Chapter 817 End Of Path
Ancestral Hall, Crimson House.
The Matriarch sat on her seat with a dark look on her face. Beside her, the Second Matriarch was having a hard time controlling her laughter. She knew that if she laughed now, her sister was surely to fly in a fit of rage.
But, who could have expected that Max would destroy all their beliefs like that, and surpass his limits. They clearly had underestimated the brat by a huge margin.
The Second Matriarch was actually more surprised by Max's achievement in his water element. The level of Control and destruction wasn't something that ordinary people could achieve.
'A genius who has fully inherited the blood of Starfall..' There was a little smile on the Second Matriarch's face as she thought about it. It seemed that fate hadn't totally given up on her family. She was sure that the Starfall's bloodline would continue to thrive through Max.
"Tsk…these useless fellows. They can't even catch a brat. Is this how weak our people are.." The Matriarch was finally losing her calm in anger.
"He is very sly. I won't blame them if they fail to catch him." Second Matriarch tried to soothe her sister's anger, but it only seemed to do the opposite.
"So, what? Don't you see the difference in number? Are we supposed to allow one sly guy to trample all over us?!"
'Ah! She snapped..' The Second Matriarch smiled bitterly inside. She knew that both Max and the people who were sent to pursue him would have it coming soon. Especially their own people. They had ashamed her, and with her character, she wouldn't let them go that easily.
…
Military Camp, Border Area, Crimson Spatial Pouch.
The Commander in Chief of the Army stood there with a dark look on his face. He had just received a message from the Matriarch herself. And, one look at his face, and you knew that it wasn't something good.
At this moment, a soldier entered the camp with a nervous look on his face, "Sir, the intruder managed to slip away from Team-4.."
"Again?" The Commander looked at the guy and slammed the desk, almost splitting it into two, "Are you guys kidding me?!! A brat who is still wet behind the ears has made you all into clowns!!"
"Are you f*cking soldiers!! You can't even catch a little kid!! How the f*ck will you defend our people in case of an invasion!!"
"Don't tell me I need to personally go out for this brat!!!"
The Soldier could only lower his head in shame, and listen to all of it. It wasn't like they couldn't deal with Max in a fight. It was just that the brat was running away every time instead of fighting.
And, he was even more slippery than a soap. There were people pulling their hairs in anger right now while searching for that brat somewhere in the forest.
The commander turned his head away from the guy, and looked at the map on his table.
'We are not allowed to use the Grandmasters…but these fools can't stop the brat..Tsk..what a troublesome situation. Only, if that old hag allowed us to mobilize one more division or the Knights..'
But, even he understood that deploying the Knights would truly be an embarrassing situation for them.
'There is only one option left now..we need to encircle him, and trap him. It wasn't possible earlier as we didn't know where he exactly was, but now..'
With that, he immediately passed forward the plan to his people. And, he left them a few words before sending them away.
"One hour, I give you one goddamn hour. Bring that brat here or else, you don't need to return." Those words were spoken with a smile on his face, but people who saw it could feel a chill down their spine.
….
"Don't stop!! Search for him!! Or else we are dead!!"
"Damn! I will still be happy if that old monster kills me peacefully…"
When the Commander's words spread among the soldiers, it was as if someone had injected them with steroids.
Max on the other hand was running away from people as well.
"Damn it! What the hell is this?!! A Zombie apocalypse?" He could only curse in anger. No matter where he went, he was found out by them. The only good thing was that they weren't able to stop him from leaving.
But, there was a group who was entirely capable of hunting down Max, and it was the group of Master Tier Mages who were hot on his trail. From what Max had heard until now, from the rambling of the soldiers, it seemed that it was the 13th Division who was deployed to deal with him. As this was their area of patrol.
And, among the 13th Division, there were 10 teams each headed by a Peak Grandmaster Tier Mage, and 5 Peak Master Tier Mages below him. And, then there was probably a whole lot more. But, that top number along was very terrifying.
Max could only deal with Peak Master Tier with no guarantee of coming out victorious. Especially, when there were probably fifty of them after him.
Thankfully, the area was not so small.
But as if Max had cursed his own luck, he started to realize that no matter which side he went, he would be found. These people had encircled him. It meant that he would have to break through one of the sides in order to escape.
But, was that possible?
'They got me good..' Max smiled bitterly and then raised his head to look up into the sky. And, sure enough, they had come for him. Blinken was there too, looking at Max with a smile on his face.
'Should I put up a fight?' Max smiled as wings extended on his back, and he ascended up into the sky surrounded by 50 people.
"So, this is the guy? He looks pretty young…even younger than the Blinken boy?" A woman with a charming face spoke as she looked at Max with interest.
"Does that matter? He is dead anyways.." A boorish looking middle aged man spoke as she gave Max a hostile look.
"That's why you are a fool, Rhino. Did you even listen to the orders properly?" An elegant looking man spoke with a calm look on his face.
"Shut up! Neat Freak! What else could the orders for an intruder be?!!" The Boorish guy retorted, and the others could only shake their heads helplessly.
"What are you going to do? Surrender or resist?" The elegant looking man ignored everyone and asked Max with calm face.
