Chapter 827 Slow Progress

'That's not like him..' Bahamut frowned a little. Something was odd about his father's behaviour. And, no matter how hard he tried to make sense of it, he couldn't.

'I will have to get to the end of it..' Bahamut muttered inwardly and waited in the mansion for his father's return. Not that he could go out. After all, he didn't have the liberty to roam around.

When his father returned, Bahamut immediately played his most amazing card.

A crying child...

This was the best way to get his father to show his true intent.

Bahamut was good at reading people. There was no doubt about it. Besides, when interacting with a child, one would have his guard down. Especially. If he was your own child.

"..Dad..sob! …is brother …fine..is he coming back? Sob!!..:" Bahamut balled his eyes out as he hugged his father.

"Don't worry..Felix..your brother is fine. I will find him soon, and bring him back to you.." Fergus smiled as he rubbed his son's head and calmed him down.

Uncle Giant who stood beside was having a hard time controlling his facial expression. He always wondered what kind of shock his Lord would feel if he knew the true face of this little monster.

'It's better if they live in the dark for the rest of their lives.. or at least until the little master completes his adolescence..' Uncle giant thought inwardly.

Bahamut on the other hand had finally calmed down, and was almost falling asleep after crying so much.

"Let me help the young master.." Uncle giant got up and took Bahamut away from the Lord. He had always been a child lover, and it was not unknown that he was literally Bahamut's babysitter. The two of them were always together in their free time, and people thought that he was just playing with the little kid, but the reality was a bit different.

The Lord smiled at the man, and passed Bahamut to him. It showed how much trust he had in Uncle Giant.

"We are here little master.." Uncle giant spoke as they entered the Bahamut's room upstairs, and the next instant, Bahamut's closed eyes opened up.

"Did you find anything?" Uncle giant asked as he let Bahamut down on the bed.

"I did a bit.." Bahamut nodded as he gave Uncle giant a glance.

"Oh.." Uncle Giant was a little surprised, but at this point of time nothing was impossible when it was done by this little monster.

"He is worried about brother, there is no doubt about it. But.." Bahamut suddenly paused, "Something is there which is giving him a strong hope…it feels as if he knows that brother is alive.."

"Is that even possible?" Uncle Giant asked with a frown. If the Lord knew that Faryl was alive, wouldn't he have gone to rescue him. Yet, there was not even an order to form the rescue team as of now.

"It shouldn't be possible. But, I know father. He wouldn't be this calm if he doesn't have something to rely on.." Bahamut concluded.

Uncle Giant too understood that. Fergus usually was in control, but the moment he lost it, it would be doomsday. And, with the current situation, the doomsday should have arrived by now. After all, what kind of parents could still remain this calm at their own child's death.

"It can only mean that there are some secrets that are yet to be uncovered. Not to mention, I am still unaware of a lot of things.." Bahamut spoke with a serious look on his face. He already knew that his family was hiding things from him and the world too.

It wouldn't be odd if there was a way for his father to locate his brother. Or a way to tell if he was alive or not. Maybe his family indeed had enough ability to find his brother, even if it meant searching the whole continent.

The possibilities were limitless until known..

On the other side…

Three days had passed since Max had entered the Spatial pouch.

"I can't find it anywhere on the surface.." Max frowned as he stood on the balcony looking around the place.

Even though he had been kept under surveillance, it didn't stop Max from being sneaky. He had attempted to escape a total of 12 times now, and was of course caught all the 12 times.

But, what people didn't know was that he had actually managed to sneak out his clone from the place. And, was currently searching around for the Cemetery.

Of course, Max worked very cautiously this time. Besides, he hadn't alerted everyone like before this made him have an easy time travelling around. Aside from that, the good thing about this clone was that even though it didn't have his strength, it was definitely better than his original body when it came to its ability to go unnoticed,

Max could easily control his life energy when in his clone, and make himself seem like a normal person. And, in fact, if he controlled the amount of life energy he put in the clone, he could actually become a person with normal human ability.

By now, he pretty much had a good idea about the city's layout. But, the Ancient Cemetery he was trying to find was not somewhere visible to people's eyes.

It didn't seem that he was going to find it anytime soon at this rate too.

On the other side, things weren't moving fast as he expected when it came to communication with the Crimsons. The Second Matriarch had paid him one visit in three days. This made Max realized that they were trying to observe him. And, he knew that it was going to take time at this rate.

It was a good thing that he had made preparations outside for such a situation.

He knew it would be too optimistic of him to think that he would come and ask them for help, and they would agree to it.

After all, this was their first meeting, they weren't even sure if they stood on the same side, how the hell would they be willing to help Max when they weren't even clear if he was their friend.

Aside from that, help could only be provided to those with capability or potential. But, Max believed that he had shown enough to pass in that test.

Now, he just needed Old man Sun's help to get on a talking ground, and convince that he was a friend to the Crimsons.
