sent out their Gods of

War, Robert Valez and Viktor Obrien.

“Soon after, millions of soldiers will be pressing onto our borders. Are you sure you can

handle it?” Balthazar asked.

“Your Majesty, our military force in the war zone of South Aridlands is limited. It’ll be difficult for us to

hold the lines against the two countries.

“However, they’ll need to cross other countries to reach Diatoran. This could be an opportunity for us,”

Caspian stated honestly.

“At the west, Filren has already engaged in battle with our forces at the borders. We need to be on our

guard against Estrya in the east.”

“As of now, I can only order Joseph Welch to redeploy his military troops from the Central Plains to

back you up. Is this plan feasible for you?” Balthazar asked.

He respected Caspian’s opinion greatly.

“It’s doable! As long as the troops from the war zone in Central Plains can reinforce me in time, I have

the utmost confidence to defeat the enemies‘ troops!” Caspian answered firmly.

“Good! I hope you can complete the mission. Astronia and Vadesia will need to pass through Necros to

reach Diatoran.

“We can contact Necros to stop them from passing through. We’ll send out additional troops. as well,”

Balthazar spoke out.

“I understand, Your Majesty. I’ll find a way so that I won’t fail your expectations,” Caspian declared

resolutely.

He thought that was the end of the conversation. However, he didn’t expect Balthazar to voice out his

concerns.

“I’m not worried since you’ll be there. However, the situation at West Aridlands is not

optimistic. It’s a confrontation, and the soldiers at West Aridlands seem to be in a precarious situation,”

Balthazar said worriedly.

“What? What’s Dax Santos doing there? There’s no reason for him to be the Champion of West

Aridlands if he can’t defend it!” Caspian exclaimed urgently.

Right after that, Balthazar announced a shocking decision. He planned to oversee the army in West

Aridlands to boost the soldiers‘ morale.

Caspian was stunned when he heard his decision. It was simply too risky.

After all, Balthazar had an esteemed status. What would happen if an accident occurred?

“Your Majesty “Caspian wanted to persuade Balthazar only to be interrupted by him, There’s no need to

say more, Lord Caspian. I’ve made up my mind. I would’ve been able to rest easy if Diatoran had more

people like you.

“You’ll be my successor if I encounter any danger. I want you to oversee Diatoran,” Balthazar

commanded.

Caspian was shocked. He never thought Balthazar would make such a decision.

However, he wasn’t the least bit interested in the King’s position. Becoming the successor would only

mean losing his freedom.

“I know you’re surprised. But Lord Caspian, you’re Diatoran’s only God of War. Only you have the right

to the throne. I believe in your capabilities!” Balthazar stated.

“We can discuss this later, Your Majesty. The good always prevails. No danger will befall you,” Caspian

said.

“Alright. Prepare for battle. I’ll inform Joseph to send reinforcements to you.” Balthazar hung up when

he finished speaking.

Caspian remained in a daze for a few seconds. He never thought the situation would be so grave that

Balthazar would have to oversee the army personally.

Diatoran had never faced such a predicament in the past centuries.

West Aridlands was unprepared for the enemy’s sudden attack. That was the reason why they suffered

such a quick defeat.

“Commander! The enemy has launched dozens of missiles to attack the war zone at South Aridlands!”

the deputy reported urgently.

Once again, Caspian focused on the situation as he began to direct the battle.

It was fortunate that Diatoran’s National Missile Defense System was very formidable. All the missiles

were intercepted the moment they entered the airspace.

There was no one on the streets of Southlake City and Garthram. Everyone had entered the air raid

shelters.

A missile attack would be a devastating blow to a city. Thankfully, Diatoran’s defense system was still

powerful enough to intercept the missiles as soon as they were launched, causing them to explode in

mid–air.

Just then, an accident occurred. There was a great explosion inside Southlake Corporation.

With a deafening boom, the company crumbled from the inside. Thick smoke bellowed as the building

collapsed within seconds.

The hundred–story–high building was instantly reduced to rubble. The vibrations that followed the

building’s collapse could be felt within miles away.

Even the people who were hiding underground could sense that something had happened on

the surface.

Sylvia, Macy, and the armored battalion had also arrived at the air raid shelter. Their mission was to

ensure Willow’s safety. They couldn’t intervene in other matters for now.

Astronia and Vadesia had officially declared war against Diatoran. For all they knew, there could also

be spies around.

It would be troublesome if the enemy decided to target Willow.

Caspian witnessed the moment Southlake Corporation was blown up in South Aridlands‘ war zone

command center, However, there was no change in his expression.

To him, Southlake Corporation was nothing compared to Diatoran.

However, the explosion of the building from within indicated that there were a lot of spies

Astronia and Vadesia ceased their air raids after launching hundreds of missiles. They were all

intercepted by the system.

“They’re utterly despicable, Commander! Who knew they’d have large–scale weapons like

this?

“We should use the intercontinental missiles so they can have a taste of their own medicine!” a general

exclaimed.

“We can’t,” Caspian refused.

“Huh? Why not?” the general asked puzzledly.

“No matter what, the civilians are innocent. The war is a military affair. We can’t harm the innocent. All

we need to do is to drive back the enemy’s troops,” Caspian ordered.

“Yes, sir!” the general nodded as he replied.

After that, Caspian began to discuss their countermeasures with a few of the higher–ups.

At the same time, the air raid shelter beneath Southlake City was packed with people.

“The latest news reports that Southlake Corporation has been destroyed!” Nicholas laughed. when he

saw the notification on his phone.

He initially wanted to pursue Willow. However, he didn’t succeed. This caused him to have lingering

resentment toward Willow and Caspian.

Naturally, he felt somewhat excited when he knew that Southlake Corporation had been reduced to

rubble. After all, Southlake Corporation was the largest conglomerate in the entire.

Southlake City.

The people in the shelter started a discussion upon hearing the news.

“How tragic! A large conglomerate, gone just like that?”

“The market value of Southlake Corporation is close to two trillion! They’ve just merged with Morrison

Group. It’s truly a pity.”
