The Assassin's Enemy Lover

Chapter 264

Chapter 264

264 Zi Han realises how much vinegar he can take

Sick of this shit Omari summoned his mental beast hyping up his strength. His eyes flashed a yellow light as a Siberian tiger-like beast bellowed behind him before he grabbed the throat of the creature and ripped its spine out from the front.

Omari was suddenly covered in blood. He flung the creature away while Zain finally managed to take out a cannon blaster and blew the stubborn creature’s head off.

Zain kicked the creature away and as he got up he muttered, “I, I had no choice.” What Zain meant was that he had no choice but to use the blaster which made a lot of noise attracting more of those Caspers.

“More will be coming soon,” said Omari patting his shoulder in reassurance before walking over, picking up the boy, and carrying him out.

“Send him over and be discreet,” said Li Ran before the floating screen vanished and smoke wafted out of the computer system the young man was using before. Li Ran had fried it erasing any and all data.

As soon as they left a horde of deadly phantoms appeared in the small room from the tunnel attracted by the noise but the place was empty.

Meanwhile, Yi Chen found a relatively safe place to hide the person who was being dragged earlier. It was a young woman about their age wearing ceremonial regalia like she was performing a sacred ritual before she was grabbed by the creature.

What surprised him was that her hands and feet were bound which possibly meant that this wasn’t of her own will. Yi Chen removed the restraints while Zi Han stared down at the markings on her body. Because Seon was in danger he had done extensive research about this planet.

It was a sacred place where plenty came to reconnect with their spirituality but on the far side of the planet were outliers who delved into the untapped sinister side.

.....

Ever since the disappearance started a few such outliers believed that it was done by an angry god who had been neglected by them thus they would kidnap young women and tie them up before sending them to the caves in the mountains as a sacrifice to keep the god satisfied hence protecting the rest of the clan. This cruel method seemed to work because they wouldn’t be any disappearances for a month.

“It seems they thought this would save them like before but they didn’t count on the female rising from her slumber. She will need more nutrients when awake than asleep to mature her younglings,” explained Zi Han leaning against the tunnel wall. Yi Chen took out something from his medical kit and placed it underneath her nose to wake her up.

“We should leave her here. Do you have an extra invisibility device?” asked Yi Chen and Zi Han took it out. Before he could hand it to her the girl woke up and when she saw the two men she opened her mouth to scream. It seemed in her daze she didn’t realize they were wearing military gear.

Yi Chen immediately closed her mouth with his hand and gestured for her to keep it down before pointing at his badge. Zi Han felt slight annoyance as he averted his gaze. He tapped his light brain and decided to tell Hela that they should check the mountains. It seemed there were still people hiding there.

While he was pretending like he wasn’t feeling sour, Yi Chen let go of the girl and asked, “Are you okay?”

She tremblingly nodded her head while glancing over at the other young man who was tapping something. By coincidence, Zi Han happened to glance over there and met her eyes. Terrified the girl looked away lowering her head.

Zi Han, “...”

Was he that scary? Did he look like a fuckin ghost or something?

What he didn’t realize was that she was especially sensitive to hostile vibes no matter how subtle they were. It was all because of what she had been through.

Zi Han walked back and said, “I sent Hela a message they will search the mountains. Let’s go,” while placing the invisibility device on the rock she was leaning on. She subconsciously shrank away but Zi Han didn’t hold it against her. She was probably still in shock or something.

Yi Chen pointed at the device and said, “Hold that in your hands and press the center button. The creatures won’t be able to see you. When we are done we will come back and get you.”

His voice was cold and his tone indifferent but she somewhat felt safe with him. Thus when she heard him say that she clutched his hand and shook her head vigorously.

“Don’t, don’t lea-leave... please,” she said only for Zi Han to press the tip of his tongue on his cheek in annoyance. He felt a stifling feeling rise to his throat like he would suffocate to death if he stayed here.

Yes, she was a weak girl who had been through a traumatic experience but he couldn’t help how he felt. Like a victim rescued out of a burning building by a firefighter, she was imprinting on him which Zi Han couldn’t stand.

What did he do in this situation? Like a freaking adult, he spoke in a stiff voice, “You stay with her. I will get Zain and Omari to back me up,” before turning to leave.

The gaze he used to stare at the hand holding Yi Chen was so intense and terrifying enough to have a dog whimpering with its tail tucked in between its legs.

Yi Chen was no fool. He could sense his lover’s displeasure from a mile away. He moved her hand away as nicely as he possibly could and said, “We really can’t stay. Just use that and keep silent. This will be over soon.”

After saying this he gave her a bottle of water and a packet of snacks before following after Zi Han. Zi Han had already picked one of the tunnels and walked a small distance before stopping his breathing heavy.

Over the course of their relationship, he hadn’t been in this kind of situation in a long time thus he hadn’t realized how much worse his reaction could be.

He was slowly realizing that he was a very jealous and extremely possessive person. He just didn’t notice because they had been spending so much time together and rarely interacted with any outsiders who weren’t aware of their relationship. Now that he had gotten into this position he realized how much more ugly the creature was. Yi Chen belonged to him and only him.

The fact that he left Yi Chen alone with that girl made him so upset that he decided to turn back. Just as he raised his leg he bumped into that someone and his heart jolted in fright.

“You left me, why?” asked Yi Chen directly facing Zi Han.
