Chapter 637 - Shock!
Warehouse Yard, Trinity.
Max had split up with Erina and Axel, and was currently headed towards the place where the strongest presence was stationed at. As long as he could deal with this person, things would be fine.
Within a minute, Max arrived at the place. He didn't try to hide his presence at all and just straight walked into the place. After all, it wasn't everyday that he got to be in a dominant position like this.
"Who are you?" One of the people finally noticed Max walking towards them, and asked with a frown.
"..."
"Are you deaf?" Another one chimed in when there was no reply from Max.
This immediately grabbed the attention of people around, and one of them shouted, "I haven't seen him around! He is not one of us!"
Those words immediately made the people around frown.
"Catch him! Let's see who sent this brat here.." The person in command ordered, and one of the people immediately walked ahead with wind coiling around his body. And, the next second, he shot forward.
"Whoosh!"
The people around were almost about to turn their heads back to their businesses thinking that the trouble was dealt with when a noise rang out.
"Bang!"
When they turned their heads back, they saw Max still walking towards them with blood dripping down his fist. As for the man, his body was behind Max half the way into the ground. He was half buried with his head into the ground and part above his waist sticking out.
"Attack!"
It was obvious now that they had underestimated the kid. He definitely wasn't someone to be taken so lightly.
A few dozen people immediately shot towards Max with their weapons drawn out.
Max immediately pulled his spear out as well and threw it up in the air letting it hover around him like a guarding beast.
"Whoosh!"
He then moved like a wind with the spear thrusting out on its own piercing straight through the first man while Max lashed out with a kick, sending the man in front flying away in the distance.
"Bang!"
A sword immediately came slicing down from his side, but it was too slow in his eyes. He just calmly took a step aside dodging the blade by a hair's breadth before clenching his fist, and throwing it out with a gust of wind accompanying from behind.
"Bang!"
Blood immediately splashed out of the man's mouth as he was sent flying out of the place and even knocked two other of his fellow teammates in the process, who could only squirm on the ground in pain with broken bones from the impact.
"Careful! He is not your ordinary kid!" The leader of the group shouted, alerting his team.
The group immediately acted accordingly, and slowed down trying to catch their breath and reorganize themselves.
"What's this commotion all about?" A feminine voice sounded in the vicinity as a lady appeared at the sight of the battle.
"Miss…" The commander immediately broke out in cold sweat seeing the lady arrive.
Max looked at her, and her description sure matched from what he had heard from Axel and Erina.
It was definitely her.
"Hmmn?" Anya's eyes finally fell on Max and a frown immediately appeared on her face as she raised her hand and stopped her people, "Leave!"
"But, Miss.."
"Didn't you hear me? Don't make me repeat myself!" Anya's voice turned icy cold, and the person immediately shut his mouth before leaving with the group.
Max looked at the lady, he was wondering what this was all about.
Was she trying to fight him all alone?
Well, he surely didn't mind it though.
"Aren't you Max?" Anya looked at Max as she finally spoke with a calm look on her face.
"You know me?" Max asked in surprise. Well, it seemed that his fame had spread far and wide.
"Sure, I do." Anya looked at him, "Frankly, I heard a lot.."
"So, what are you doing here? I am sure you were here in Trinity for all of a different reason," She further spoke.
Max frowned a bit, feeling some underlying meaning in her words.
Why did it feel like she was aware about what he was here for?
"And, you better give me a valid reason for trying to interfere with my work. If not, I really wouldn't care whether you are Stark's disciple or my brother's favorite…" Her expression immediately turned menacing as as broadsword appeared on her shoulder.
'What's going on?' Max definitely had fallen into confusion. He didn't know how she knew about his Master. As for her brother's favorite, Hell, he didn't even know who her brother was!!
'Wait!' Max's eyes suddenly widened as he looked at Anya. He could finally see the shadow of a familiar figure overlapping her.
Dark Skin…
Orange Hairs…
Broadsword…
"Are you Murcas's sister?" Max couldn't help but ask in shock. This had to be a joke!
"Yes, I am Freya Diago."
Anya was just an alias for her mission. Her real name was Freya, and she was indeed Murcas's sister.
"Wait! What is going on here?" Max asked her with a frown.
"I am here on my mission, and you are interfering with it." Freya looked at Max with scrunched brows. If it was someone else, she definitely would have crushed the person before replying.
"I don't care what your mission is. But, don't go hurting my people for your stupid missions," Max replied with a frown on his face.
Freya's face immediately twitched as a vein popped up on her face. This kid was getting on her nerves.
"It's not a child's game here. Do you even know how much is at stake?" She glared at him in anger.
"Yes, I know. Even better than you. But, I would rather see the world burn than my people getting hurt."
"Y-You!!" Frey was really shocked at his words.
Max didn't care how much shock she was in. Greater good was only for people that you don't know. But, when it comes to any individual that you are familiar with, you definitely wouldn't want the blades to be pointed at them even if it meant for the 'greater good'.
Maybe he was a hypocrite, but that was something he couldn't change about him. After all, that was the driving force behind his action. If he was ready to lose himself and even the people around him, then just what was he fighting for?
"So, you are telling me that you still are going to block my path?" Freya asked as she looked at him with a menacing gaze. She wasn't here for any bullsh*t philosophy lessons.
"I surely will…" Max calmly replied as he looked at her.
