Chapter 171: Gown
The expression on He Wanqing’s face dropped down immediately, “You must’ve bought this for yourself to wear! Get the hell out of here! Don’t stand there and disgust me! My Qingqing has her own gown! I don’t need you and your fakeness!”
Qin Yongmei was being yelled at but the smile remained on her face, “Wanqing, why don’t you ever accept my niceness? The service lady told me that this gown looks extremely good when put on.”
“If you don’t believe me, tell Qingqing to come down and try it on. After all, different people have different taste. Just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean Qingqing won’t. I think this looks great!”
He Wanqing, “Try it on my @ss! I told you, my daughter has her own gown! You can take your piece of trash of a gown and go wherever the hell you want!”
“Sigh, since you have a gown, then whatever.” Qin Yongmei let it go and changed the subject, “I haven’t been over for a while. I want to ask, what score did Qingqing get on the entrance exam?”
He Wanqing froze, “The marks are out?”
Qin Yongmei couldn’t help but laugh out loud, “The marks came out a long time ago! Wanqing, you don’t even know? Qingqing didn’t tell you? Even the applications for universities are almost done. My Niannian got 684 points in total!”
“Wanqing, don’t blame me for being naggy. You should go outside sometimes and interact with other wives. Look at how little you know.”
Since He Wanqing didn’t speak, Qin Yongmei was over the moon.
“It looks like Qingqing didn’t tell you. Could it be that she didn’t score well? Even if you are angry, you need to calm down. After all, it’s her coming of age party today. Don’t get mad at her today. It’s bad luck.”
“I don’t need your fakeness!” He Wanqing was now truly infuriated as she pointed at the door, “Get the hell out of here!”
“Ah, look at you. I’m so worried you would get mad at Qingqing. What I want to say is that some people are limited by their natural intelligence. It’s not your kid’s fault. You… ah, ah…”
“F!ck off!” He Wanqing shoved Qin Yongmei out the door and slammed it shut.
After the noises by her ears finally dissipated, He Wanqing patted her heaving chest. She went upstairs and walked straight to the study room.
After her knocking was acknowledged, He Wanqing entered.
As she watched Qiao Qing read at her desk, she didn’t know how to bring anything up.
Instead, she found a random subject, “Baby, where’s little Xuan?”
Qiao Qing, “Weren’t you the one who said those two guys have tasks these days?”
He Wanqing remembered that Jun Yexuan was preparing a surprise for Qingqing and had asked her to keep it a secret.
She continued asking, “I heard little Xuan prepared a gown for you so I didn’t bother looking for one for you. Have you tried it on? Does it fit?”
Qiao Qing paused, “Not yet.”
“Oh, you should try it on. After all, you’ll be wearing it tonight at the ceremony.”
Qiao Qing nodded, “Later.”
After all this, He Wanqing continued to stare at Qiao Qing
Qiao Qing put down her book, “Mom, what do you really want to know?”
“N… Nothing. I’m just here to see you. After all, you’re about to be an adult.” He Wanqing was worried she could tell something was off so she hurriedly left the room.
Thinking about how Qiao Qing hid her grades from her, He Wanqing couldn’t help but sigh.
So what if Qingqing did do bad on the exam? She didn’t need to say anything if she didn’t want to. The worst that could happen was that she’ll raise her daughter her entire life.
Even little Xuan knew to prepare Qingqing a birthday present. It was not a time for He Wanqing to bring up Qingqing’s weakness.
The thought about this made her feel like she was a bad mom.
After He Wanqing left, Qiao Qing pondered over this.
Before she could figure out what that was about, a rustling came from the window.
Next, a person flipped inside.
Qi Feng held two giant boxes of presents and put them on Qiao Qing’s table.
“Gown, accessories, and shoes – they were all custom made for Ms. Qiao. The Sect Leader had expressed his wish for Ms. Qiao to wear his gifts when attending the coming of age ceremony.”
