Chapter 381 - Sneak Attack

Chapter 381: Sneak Attack

"Isn't this nephew of mine a bit too hot blooded?" A man said with a laugh as he looked at the person who was lying in front of him scorched pretty badly. He seemed to be on his last breath and his eyes still seemed to have a lingering fear from the battle before.

The man was Elder whom Max had fought earlier.

"Make him speak, I want to hear about my nephew…" the man sitting on the chair said with a smile.

Following his order, one of his men came forward grabbed the dying man before lifting him like a broken doll.

The man looked at the person sitting on the chair, he knew who the person was.

"He…..knows you…..he is coming for you…"

"Hahahahah!!!" The man suddenly began to laugh hysterically after hearing his words.

"Interesting….Interesting….it seems my little brother and that slut's efforts did a miracle. This nephew is certainly interesting….."

"Sir Saleos, we should deal with him before things become too troublesome. He might not be anything right now, but if the Lord steps up to protect him, it will become troublesome…." Suddenly an old man rose up from his seat. He was one of twin Elders who had gone after Zack. He was afraid of letting Zack's child alive. After all, the kid knew about Saleos.. .it was possible that he knew about him killing his father too….

"Oh? Is that so?" Saleos smiled as he looked at the old man. "Why don't you go out and deal with him then?"

"Me?" The old man was suddenly taken back. How could he attack a junior?

"Yes, don't worry, Elder. I am sure you will find a good opportunity. How about this? You attack to save the Young Lord of the House?" Saleos said with a smile.

"Sir, you mean the Young Lord would lose?" One of the men couldn't help but ask. All the people here were his trusted aid or the people who wouldn't dare to go against him.

"Who knows? But if he does, it will be a good chance for us. You understand it don't you, Elder?" Saleos turned his head to look at the old man with a meaningful smile.

The old man wasn't feeling good at all. He shouldn't have said anything to begin with. But he didn't refuse. He didn't dare to. Even he didn't know how deep this man's power ran.

He had seen what had happened with another Elder who had interfered with his plans. This b*stard didn't even spare little children from his family. What was even more messed up was that no one could find any relations of the incident with him.

…..

Mana had turned chaotic around the battlefield and started to rampage. The White ball of light began to crumbled as cracks spread on it's surface. It was going to explode.

As Nathan lost control of his spell, he looked at Max. There was a complicated look in his eyes. In the end he couldn't even fight it out with him.

He then looked at Janet who was a few meters behind with her friends and sighed. His lips moved and Max could definitely hear him, "Be Strong…"

"Boom!"

The white ball of light exploded engulfing the area into a blinding light as it kicked a fierce gale in the surroundings.

"Brother!!!" Janet screamed as tears filled her eyes. She thought of rushing ahead but her body stopped as she felt Lilly 's presence in her arms.

"Stay back!!!" Aria screamed as she let her mana out and formed a barrier to take on the impact from the explosion to protect the people behind.

Lisa's expression turned serious as she let out her Dark aura and got ready to move in case of need.

But the thing which everyone was expecting never happened. The white light slowly dimmed down and began to disappear.

Even though others couldn't feel it, Lisa clearly felt the power of Darkness surging at the center of the explosion.

Max who was standing in front of Nathan raised his hand as a Dark aura sprang out from his hand.

"Devour!"

The White light and the explosive mana immediately began to get sucked into the Dark matter extending out of Max's hand while he raised his other hand and used telekinesis to pull Nathan towards himself.

If this guy dared to have shot it towards him, Max would have killed him by the night.

As Max caught Nathan, his eyes suddenly turned wide as an overwhelming sense of danger rose from his heart. Immediately a humongous pressure dropped onto his shoulders. But thankfully, his buff helped him to remain calm and avoid its effect.

'This shameless people dare to send a Grand Master Tier Mage…' Max cursed inwardly as he immediately moved back.

But at this moment, a blade came thrusting towards Max.

Max immediately realised something. Whoever this guy was, he didn't plan to rescue Nathan in the first place. If his attack connected, Nathan would be the first person to die.

Even if this guy had to die, it wasn't supposed to be in Max's arms. It would bring him unnecessary trouble. Besides, Max had a faint idea on who was pulling the strings here.

"Tsk!" Max clicked his tongues as he raised his hand and a purple light suddenly flashed.

The spirit snake bolted out of Max's body and immediately slithered through the edge of the blade and coiled around the man's arm as it's fang went for the old man's wrist.

The old man was surprised by the sudden change of event. He never expected Max to pull off something like that. The sudden change slowed him down and he reacted by releasing his aura and blasting the snake to smithereens.

He then looked towards Max who had already escaped from his attack range. By now the scene was pretty visible to everyone. He had lost his chance to get it done without anyone seeing. But this was too good of an opportunity to let go.

"I won't let you kill our Young Lord!!!" The old man screamed.

He really had a thick skin....

With that, he swung his sword sending a beam of sword light flying towards Max instead of trying to close in on him.

'Do I really need to show my cards here…'

Max hadn't shown anything but the fire element to the people….

As he was pondering...somethng strange occurred. The light flashing into Max's pupil was covered by the shadow of a figure who suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

"Bang!"

The man didn't react and the sword light struck his body. But the next instant, it shattered into fragments not even being able to pierce through the figure's mana barrier.

"Welcome back, Young Master…." The old man suddenly turned his head to look at Max with a gentle smile on his face.

"Why don't you let this lowly servant handle this matter? I am still in your debt…." The old man in butler uniform said with a smile.

Max didn't know what he meant but just nodded his head as he carried and Nathan took a few steps back planning to watch the battle.
