Chapter 596 - Stalking Ones Stalker
Chapter 596 - Stalking Ones Stalker
Chapter 596: Stalking One's Stalker
Mercenary District, Trinity.
Max shook his head as he looked at the announcement of results for the Orca event. They really had the shittiest possible luck. If they had the dummies counted, then they would have won the competition by at least 50,000 points lead. That wasn't a small number. It would have been practically a one sided win.
But, their luck sucked it seems.
"Orca really got lucky." Max shook his head with a helpless smile. Those guys had taken a heavy risk, a single mistake would have directly sent them to the bottom.
After all, there was one rule which stated that a team losing all the members would have half of their points deducted as a penalty.
Luckily, they weren't wiped out even after pulling maneuvers like that, and engaging the Commanding beast's as well as all the Academies.
And, most of their points had come indirectly.
After all, according to the point system. If you killed a beast indirectly, that would result in a 50% earning of the points that you were supposed earn from that Beast's death. If they didn't consider this, what would happen to those who use their brains over their hands?
Obviously there was an exception here as well, in this indirect killing, another player shouldn't be the one to be dealing the killing blow or else the point will belong to that player.
The rest was very easy to understand, the Commanding beast had gone mad, and the two mana explosions from it had really killed tons of beast nearby. All those below, 2 * Savage Categories were wiped out in an instant.
That had given Orca the chance to collect a lot of point, and break through here. After all, who would have expected the Commanding Beast to target even it's own.
Those guys had lucked out, while Arcane had the opposite happen with them.
"It was close," Caira's voice sounded in the room, and Max turned his head to see her walking in the room.
"Well, our luck sucks." Max shook his head with a sigh.
"Anyway, how did it go?" He further asked, looking at her.
"Well, I got the job done. I managed to recruit 57 groups to help us in the upcoming mission. And, just like you asked, they are small groups with no organization backing them. Each at least consist of 4-8 members." She smiled with a proud look on her face.
"That certainly went well," Max nodded.
"How many members do we currently have in our group now?" He further asked.
"There are 20, only a single expert tier. But, that is obvious. We just started, it is already a good start considering that we aren't as well known as the other big groups." Caira explained it to him.
"Ask Bahamut to send four more Expert Tier with one at the peak. We need to let our names ring out loud," Max said with a smile. He was planning on splitting with his cone, and let it handle the commanding situation while he himself would dive in the battlefield as Shura.
He was just hoping that he would be able to break the 1 hour mark for his clone before the day of the operation.
At this moment, a shadow suddenly entered the room, and Caira immediately took a stance while drawing her weapon out. She was almost about to slash behind her, when Max suddenly appeared beside her, and grabbed her hands with ease.
"Calm down, he is with me," Max said with a smile, but he had no idea just how much of a shock he had given to Caira.
She clearly didn't expect Max to be so strong. Even though she had seen him go head to head with the Commanding Beast. The fact that he had a bunch of students around him providing support as well definitely affected her perspective a bit.
She seemed to have greatly underestimated him.
"Grr!!"
Caira looked at the Shadow Leopard growling at her. It seemed to have entered a battle stance as well after seeing that Caira was about to strike.
"You calm down as well," Leo said with a helpless look on his face as he looked at the beast.
With that he brought it to his seat, while Caira stood there looking with interest.
"So, did you find their hideout?" Max asked, looking at him.
Thrice nodded, as he looked at Max.
"Good! How many people were there when you were inside the base?" He asked with a serious face, and began to count.
"1.. 2.. 3.. 4… 5… 6…." Max continued to go on until Thrice growled at 36.
"Were they strong?" He further asked, and it nodded.
"Stronger than me?"
Thrice stopped, and took his time before nodding.
"Is this the reason why you had to come early?" Max asked with a frown, and it nodded again.
Caira stood there looking at the two with a dumbfounded face. She knew that Beast's could gain intelligence at the level of an adult human, but wasn't that limited to Mythical Tier Beast.
No matter how she looked at it. This Shadow Leopard wasn't a fully matured one. And, even if it became one it shouldn't reach Mythical Tier. In that case, what was she seeing in front of her eyes?
The Shadow Leopard had gone under some kind of strange mutation under Sera's influence. Even Max couldn't tell just where they were headed to after deviating from their original path of growth.
But, it was seemingly good until now. They had gained new abilities which were ordinarily not seen within the species of their kind.
Max frowned after finding out that there were people stronger than him on enemy's side, and they even had outnumbered him.
Was it Dark Society?
Max didn't think so. Those people definitely would have more than that number of people on their base.
'Well, I might as well go, and have a look." Max smiled as he got up from his seat.
"Should I join you?" Caira asked with a smile.
"It might be dangerous," Max warned her.
"It's not my first time being in such a condition," She said with a smile. "Not to mention, I can't overlook people trying to create trouble in my city."
Max didn't have anything else to say to her. If something happened, she would surely be able to lend a helping hand. After all, she was strong, and experienced too.
Well, then it was time that he went on to stalk the people, who were stalking him.
