Chapter 711 - Testing The Limits

"Yeah, Wilson had got something from Neo. But, it later was stolen from him as well. And, I don't know where it went. But, was it really precious? It looked like a piece of garbage to me," Max replied.

Talia was just confirming the information that she had received from Yules and it seemed to be right.

"Did Wilson recognize that weapon?" Talia further asked with a calm look on her face.

"No, he didn't have any idea about it. He just snatched it from Neo, because that guy considered it very important to him for some reason." Max shook his head.

"Ok, you can go for now. But remain in my touch. You know whose side you are on now, don't you?"

"Yes, I am on your side." Max smiled at her, but was definitely laughing at her. He knew that she hadn't trusted him. But, for now this was enough.

"Can I leave now?" Max asked, looking at her.

Talia gave him a nod.

Max turned around, and saw Travis glaring at him.

"Stop staring at me like that. I am not gonna steal your mother away from you."

"You b*stard!!" Travis finally snapped. He immediately took a step forward and swung his fist.

"Bang!"

A loud noise rang out in the room, and Travis staggered back before crashing onto the table behind. He was holding his nose which clearly was bleeding.

"Y-You!!"

"What do you mean 'you'?!! I am my lady's knight! You cursing at me is no different than cursing at her!! You have a death wish?!!"

"How dare you call her a b*stard?!!"

Talia's face turned dark. She knew this guy was intentionally doing it. A slight frown had emerged on her face, but she maintained her silence. It was important for her son to learn to deal with all kinds of people.

"I am telling you mom!! This guy will only create trouble for us!! Let's kill him here!!" Travis glared at Max.

"Should I take that as a threat? Do you not know that threatening a Queen's knight is the same as threatening the Queen. In the Ancient times it would result in execution. I wonder what I should do to you now?" Max smiled as he took a step toward him, and Travis's face immediately turned pale as he looked towards his mother for help.

"Enough! I am tolerating you now doesn't mean that I have to continue to do so. Learn to stop at the right time, or it will get you killed." She let Max off with a warning.

But, Max had already seen his worth in her eyes. She wouldn't try to do anything unless he really went overboard.

Max looked at Travis one last time with a smug look on his face before calmly walking out of the room.

As soon as Max was gone, Travis immediately turned his head towards her mother.

"What are you thinking? That guy is trouble!!"

"Then you need to learn to deal with trouble," Talia calmly replied to him. "He is an important piece for our plan. We need him right now. As for the slight inconvenience, it is nothing in front of the benefits we get from him."

"But-"

"Learn to make good judgments. And, are you provoked so easily?" Talia interrupted him. She was really disappointed in him.

"We can't trust him, Mom."

"I never asked you to trust him. Besides, he is under my control. He won't be able to go against us." Talia felt that everything was under her palms.

"If everything is under your control, then why do I have to step back in front of him. He punched me in front of you!"

Talia frowned at her son's behavior, but still calmly explained it to him, "Did you see how he acted right now?"

"That kind of person either is very good at acting or has a few screws loose in his head. I am not interested to find which one it is for now."

"So, you too learn to control yourself. Because if he is really the latter, then he might not take it lying down if you provoke him. And, at worst, I will have to kill him because of you. But, it would only lead to trouble if he dies in Ocien."

"Not to mention, I used my Royal Blood on him. Don't you know how wasteful it would be if he dies without being of any use?" Talia looked at him, and Travis could clenched his fist in anger. But, after calming down, he finally nodded his head.

"Fine, I will follow your words." He understood it too. Besides, it was not like he wouldn't be able to get his revenge on that guy. After all he was just a servant. When his use was over one day, he would be disposed.

Travis was going to make sure that he would be the one to do Max that pleasure when the time came.

Max appeared on the other side, and the clone disappeared.

'What was that now?' Andriel asked him, 'Where are you trying to flirt with that Aunt?'

Max was really left speechless. She herself was too old to be calling her aunt. But, Max obviously didn't dare to say that to her face.

"I was just trying to test her level of tolerance. Besides, I am really pleased with Travis. That guy has a short fuse, he can be used easily…" An evil smile leaked out on Max's face.

She was trying to use him. Too bad she didn't succeed. Now, it was his turn to show her how to control other people, and that too without going through any of the bullsh*t that she did.

Max returned to his room, and when he did, he found Naze there. The guy was finally back.

"Where the hell were you?" Max asked with a frown. He really wanted to punch this guy.

"Calm down, I brought some information that you would be interested in." Naze smiled.

"What is it?" Max asked with raised brows.

"It's about the Previous Lady of the Scarlet House..."
