Chapter 657 - I Am The Lord!!
Roxley House, Trinity.
Melinda sat on the sofa with a heavy frown on her face. Her face was turned towards the guy sitting on his knees in front of her.
It was her husband and also the Lord of the House, Roman.
"I am sorry. I shouldn't have done it, Mam." He bowed down and apologized to her.
"Not only did you pull a prank on me involving our daughter, you even got Lear in that condition, and on top of that you went ahead and killed three elders…"
With each word, Melinda's expression turned darker and darker.
She was pissed.
"Wait! That brat's condition had nothing to do with-'' Roman raised his head in protest but stopped mid way feeling an intense killing intent being directed at him. He could literally see the figure of a Venomous snake forming behind her wife. He sure didn't want to mess with her in that state.
"You are not responsible?" Melinda asked as she stared at him with those cold looking eyes of hers.
"I-I mean…maybe…you know…partially responsible.." Roman's voice became quieter with each word, and was almost inaudible at the end.
"What did you say?! Speak out loud! Where did all the energy from yesterday go?!!" Melinda shouted in anger.
"It was my fault mam! I am extremely sorry!" Roman slammed his head down on the floor once again.
"I have somehow dealt with the deaths of the Elder, but for the other two problems. I don't know how you are going to make up for it.." Melinda looked at him with a threatening gaze.
She had actually used Red Eye and the other assassins as a Scapegoat to cover the three Elder's deaths. There were, after all, a lot of witnesses among their forces who knew that they had been attacked by assassins from Dark Society.
So, she fabricated a story that the three Elders including Omen had died in the fight. They had fought a heroic battle and protected the people of the city. She even announced a statue to be made for them.
And, to take revenge against the Dark Society, they were apparently launching a crusade against them which was obviously her taking advantage of Max's situation. Well, both of them were being benefited from it.
This helped Max to gain a lot of support from Roxley House, and these forces were driven by hunger for revenge. You can imagine they were no more ordinary soldiers on a battlefield, but monsters.
But, there was one disadvantage to it. Melinda had to retain her Elders from the fight. This was to ensure the protections of the city. After all, they had lost three Elders and had a few injured.
Even Roman was not allowed to participate. This definitely seemed to have balanced their contribution to their previous level.
If Roman could have participated in the fight, there was definitely not much to worry for Max. But, there was no way that Melinda was allowing him to do so. The Elders who had been close with Omen were still there, and a few among them seemed to be aware of what had actually happened.
No one knew what could go down the next instant in the House. So, it wasn't time for Roman to be leaving the House. He was to supposed to stay behind and make sure that everything remained under control.
On the other hand, Ander didn't seem to have any plans to move. He was busy taking care of his family, and Melinda sure didn't feel it right to ask him for help.
Besides, she didn't seem to be aware of what had gone down between Ander and Max.
"How can I make up for my sins?" Roman looked at Melinda with a pitiful look on his face.
"First of all, you are to inform Lora about everything that has happened." Melinda stared at him, and Roman broke out in sweat.
"Do we really have to do that? I am sure there isn't a need for that.."
"You will do it." Melinda said in a stern tone. She wasn't giving him an option. It was practically an order for him to follow.
Roman immediately had his face turn ugly. He was afraid that Lora would begin to hate him after hearing the truth. If that happened, he wouldn't know what to do.
"Secondly, you had the guts to play a prank on me involving Lora?" Melinda smiled at him, and Roman felt the hairs on his body rising. Something bad was about to happen.
"I have packed your stuff. You will be camping in the garden until the next year, you aren't allowed inside the house."
"Huh?" Roman looked at her with a dumbfounded look on his face.
"Y-You are joking, right?" He asked with a shaky voice.
"You will soon find out…" Melinda replied with a smiled, before speaking out again, "Take him out.."
Two servants entered the room, and looked at Roman with a hesitant look on their faces.
"Who do you think is more scary?" Melinda asked them with a gentle look on her face, and their lips twitched.
In the end, they quietly walked towards Roman and grabbed him by the shoulders.
"Y-You!! Do you know who I am?" Roman glared at them, but the two just turned their heads away pretending not to even see him.
"If you try to do anything to them, you will see the worse of me, dear.." Melinda's chilling voice entered Roman's ears as he was planning to forcefully free himself from the restraint.
"I am your husband, you can't do this to me!" Roman looked at her with a face full of sweat.
"What are you two waiting for?" Melinda totally avoided the guy, and looked at the two Servant, "Do you need me to say every word to you? Throw him out.."
"No! I am the Lord!! You can't do this to me!!!" Roman's scream continued to ring all the way through the hallway as he was dragged by the two Servants.
Every people in the mansion just turned their heads away, seeing him being dragged away. They all just pretended that they had never seen it happening.
When they finally reach the door of the mansion, the two servants stopped and were planning to let go of Roman politely when Melinda's voice once again rang out.
"I said to throw him out.."
The two couldn't help but look at each other with faces full of tears. They were just common people. Why in hell did they have to get dragged into this?
In the end, the two looked at Roman who was staring at them with a dumbfounded face, and then threw him out of the house.
"Crash!"
The two didn't even wait for Roman to crash, and immediately disappeared like wind after slamming the doors shut.
