Chapter 1367: Etiquette and Mannerism on Tallgeese
What is an advanced outpost? In military terms, it is an outpost where the strongest and bravest are posted, to defend it well as enemies would most likely strike there first. It was a place closest to the enemy, allowing the advanced troops to strike hard and fast.
Tallgeese, on the other hand, was different than any other advanced outpost. A complete turnover rate of just three years literally meant that no one can survive there for more than three years.
Everyone there lived on a day to day basis. They ate, they fought, they hunted, just to survive the day and hope that the next would not come. Psychologically speaking, no one wanted to waste their time. They lived like every day was their last, holding nothing back.
As a posting that the Valsalrian Army top brass sent their criminal and war prisoners to, there were very few female life forms there. Even if there were any, they would most likely be the property of the strongest fighter there.
There was no way for a man to… vent his pent-up… feelings.
There was only one exception—the new recruits. If there were any females present during the entry of new recruits, the soldiers would leap into action before others could even glance in their general direction.
As such, Sarila, being the sole beautiful catgirl amongst pent-up boys, was immediately pounced upon.
“Get your filthy hands off me!” she cried.
Other than during battles, it had been a long, long time since a man dared to treat her without respect. She had been living as Alexis’ adopted daughter since she was just a kitten. No one dared to even lay a finger on her.
A humanoid figure came forward, pushing away everybody else with the tentacles that were his hands and feet. Slime and mucus splattered everywhere as he made his entrance.
“She’s mine!” he said.
“F*ck off! You dare to stand against me?!”
Another figure came out of the surrounding crowd, and when he presented himself, everyone went silent. He was a Decronian, a man with a crocodile’s head and was 3,000,000 combat level strong. He was the strongest amongst all the perverts around.
“Tsk. Go ahead. Have at it!”
The man with tentacles for limbs retreated in a cowardly albeit disgruntled manner.
“Such a cute little kitty! Come here! I’ll make sure you’ll be meowing all night long!” said the Decronian suggestively as saliva dripped off his long jaw.
Sarila hissed. “Touch me and that hand will never touch anything else!”
“Come now! Don’t be such a buzzkill! You’ll only need to spend one night with me!”
“DON’T TOUCH ME!” bellowed Sarila at the top of her lungs as she unleashed an energy ball.
She flung it hard but The Decronian effortlessly slapped it away. The power of that energy ball was a direct reflection of Sarila’s own power. She was so much weaker than the Decronian, there was nothing she could do to fight him off.
“Eheheheheh! I like that in a woman! Perhaps with your spirit, you’ll last two nights riding me!” said the Decronian, laughing maniacally.
He quickly charged towards Sarila and lo and behold, he had even removed his pants in the blink of an eye! He intended to have his way with her right then and there!
Jiang Fei scoffed as he appeared right in between Sarila and the Decronian, “Seems like you’re forgetting something.”
Just like that, the Decronian was grabbed and flung away like a ragged doll.
“She’s not alone,” said Jiang Fei simply as he stood right next to the Decronian who was now lying helplessly on the ground.
Jiang Fei had been holding back his anger while the bunch of lecherous freaks were publicly declaring how they wanted to f*ck Sarila. No matter, Jiang Fei thought to himself, since back on Earth there were many dumb guys who cat-called girls who were just walking by.
But he’d had it when the Decronian removed his pants and swung it around. If it weren’t for the promise he made with Theon, Jiang Fei would have sent his head and torso to opposite ends of the universe.
Sarila was his friend and comrade-in-arms, and even if she had been just a random stranger, he would not idly stand by and watch a random lecher rape her!
The Decronian tried to get up but before he could, he spat out a mouthful of brown fluid, which Jiang Fei assumed was his blood. “Ka-hak!”
It took all of his control to hold back his punches. He had only released a limited amount of power to make sure that the Decronian could still breathe.
“Those who took my stuff without my permission, return them to me, or…” said Jiang Fei, purposely trailing off and cracking his knuckles hard.
He was not going to play it cool here. The locals had already shown their true colors, so he would too. With a simple nod, Jiang Fei released his own limiter and displayed his true potential to everyone present.
“F*cking hell… he has over 5,000,000 combat level…”
“Who is he? How is he so strong?”
“No idea, he must have wronged someone at the highest position to be placed here.”
“Whatever it is, he won’t survive long.”
“I couldn’t care less about that. Let’s listen to him now. I’d rather live for another day than to die beaten up by a greenhorn!”
…
Arms crossed, Jiang Fei stood still, glaring at everyone after he had delivered his warning speech. All of his personal belongings were returned, with not a single thing missing.
Despite the lawlessness the locals had displayed, there was one law that everyone would follow. The highest authority belongs to the strongest. It was a dog eat dog’s world out there, and to survive, it was best not to wrong those with the power to destroy you.
Jiang Fei stopped releasing his overbearing energy and returned to his own squad. “Help me rearrange this stuff. Thanks.”
“Yes, sir,” said the soldiers and quickly came to aid their newly-elected leader.
They had been utterly dejected upon setting foot on this planet, but were now saved by Jiang Fei’s display of power. Knowing that he was a kind and understanding leader, the remnants of the 13th Division decided to follow him into even the depths of hell.
“You, come,” said Jiang Fei, calling out to one of the locals.
The man obediently came to Jiang Fei like a dog, saying,”Yes? You called?”
Judging by how the man reacted to his summons, Jiang Fei could roughly guess how the social system here worked. Anyone could kill and get away with it as long as they were stronger. That was the norm.
As such, most of the soldiers that were posted here, died not by the hands of Ultralisks, but by the hands of the stronger soldiers here.
“Tell me, what are the rules here? Who governs the troops? Who is the most powerful person here?” asked Jiang Fei.
“Oh my good lord, there are no rules here. There are many who claim the throne and many have also fallen still believing in that claim,” explained the man.
“So be it. What about camps? Where is the main outpost?”
Jiang Fei had so many soldiers with him and without proper accommodation, living would be hard.
“Camps? Outposts? There are no such things. There are six habitable planets in this system, and this one is called Dhiras. The entire system is in a lockdown zone, there is no way to escape. There are no ports and no hangar bay. The only way to get in or out is by using the teleportation port.
“There is a central teleportation hub in high orbital range. That is where we go whenever there is an Ultralisk attack. If it is accommodation you seek, you have to build one yourself. You could also seek out existing settlements around the other five planets and drive out the locals there to claim their homes as your own.”
Jiang Fei nodded and sighed. “It really is a mad, mad world.”
All in all, it was clear that his division had been thrown out to the edge of the universe to fend for themselves. It wasn’t just the threat of Ultralisks that they had to worry about, but also from members of their own kind.
“Fei, what should we do?” asked Sarila.
Jiang Fei declared, “We’ll have to take a look around first before I can decide. If this planet suits us best, we shall build our new base here.”
Though he had everything he needed right in the ring, there were still things that he dearly missed. Unfortunately, all Braveheart’s factories and facilities had been left back on Earth. Even with a near-perpetual amount of energy in him, 0541 could not make anything without the proper tools.
That being said, even deprived of technology, Jiang Fei had a mythical item in his inventory—The Seed of Yondu’s Sprout!
This little seed could grow into anything that you wanted it to be! Although its stalk and integrity was not as reliable as good old steel, it was still better than having nothing to construct a base with.
After packing up their belongings, Jiang Fei led the squad of over a thousand soldiers out to the open world. The man that Jiang Fei had called out to remained where he was, staring at the large squad leaving. Although he was not wise nor strong, he was sure that their coming would rattle all of Tallgeese.
