Chapter 201: A Beauty and a Beast!

The sky finally brightened.

Unexpectedly, Ling Feng wasn't the first to rise in the Tianwu Academy's East Court on this day.

After a night of turmoil, Ling Feng had finally managed to rest for a while before he heard a series of knocks on his door.

"Big Brother, Big Brother, wake up quickly!"

It was Ouyang Jing's voice.

Ling Feng felt a sense of resignation as he rubbed his temples. Then, like a springing carp, he leaped up from his bed and opened the door to find Ouyang Jing and Jiang Xiaofan standing outside.

"Big Brother, today is the day when all the yellow-tier students in our East Court gather. Apparently, all the mentors who teach us courses will have a brief meeting with us!"

Noticing Ling Feng's sleepy expression, he couldn't help but ask curiously, "Big Brother, were you out thieving last night? Why do you look so tired?"

Ling Feng shot him a glance and replied irritably, "I was abducted by thieves! Anyway, I'm up now, aren't I?"

With that, Ling Feng quickly got dressed, washed up in the courtyard, and departed from Tianshu East Court with Ouyang Jing and Jiang Xiaofan, making their way to the training ground in the East Court.

Within Tianwei Academy, instructors typically taught various cultural subjects and foundational knowledge, while those who imparted martial skills to students were known as mentors.

Tianwei Academy primarily trained individuals destined to serve the empire as elites and leaders.

Hence, alongside martial training, courses covered imperial history, military strategies, military classics, national policies, diplomacy, and even rituals and music.

Additionally, subjects such as alchemy, forging, medical arts, cultivation, and beast taming were also included in the curriculum.

Although the curriculum for yellow-tier students was extensive, during the final promotion assessment, martial prowess remained the predominant criterion.

And of course, in situations where martial strength was relatively equal, one's overall capabilities came into play. After all, being a general required more than just martial prowess; true leadership demanded exceptional wisdom and strategic ability, qualities that Tianwei Academy strived to impart to all its students.

Before long, all two hundred students from the East Court stood in disciplined formation on the martial arts square, holding their breath and awaiting the mentors' and instructors' instructions.

Glancing around, Ling Feng spotted several familiar faces. To his surprise, he noticed that Qin Wanwan and Liu Yunfei, the cousins, had also been assigned to the East Court.

When Liu Yunfei caught sight of Ling Feng, he greeted him warmly, only to receive a fierce glare from Qin Wanwan, who immediately pulled back his outstretched hand.

Qin Wanwan gestured a throat-slitting motion toward Ling Feng, then clenched her fist, clearly signaling the threat: "I'll make you pay!"

Ling Feng shook his head, unfazed.

Though she may speak harsh words and be unruly sometimes, she wasn't really mean-spirited.

Before long, a line of individuals slowly made their way onto the platform at the front of the martial arts square, led by a man and a woman.

The man, clad in a green robe and sporting a full beard, had a rugged appearance.

Beside him stood a woman with a hot figure, boasting long legs and a slim waist. She wore a light blue chiffon dress that accentuated her curves perfectly, appearing only a few years older than the students below.

Behind them stood mostly middle-aged individuals, some stout, some with graying hair, and all appearing quite serious.

Once all the mentors and instructors were in position, the man with the full beard cleared his throat and said in a cold tone, "You little bastards, now that everyone is here, let me introduce myself first. I'm Leng Jianfeng. From today onward, I'll be your instructor, responsible for your daily martial skill training!"

After his remarks, a slight smile graced Leng Jianfeng's face. "I believe it won't be long before I become the nightmare of you rookies!

"Hehehe..." Leng Jianfeng chuckled coldly a few times, and then turned to the female mentor beside him and cleared his throat. "Next, let's hear from Mentor Su Qingxuan."

Stepping forward from beside Leng Jianfeng, the stunning woman spoke with an indifferent tone. "I am Su Qingxuan. Besides teaching you imperial history, I am also responsible, along with Instructor Leng, for this year's yellow-tier students in the East Court."

As Su Qingxuan spoke, her voice was very soft, a complete contrast to Leng Jianfeng's rugged demeanor. One was a beauty, the other a beast...

Following that, the mentors who taught various courses at the rear also introduced themselves one by one. However, it was evident that Su Qingxuan captured the attention of most, leaving the names and roles of the other mentors unheard.

"So many teachers, I can't remember them all!" Jiang Xiaofan stood beside Ling Feng, counting on his fingers with a troubled expression.

He was muscular but simple-minded. While he had no trouble practicing martial arts, studying academic subjects could be the death of him.

However, he didn't aspire to be a great general; he only wished to become a powerful martial artist, which would be enough to change his fate.

"Alright! Shut up, all of you!"

Seeing the students whispering below, Leng Jianfeng roared like an enraged leopard, emitting a chilling aura that swept over them.

In an instant, all the students shivered and fell silent, no longer daring to speak or even glance at the beautiful mentor.

"Hmph! A bunch of little bastards. You've not even grown your fur out and yet you're already so lecherous!"

Leng Jianfeng cursed loudly, a behavior that the surrounding mentors were accustomed to. However, Su Qingxuan, with a frosty expression, glared fiercely at Leng Jianfeng.

"Hehe..." Leng Jianfeng rubbed the back of his head, "Alright, that's it for today's meeting. Please return, mentors. I'll take care of these little bastards from now on!"

As he spoke, his gaze fell menacingly on the students below.

Everyone couldn't help but shiver. There was too much conveyed in that look.

Damn, the days ahead are definitely going to be tough!

Soon, Su Qingxuan and the other mentors departed one by one. Given that Tianwei Academy primarily focused on martial arts, it was only natural that Leng Jianfeng, the cold instructor, had the most interaction with the yellow-tier students.

Once the mentors left, Leng Jianfeng's true colors were revealed.

"Hey, look at this sorry lot! Not a decent one among you!"

Leng Jianfeng pointed accusingly at the students below, launching into a scathing rebuke. "You call yourselves geniuses? Folks back in my hometown, tilling the fields, could outperform you any day!"

Before his words had even settled, a wave of discontent erupted among the students.

Hailing from various empires, they had passed through layers of assessments to become yellow-tier students. To be ranked below farmers was deeply insulting.

As Leng Jianfeng observed the anger among the students below, a hint of cunning flashed in his eyes. "Hehe, what's this? Feeling defiant, are we? Good to know!"

Boom!

With a loud noise, Leng Jianfeng tossed out two hundred iron-made garments from his storage spirit ring and bellowed, "These are props made specifically for training your physical strength. Each one weighs five hundred pounds. Put on these iron armors and run one hundred laps around the martial arts square!"

"Remember this, none of you are allowed to use true qi! Hmph, if I catch anyone secretly using true qi, everyone will have to run an extra hundred laps!"

"Enough talk, now put on those iron armor suits and start running!"
