Chapter 33: Monotonous Tasks
While Zule explained the techniques to Aire, he took the chance to talk with Stella mentally. 'Stella, I thought I would have Light Element Affinity, but it seems like the Light Element can't heal others.'
Stella nodded, saying with a slight frown, 'I know. However, I can't tell you much about it since I also don't know why. Well, I probably do, but most of my memories are blocked together with my abilities.'
'You will have to think of something yourself. Perhaps you can use Kymei's idea. Wait until you reach the Stellar Manipulation Level and pretend you created the technique on your own.'
Aire shook his head in response as he responded, 'No can do. With Ramalia overseeing the school, the moment something as incredible as a healing ability appears, she'll probably consider me as a result of your disappearance.'
'Hmm...that's true.' Stella agreed with that point. 'Well, you can keep it hidden and only use it when necessary. Or you can also wait until you have a position high enough that displaying this ability won't become a reason for you to be a lab rat.'
'Well, I guess those are the only options.' Aire couldn't think about anything else either.
Following that, Aire opened the Mirage Riser Techniques and passed them to Stella. Of course, Aire simply pretended that he was taking a quick glance at them in front of Zule. 'Are these enough?'
As a support assistant, Stella was able to check the entirety of the techniques in just a few seconds. 'Hmm...to be honest, I would want at least a few hundred of them to make something good enough. However, such a thing is obviously impossible. Try to get Zule to give you Light Riser Techniques as well.'
Aire nodded before asking Zule, "Teacher Zule, you said that Light is connected to Mirage. Would you mind giving me Light Element Riser Techniques as well? I want to take them into consideration to work better around these Mirage Techniques."
Zule didn't seem to mind, responding, "Errr...sure...but I doubt you'll be able to come up with anything. After all, no one else was able to create other Mirage Techniques before."
Zule then smiled as he patted Aire's shoulder, continuing, "Well, who knows? Perhaps you can make some breakthrough there. Since you're taking Light Element Techniques, I'm going to give you the Dark Element ones as well. After all, control over darkness is also part of the Mirage Techniques."
Aire was happy to hear that and soon saw 13 more files appear in his communicator before Zule warned him. "As I've mentioned before, don't pass these files to anyone else, or I will be in quite some trouble."
Aire immediately responded, "Yes, teacher Zule."
A few hours later, Aire came out of Zule's lab and headed back to his dormitory. At the same time, he asked Stella, 'How is it? Did those techniques help with anything?'
Stella nodded with a smile, saying, 'Because there weren't many to start with, there wasn't much to be improved. Nevertheless, I compiled the best possible result after taking those techniques into consideration. Can I pass it onto you?'
Aire nodded, saying, 'Go ahead.'
As soon as Aire agreed, a stream of information began to enter Aire's head. 'That feels uncomfortable somehow...'
'Don't worry,' Stella reassured him. 'It's not like I can manipulate your existing memories. Besides, the system rules prevent me from trying anything that could harm you. All I'm doing is adding new information, which you've already agreed to take. If you disagree to receive any information, I can't add them to your memories.'
Aire sighed in relief, saying, 'That's good, then. Now that I think about it, this is a very convenient ability.' Aire couldn't help but have a few ideas on how he could use the feature.
Unfortunately for him, Stella knew what he was thinking about. 'You can't use it to learn everything in the school or anything else. It's part of your training to study and remember the information yourself. What if I'm not here anymore? Will you turn into a vegetable without me?'
'Sometimes I find you really useless...' Aire said with a disappointed expression. 'Oh well, whatever. Let's take a look at this Mirage Element Technique once I get back to the dormitory.'
As Aire expected, there was still no one in the room when he came back. In the end, the queues for any other occupation were just way too long, so Altina, Kymei, and Sera wouldn't be back anytime soon. Ignoring that, Aire went to his bed and began to use the technique.
Stellar Energy began to slowly enter his body, which Aire used to enhance his blood cells. Thanks to the Energy Blood Flow Assistance skill, his blood cells were able to carry a lot more Stellar Energy to his bones than others could. On top of that, the Mirage Technique also absorbed the elements in Aire's surroundings. In the end, everyone could use all elements. The difference was how good one would be with each one.
In Aire's case, Mirage Element was mainly focused on Light and Dark Elements...or, to be more specific, how to manipulate them and create illusory copies. Unfortunately, Aire wasn't at the Stellar Manipulation Level yet, so he couldn't control them at all. 'Nevertheless, I can at least guide them to the right places thanks to the Mirage Riser Technique. My improvement has become even faster now, but...'
Aire soon noticed a problem, and so did Stella. 'That's right. There's just not enough Stellar Energy around for you to use the full potential of your aptitude. Let alone the Energy Blood Flow Assistance and my Age of Mirage Technique.'
Aire couldn't help but ask, 'Age of Mirage?'
'Exactly! That's the name I gave it. Cool, right?' Stella seemed very proud of her naming sense.
Aire scratched the back of his head and decided to ignore the name as he asked, 'So, I guess I arrived at the point where I would need Stellar Energy Resources, right?'
'Yep. But it will take a few days until the Resource War starts. It might not be much Stellar Energy, but it's better than nothing. You better not have any other plans for now,' Stella said with a smile.
Aire shrugged his shoulders as he responded, 'If there's one thing I'm confident at, it would be my ability to endure monotonous tasks. This one just so happens to be one of them.'
