Chapter 585 - The Controlling Lady
Chapter 585: The Controlling Lady
Roxley House, Trinity.
'Serves you right..' Ander laughed inwardly looking at the dumbfounded look on her wife's face. He knew that she wouldn't be able to settle down after this incident. This was her punishment for making him worry.
"Come in my room, if you are not satisfied." He gave her a wink and laughed inwardly. He then just left her standing there.
Lesia touched her lips as she saw Ander's leaving back, 'Did he identify me?'
'No, that isn't possible!' She shook her head, but the next instant her brain stopped working. After all, if she accepted the fact that he hadn't recognized her, it would mean that he was cheating on her.
She couldn't accept that as well. She began to feel her stomach churn, it seemed she wouldn't be having a good sleep today.
….
The next day arrived…
The news regarding Barnes and Roxley from last night had already spread far apart now. And, many people had their eyes on the situation. They wondered what was going to happen.
"You ready?" Melinda asked Max with a smile on her face.
"Yeah, I can't be anymore ready," Max said as his lips curled up into a cocky smile. This made Melinda frown. His expression looked way different than yesterday. It seemed to have made a 180 degree turn. She was having a bad feeling about it.
She just hoped that he wouldn't do anything to turn the meeting hall upside down. No, she didn't even mind that. She just hoped that his antiques wouldn't get in their way.
With that, the two went downstairs and saw that the rest had come down for breakfast as well.
Ander was the only one missing, but he soon arrived after Max as well.
"Hmnn?" Ander felt a sharp piercing gaze and turned his head only to find Lesia staring at him. He just couldn't help, but laughed inwardly looking at the expression on her face,
He was really enjoying it.
In the end, he once again gave her a wink seeing that she had no plans to stop staring at him. And, to his surprise, it worked actually. Lesia immediately shifted her gaze. But it was not due to shyness, and more due to anger most probably.
"What are you guys going to do today? I would rather have you guys stay indoors for today if possible," Melina said looking at Lora and the girls.
"We can't go out today as well?" Lora asked, she was clearly a bit upset at it. But, didn't protest and tried to be at her best behavior. After all, both Lear's dad and mom were here.
"Well, she has grown up a lot since the last time I saw her." Ander looked at Lora with surprise on his face. "She has grown beautiful just like her mother."
Those words made Lora blush, but Lesia didn't seem happy about it. It was fine if he had praised Lora, but he didn't have to include Melinda into it. No lady would like hearing her man praise another woman in front of her.
Melinda looked at Ander, and shook her head. She perfectly knew what he was doing. But, it wasn't like she didn't understand how fun it was.
Yes, the two were made of the same material. The two were sadists. No wonder they got along well.
….
Auditorium, Roxley House.
A lot of important people had gathered around the place. This included the Elders, the branch leaders, people from allied families and business partners.
Melinda had decided to hold an open discussion. After all, they would have to answer to all of these people because the decision today would be affecting everyone present in one way or another.
"What's wrong?" Melinda asked, looking at Max. He for some reason seemed to have stopped.
"Go ahead, I will be back before you call me on the stage." Max said to her as he looked at his phone.
Melinda frowned, but when Ander assured him that Max was responsible. In the end, she allowed it.
Max immediately disappeared from the place and took his phone up and spoke, "Where are you guys?"
"..."
"Don't worry, if it wasn't in the rules then it means we broke no rules.." Max laughed while speaking with the person on the opposite end.
…
Inside the Auditorium….
When Melinda arrived along with Roman and Ander, the place immediately turned quiet. It was clear that she had a deterrence on these people.
But, it seemed there was someone, who wasn't afraid of her at all.
"Bang!"
A loud noise rang out in the auditorium, and it seemed that someone had just smashed a chair to pieces.
"How dare you bring the damn Barnes here! Just how much do you think we have lost to them over here! It includes the lives of our brethren as well," The person shouted in anger. "Are you going to let all those death go to vain, you b*tch!"
Roman frowned. But before he could do anything, Melinda's voice sounded in his ears, "Don't do anything, it's a trap."
It was very obvious to her, only an idiot would fall in such a trap. But, unfortunately for her, she had that idiot with her.
"Calm down, we will address everyone's issue here," Melinda calmly spoke to the person as she shifted her gaze to her man in the crowd.
"Do you think that i-" The man couldn't even speak when a punch landed on his face.
"You b*stard! How dare you curse, the lady of the house?!" The person, who threw the punch screamed while grabbing his collars and threw another two punches at him before he was stopped by the guards.
"No violence! I cannot condone such actions!" Melinda said with a frown and then went on to issue the order to the guards, "Remove any people, who try to cause trouble."
"I will request everyone to be civil as well…" She further said addressing the crowd.
It really made Ander speechless.
If Melinda had punished the guy, who cursed at her, then it would have left people with a bad taste in their mouth. And made them unhappy with her.
Knowing about it very well, she had cleverly used her own man, and made sure that no one would be allowed to misbehave today. This would on the other hand allow people to have favorable impressions of her as she didn't punish the person, who went against her for misbehaving. But punished the guy, who was on her side for going overboard and turning violent.
She really knew how to control people.
It was terrifying,
