The Assassin's Enemy Lover

Chapter 217

Chapter 217

217 I did die, didn’t I?

At that question, the humanoid creature’s emotions changed drastically. If he had a face his brows would crease together with a look of utter vexation.

“Dead?.... I did die, didn’t I? I don’t rem, remember much,” he mumbled back an incoherent response as he backed up a step.

Zi Han swallowed back his tears that were on the verge of flowing as he walked forward no longer afraid.

He grasped the humanoid creature’s cold arms and asked, “Who did it? Who, who was it? I will avenge you.”

The humanoid creature that was slowly descending into mental breakdown raise his head and said, “Why? All I ever wanted for you was to be happy. This was never your fight.”

Zi Han shook his head vigorously while saying, “No, no, no how can I be happy without you? Mum has been miserable without you. I have lived with it. I have seen it. I have seen her pain clearly,” his voice becoming brittle the more he talked.

“Maybe if I avenge you she will, she will be able to heal,” he said before sniffling with his grasp on the humanoid creature’s arms getting tighter, “you have to remember.”

Zi Han waited for a long time but his father didn’t say anything. In fact, his mood was fluctuating so much that Zi Han couldn’t make sense of it. When he finally spoke the topic had gone so far off course that Zi Han was speechless.

“Did you like the house? I made a beautiful nursery for you and and I also bought you lots of toys for you to play with. I am sorry I missed all of your birthdays but Iggy kept your company didn’t he?”

.....

Zi Han wore a quizzical expression while wondering who the hell this Iggy was. Seeing that Zi Han didn’t respond, the humanoid creature pointed at the mech pendant hanging on his neck. Zi Han looked down in confusion and when he saw the mech brightly shining like the sun he recalled that memory where his father was talking to his mech.

“I didn’t even know it was a mech until now. I know what you are doing. You are trying to change the subject,” replied Zi Han as tears flowed at the corners of his bloodshot eyes.

“Don’t cry,” said the humanoid creature while wiping away the tears at the corners of Zi Han’s eyes, “dad will fix it. It’s just that your mother couldn’t withstand the pain of carrying an SS rank child.”

“It would put a strain on her body and mental health so I tempered with your mental power. I meant to fix it when you were born.”

Zi Han watched on as the humanoid creature raised his hand and rested his index finger a few inches in front of his forehead.

“I love you and your mother so much. I wish I could have watched you grow up,” he said and Zi Han suddenly had a bad premonition.

“No don’t....,” he said before his voice abruptly died down as faint wisps of light permeated through his forehead.

As the flow of energy slowly streamed into Zi Han the humanoid creature began to fade and the mental space surrounding him began to collapse.

After a minute or two the humanoid creature completely disappeared and so did the mental space. Zi Han collapsed to the floor knocked out cold.

Meanwhile, the creatures waiting outside the master bedroom for Yi Chen to come out suddenly shrieked and also vanished. A tranquil silence was restored throughout the villa but Yi Chen didn’t know that he was now out of danger.

He was struggling to stop the bleeding. If he had his mental power it would have stalled the bleeding but now that he was powerless he was losing blood faster than usual.

His face ghastly white he hesitated to press the extractor button. With a forehead laced with cold sweat, he raked his fingers through his hair while laughing at himself.

He wanted to press that button and get medical attention but for some reason, he couldn’t. He soon understood why he didn’t want to. It was because when he took a minute to look in the room he found something unexpected.

On the small pedestal was an old fashioned type of image. He slowly stood up and staggered over his body falling to the ground when he reached the pedestal.

His breathing arduous he picked up the picture. It was a framed image of the late prince and Zi Xingxi smiling at the camera.

Beside it was another framed image but it wasn’t of a person but an ultrasound image with the crossed out name little Hanifa written with a sharpie. Below the crossed out name was the name Han written in another handwriting.

Yi Chen grimaced from the pain as he leaned back resting against the side of the bed. Breathing cautiously he placed the two pictures in his storage before closing his eyes shut.

He had to get that device before he leaves this place. That’s because he knew if the military happens to do a final sweep of Dark Star and find out about this villa they might blame all this on the late prince.

Not only that they might also find out the prince had a son. He was in excruciating pain but he still had to do this. He had to find that device for Zi Han’s sake. If they find this out the prime ministers might use this as a reason to go after the Bloodgarde.

Yi Chen took out an epipen like device similar to the one Zi Han had and stabbed it into his shoulder. He drew in a cold breath of air before struggling to his feet.

As soon as he reached the same wall he had entered this safe house through he took out a few explosive devices he meant to throw at the creatures the moment that wall opened.

After encouraging himself for a while he reached out to the wall with his trembling hands. As expected the wall disintegrated in accordance with his height.
