Chapter 611: Preparations For the Welcoming Party
The next day arrived…
Max opened his eyes, and looked at the ceiling of his room. He was still tired. Yesterday was a long day. Especially the last thing, he really thought that the man would accidentally kill him in anger.
Well, luckily he didn't need to show his survival skills in the end.
'Let's sleep a bit more..' Even if he forgot everything from yesterday, his stay in Trinity had been really mentally exhausting. And, since tomorrow was the day when the operations were commencing, he wanted to fully recharge himself before going into action.
….
Roxley House, Trinity.
The Lord's chamber..
Roman sat on the couch with Melinda by his side. They had an important guest over, who was sitting right opposite to them.
He was the Headmaster of the Trinity Academy, Fanet Bourne. And, he was also one of Roman's good friends.
Today was the Welcoming party, and they were here discussing some major issues relating to it.
"Shouldn't we just cancel it? We have people aiming for your lives, and you think it's time to party?" Roman frowned at Melinda. This discussion wasn't going anywhere.
"The Capital had four Noble Houses so it was fine, if no one were able to act as a host. And, the Academy did it on their own. It was to avoid unnecessary tension. But, what about Trinity?" Melinda raised her head, looking at Roman.
"We need to at least be present. Not to mention, my name has already been given out as the special guest." She further added.
"Do hell with it! I am shutting it down! I am not letting either you or Lora go anywhere!" Roman had enough of it. He had been running all around the city. And, he didn't have anything in his hand as of yet.
This was really starting to tick him off as well as stress him out. He almost went to Omen's mansion to kill them, and end it for good. But, Melinda had somehow managed to stop him at the end.
"Don't be stupid. Just because there is danger doesn't mean we will hide in our homes," Melinda retorted, "Not to mention, we already have raised the security to maximum. There are even Elders being deployed. What more do you need?"
"If those people really dared to come, then it would really be a relief that we could finally get this over with."
"I agree with her, Roman." Fanet intervened as he looked at Roman. "If you guys just keep laying low, there is no way for you to catch whoever the culprit is. They would just lay low for the right opportunity. You just can't hide forever. And, even if you adults can understand it, what about your daughter?"
"She will understand, I know my daughter well," Roman believed that Lora would understand it.
"Understanding is one thing, and being happy with it is another." Melinda looked at him, and sighed. Her husband was a stubborn guy.
"Besides, we have deployed a lot of people to protect her, and even your newly reunited friend is there. Do you really think that this place is a lot safer than her current situation?"
Roman couldn't retort to any of it. It was actually true, they had deployed quite a strong force. Even Roman himself wouldn't come out alive if he tried to do anything funny. So, unless the person in question themselves did something, there was no way for their enemies to even touch their hairs.
"I think we are done here, there shouldn't be any more trouble regarding this matter. And, just to give you a bit of more reassurance, I will ask all the Academy's Instructors to be on guard." Fanet smile at Roman seeing that he was still frowning.
…
Lorenz Residence..
The people around here had enjoyed their time to the best. For some reason, even though Elly had prepared herself to face Aria, she didn't ask her anything. This made both her and Lisa frown. They clearly knew that Aria wasn't someone who would easily let things go.
Maybe she hadn't started anything because of Lisa and Lora. As soon as the two came in front, things got a bit weird. There was a strange silence which seemed to kill everyone's mood.
Lora tried to gather her resolve, but for some reason she couldn't just go in front of Lisa. It was still fine with others, but Lisa was different for her. The fact that Lisa's mother was no more always weighed down heavily on her.
Maybe she could have saved her.
She was too afraid to confront Lisa about it. Not to mention, Lisa had forgotten things. Lora didn't even know if it was right to mention it to her or not. This made it even harder for her to explain things to Lisa. After all, if she didn't explain why she did what she did, they probably wouldn't be able to make up.
The situation between them was not so simple after all.
"Are you guys coming to the welcoming party as well?" Rias asked with a smile as she looked at Elly and Lesia.
Elly shook her head. She had no use there. She wasn't even in the competition.
Lisa immediately grabbed Elly's hand, "You are coming, I won't take any excuse."
"Yes, it would be no fun without you." Aria nodded as well.
"We have an invitation as well, I didn't plan to go. But, now that you are here, I am sure you would go instead of Aunt, won't you dear?" Teresa brought out an invitation and handed it to Elly.
It seemed that she had no choice now.
"Why are you so quiet, Lora?" Rias asked her with a smile. She had seen the girl before with Lear, and she didn't seem to be the quiet type. But, since last night, she seemed to have not spoken much.
"No, it's not like that…" Lora shook her head.
Rias had no idea about the situation between her and Lisa.
"You are going to be the center of attention at the party, Trinity's Princess," Rias gave her a teasing smile. "You have found your Prince after all?"
A smile appeared on everyone's face, and it really made Lora feel embarrassed. Her face turned red, and she wanted to run away from the place.
Only God knew how she was going to see Lear in the party.
Lear would be absolutely destroyed if she turned her head away from him in embarrassment.
Max would be happy if it happened though.
