Jiang Fei waited for the servant to bring the plate to him. Only then could he see what Poseidon had given him. Unexpectedly, it was only a small gem. Jiang Fei picked it up to inspect it, only to discover that it had a simple description but no function.

Naga Soul (False) (Gemstone, Epic)

Note: Looks and feels like the real Naga Soul but it does nothing.

“What is this…?” said Jiang Fei as he took the gem.

Quest Name: Eliminating the Threat

Quest Description: The race of Naga possessed the powerful physique of that a Draconian. It was a blessing through worshiping a gemstone that was called the Naga Soul located in their Holy Altar. The mysterious gemstone emits powerful energy. Through exposing a newborn Naga with its energy, the baby Naga would be blessed with a strong body, making him a soldier in the future. Your mission is to take the gemstone and replace it with a fake.

Quest Objective: Steal the Naga Soul.

Quest Reward: Unknown.

“Oh dang…”

Jiang Fei was anxious. Even though the quest did not have a failing penalty, the difficulty was too great.

The Holy Altar of the Naga race would unquestionably be in the middle of the Naga’s city. Even though Jiang Fei had the ability to breathe underwater, infiltrating into the heart of the Naga would be mission impossible!

Even if he could enter the belly of the beast, he would not be able to enter the Holy Altar as not even ordinary Nagas were allowed to be inside! Infiltrating the Altar itself was already an impossible mission, stealing the Naga Soul would be even harder to achieve.

“Good luck, young one. You will need it,” Poseidon laughed.

“This one will try his best,” said Jiang Fei. Even though he had accepted the quest, he had almost zero confidence in completing the quest.

After he was done talking with the Emperor, Jiang Fei and King Elric met outside the palace and discussed the crazy quest. Even though King Elric was powerful, there was little he could do to help him. In the end, the most he could do was teleport Jiang Fei directly into the city of the Naga. After that, Jiang Fei would be on his own. The Naga and the Merfolk were at each other’s throats for thousands of years. No one could remember the cause of the conflict between the two Seafolks, but no sides were willing to compromise with the other. Unless the Merfolks declared war with the Nagas, not even King Elric could deliver Jiang Fei into the heart of the Naga’s city.

“Alright. I am ready now. I’ll be in your care,” said Jiang Fei as he prepared for King Elric to teleport him into the Naga’s territory. The only advantage that Jiang Fei had against the Nagas was his neutrality against them. The Naga might be hostile to those of the Church, but they held nothing against the Nephilim. In fact, they even gained a closer relation to them due to the hostility towards the Light Faction. That allowed Jiang Fei to enter the Naga territory without being attacked.

After that, with King Elric’s power and authority, he delivered Jiang Fei into the Endless Seas where the Naga race dwelled.

Alone, Jiang Fei was not sure of what he should do. Before the great incident, Isabella could still talk to Jiang Fei and inform him about the many things she knew about the entire world. If she still had her soul, she would be teaching something about the Naga race. But now… she was nothing but an empty shell.

Jiang Fei swam around and tried to find an NPC to ask for his location and if possible, try to get someone to send him into the Holy Altar

20 minutes later, Jiang Fei found an NPC that was patrolling around.

Makruras Patrolman (Humanoid, Elite)

Level: 70

Health Points: 100%

Note: Ranked the lowest amongst the Naga race.

“Halt! State your business here,” said the patrolman as he stopped Jiang Fei from proceeding towards him.

“I am an Inquisitor of the Nephilim. I am here to discuss important matters with your leader,” said Jiang Fei.

“Do you have anything to prove yourself?”

“Well…”

Jiang Fei was stumped. If he was a real Inquisitor of the Nephilim, there would be documents that could prove his identity. However, since it was a made-up lie…

“If you do not have proof, you are not allowed to enter the city!” said the patrolman. Even though Jiang Fei was not in a hostile relationship with the patrolman, he was still not allowed to enter the city. Rules are rules and the patrolman was only following protocol.

“Tsk… What should I do…?”

Seeing that the patrolman was about to leave, Jiang Fei thought that he could sneak into the city without permission. However, if he did, he might cause a scene, which would be the last thing he needed to complete the quest. If the patrolman left, he would have lost his only guide into the city. The underwater realm was so huge and since he could not use any mounts underwater, it would take ages before he could find the city or another NPC to trick!

“Why are you still here? Do you have business with me?”

“It is vital that I speak to your leader. I have information about the Merfolk,” said Jiang Fei in desperation.

“Is that true?!” the patrolman cried. In the underwater realm, most of the Seafolk could not care less about the surface world. The only similar threat that both the Merfolk and the Naga had were the pirates. However, now that Jiang Fei was offering information about their mortal enemy. The patrolman got interested.

“Let me hear it,” said the patrolman.

“No! It is too important for someone like you to listen. I can only tell your leader!” said Jiang Fei. It was time to put on airs again!

“I see… Alright, follow me,” said the patrolman. He completely bought Jiang Fei’s lie as he was too low of rank to say anything. However, he had a duty to help his own race to fight the enemy. Besides, he might even get punished for denying the Inquisitor entry, especially when he had claimed to have information about the Merfolk.

Jiang Fei followed the patrolman. It was then when he realized that the underwater realm was too much of a difference when compared to the surface world. There was no such thing as roads and pavement that one could identify. Hence, without a person who knew his way around, Jiang Fei would never be able to find the Naga’s city.

Just when the sunlight got dimmer, Jiang Fei finally arrived at a large snail shell. There was nothing around, only sand, corals, and water. It would be hard to find this place without the patrolman guiding him. The large cone shell looked like a checkpoint, something that resembled a scout tower.

“Please stay here, I need to report this,” said the patrolman as he entered the cavity of the shell from the bottom. In no time at all, the patrolman returned with another taller, slightly larger Makruras.

Makruras Inspector (Humanoid, Advanced Elite)

Level: 75

Health Points: 100%

Note: The one that fights for the Naga.

“Are you the one that claims to have information about the Merfolk?” said the Inspector. Even though this Inspector was one or two ranks higher than the patrolman, he did display an intimidating aura.

“That is correct,” said Jiang Fei as calmly as he could.

“In that case, tell me everything you know,” said the Inspector as he smirked.

“You? I’m afraid I cannot do so. This information is too important. Like I said to the patrolman, I can only reveal this information to your leader!” said Jiang Fei. At this point, Jiang Fei was all too familiar with that look on his face. He wanted to have that information for himself and take all the credit by informing the leader himself!

“Urgh. Fine. Are you sure this is important?” said the Inspector. As expected, this goes way higher in the ranking ladder. Like the patrolman, the Inspector bowed to Jiang Fei’s demand.
