Chapter 396 - Arrival
Chapter 396: Arrival
Auction Hall, Roxley District
The old man calmly observed the auction hall. He didn't even pay attention to anything else. It was quite evident how much value Max and others had in his eyes.
"Tsk….some annoying people are coming..." the guy who had been standing in the corner suddenly clicked his tongue. He seemed to be displeased with something.
"I don't wanna get into this mess….I am leaving…" He suddenly said to the old man.
"And I thought you would be sticking till the end…" the old man said with a smile.
"Fine...I will save his ass in exchange for leaving…." He didn't wait for the old man to say another word and left.
The old man didn't say anything to him. He was waiting for the third item to arrive….he had already retrieved two of them….
A few minutes passed and as the third item was about to arrive the doors to the room opened…
"I didn't remember inviting you in…" the old man said without even turning around.
"Hahaha...the whole capital belongs to me. You sure do have the guts to be barging in, I give you that…"
The owner of the voice was the Lord of the Kingsman Family, Rayford Kingsman.
He had finally arrived….
"To think you have personally come… you really are planning to kill me, aren't you?" The old man asked with a smile.
"You sure are sharp…." Rayford said as he took a seat and looked at the old man.
The old man suddenly raised his hand and made a bid as the new item came in. The scene in the room looked like anything but two mortal enemies facing each other.
"Is that disgusting Von Family not enough that you are poking us as well?"
Even the old man's face seems to show ripples for a second.
"We might as well wipe you bunch using this chance…" Rayford said as he pondered a bit.
Even though they had been fighting for since eternity, there had never been an instance of full-blown war, at least not in the last 1000 years…
But recently, Leo Von, heir of the Von family, had vanished in a Demon raid. It didn't matter if it was intentional or not….
They had really angered the peace loving disgusting bunch....
Von family had really bared its fangs this time. They were the most quiet bunch out of all the Ancient families with some funny ideas. But the last few months were more than enough for people to learn that they were wolves in sheep's hide…
The amount of blood flowing had really left people turned away in disgust...some even felt that the demons had surely kicked the bucket this time...
But, obviously it is impossible for a single family to wipe the demons out…. the other Ancient families were ready to jump and help if things turned dire. After all, they just couldn't allow one of themselves to perish.
But the lack of any concrete response from the demons had left Rayford puzzled. He was sure that something was wrong….this further prevented him from taking any action and he has just taken a backseat to watch the show for now…
But today he heard something interesting…..
"Oh..It seems I am late…"
And another person had arrived….the Lord of Edwinson House was finally here...
Kingsman looked at him and then smiled a bit in understanding.
Three people in the room but no one planned to make a move.
If people like them fought in the capital, then the capital was done for…..
Obviously the demons had to be willing to bear the consequences of their action to, if they could cause a massacre then so could the humans…
"Shall we get to the topic then? I don't think you two can settle it by your own…" the Lord of Edwinson House finally said as he walked in between them.
"Wouldn't killing him solve everything?" Rayford asked even though he clearly understood the situation. He was just trying to remind the old demon that his life was not in his hand.
"What do you suggest?" The old man suddenly turned towards the Edwinson Lord.
"Leave your head behind…." Rayford said without taking a hint of Edwinson Lord's glare.
The Lord of Edwinson House was the one who was the most depressed here. He wasn't afraid of a fight, in fact he wanted to beat the crap out of this old man even as he spoke....but if a fight broke out, his family would suffer. They had their base here after all…
On the other hand, it looked like the Kingsman might be willing to let blood spill down the streets if push comes to shove….
…..
On the other side, a few minutes earlier….
"Scree!!"
"Roar!!"
Werner frowned as he looked at the flaming phoenix and water dragon rushing out of Max's body.
The sight was one to behold. Fire and water rising side by side was something not everybody got to witness...
'Dual element?'
He suddenly started having a bad feeling about it. There were quite a few dual-element users he was aware of….and almost all belonged to the Ancient Families…
The thought of the Ancient families being involved was enough to give him a serious headache.
"Whoosh!"
The next instant, Max moved. His steps were lightning fast, before anyone could react he had already struck out.
"Bang!"
Werner flew out like a bullet as he crashed into the streets.
The people around him were a second late to react but obviously they didn't have time to be worrying about others. Max hadn't called out his true spells just to show off.
The water dragon and flaming Phoenix immediately stopped the enemy's advance.
Max didn't pay them any attention and just jumped down to the streets.
"Come on now, I didn't hit you that hard…..don't disappoint me…" Max said with a smile. Last time, he didn't gain any advantage with this guy...but he was curious now...just how many minutes could a guy like him last with Max's new breakthrough….
It was time for Max to shift his attention from the Younger generation to the older. They were the one he would be truly fighting…..especially the millennia Demon...
Werner jumped out of the hole in the ground. His hands had already made a demonic transformation...but there a mark on his scales and the area around it had cracked.
It seemed he had been hit by something quite hard.....
