Chapter 357
Chapter 357
357 “Sir, sir.... please restrain your grief,”
Heartbreak is an overwhelming feeling of distress or a feeling of great sadness that everyone would get to experience at least once in their lives.
The way people react to this feeling differs. Some people take the approach of out of sight out of mind and take time out to deal with this soul crushing pain.
Others find themselves filling that void with comfort food while others do physical exercise to numb the feeling from their hearts.
Others shut down mentally and physically closing themselves off from the entire world while others blacken and somewhat develop stalkerish tendencies trying to get back together.
The path to healing from such excruciating pain differs but the end goal is the same. Zi Han was going through the same emotion. He was sitting in his mech in a daze overlooking the mountains.
He knew that this pain he was feeling was of his own making but he was certain it was the right decision. Now he understood the meaning of the phrase, “If you love someone, set them free.” He could hold on to Yi Chen and fight but at what cost?
Like the Marshal said, things would only get worse from here on out. Despite his reasons for killing the prime minister being valid, he was still the most wanted man in the federation while Yi Chen was the future Marshal, the pillar of the federation.
At the thought of not being a part of Yi Chen’s life anymore, Zi Han’s heart ached overwhelmingly. He clutched his chest and cried out while squeezing his eyes shut tightly till it hurt. Warm tears trickled down as he lay his head on the control panel of his mech.
This appearance had Igneous very concerned for him. “Sir, sir.... please restrain your grief,” it said but it only made things worse. The pain in his chest was even stronger than the pain of having his hand broken.
.....
Igneous was so worried that he kept urging Chronos along. Soon a stealth cruiser appeared in front of Zi Han and a figure leapt out from it.
Chronos vanished and Zi Xingxi rushed over. “Igneous... disengage,” she yelled and the mech obediently disengaged leaving behind Zi Han lying on the ground with one leg bent at the knee as he wept.
Zi Xingxi knelt down and hugged her son tightly while whispering, “It’s okay, shh... it’s okay. Mummy is here.”
Secretary K showed up soon after and looked at his broken hand his expression stern. When he touched it, Zi Han’s body trembled uncontrollably but they couldn’t leave it like that. Zi Xingxi could only coax her son while stroking his hair soothingly.
“Shh... bear with it, okay? I will break that bastard’s arm as well,” she said her eyes flashing with a hint of maliciousness.
This experience was incredibly difficult for Zi Xingxi. The baby she loved and raised with the outermost care was treated in such a way by an ungrateful bastard. She wouldn’t let this matter go.
“Ma’am, we can’t stay here any longer. Their mechs are approaching. They are probably on patrol,” said Lynn Feng through the communication channel.
Zi Xingxi picked up her son and took him away. An even greater rift had formed between the two forces and the damage was irreparable. There was simply no saving it.

The violent storm that had stirred up in the Onyx federation after the prime ministers’ mysterious disappearances had finally calmed. All of them were back in office and made a public appearance condemning prime minister Ju’s deeds.
Their words were rebuking but Zi Feiji knew that they weren’t too broken up about it. It was all for show. In truth, they were glad the royal family had been dealt with and they had a fall guy as well.
But just as calm was restored news surfaced causing a stir once more. Three military bases were blown up simultaneously including a part of the military headquarters. No one was saying it but in truth, everyone knew who exactly did it. It’s not like the Bloodgarde tried to hide it.
The Marshal had stabilized his position but in turn, he had offended the Bloodgarde. Zi Xingxi was especially relentless with her attacks and Zi Feiji did nothing to stop her. When he saw his grandson lying dejected in the healing capsule his heart broke into a million pieces.
He called the Marshal but the man didn’t return his calls. Zi Feiji laughed at himself for thinking that their old relationship had any meaning to Yi Zhen.
Zi Feiji tried to get hold of Yi Chen but something seemed to have happened to him. He had simply vanished and no one knew where he was. It was as though he had been wiped off the surface of the federation.
After that Zi Feiji didn’t bother to restrain Zi Xingxi. Since this was the path the Marshal had chosen then he could only deal with the consequence of his actions.
The clashes between the Bloodgarde and the army had led to the prime ministers officially putting a label on the Bloodgarde. Afraid that Zi Xingxi will start a war they cautiously labelled the Bloodgarde as a rogue organisation and that their personnel shouldn’t engage with them directly.
But to uphold the laws of the Federation and prevent acts of vigilantism they still harshly labeled Zi Han as the top on the most wanted list thus his face was all over StarNet and the reward for his capture was temptingly high.
As for the most wanted criminal, he wasn’t fairing well. He had been shut in for days to the point that his grandfather began to worry. His daughter who was supposed to watch over her son was out taking revenge on the Marshal. Her attacks were simply to lure the Marshal out and beat the shit out of him. Hydra and Chronos would have to face off and battle against each other but no matter what, Marshal Yi wouldn’t take the bait.
He would send personnel to defend against the Bloodgarde’s assault but he would never come out personally.
She ended up hacking into Lin Ruoxi’s light brain that had been barred from receiving outside calls except those coming from the Marshal just so that she could inform her. Since he wouldn’t personally come out and answer for breaking her son’s hand she weaponized Lin Ruoxi.
Lin Ruoxi didn’t disappoint. She tore through the Marshal’s mask and said a whole lot of things that couldn’t be taken back. At least her efforts managed to get him to set Yi Chen free. Apparently, her husband had used his authority to restrain Yi Chen and prevent him from doing anything stupid. Lovesick people were the most dangerous especially when they were out of love.
