Chapter 533 - 533 Yeoh Jun still taking care of business
533 Yeoh Jun still taking care of business
The prime ministers who already foresaw their impending deaths suddenly had nothing to lose. They opened their mouths and began to rebuke Yeoh Jun’s actions to his face.
“You fabricated evidence against us just to gain power...”
“Yes, this is all your design. Who knows if this story about the Republic is even true....”
“You probably colluded with the Republic just to overthrow the elected government...”
They spoke over each other shouting excitedly as though afraid that no one would hear them.
Zi Xingxi drew the Executioner’s Blight with a whoosh. She was about to take a step forward and directly end their lives as she was in every right to do so when Yeoh Jun placed his hand over hers.
He convinced her to sheath the sword and Zi Xingxi could only take a step back. The soft gaze he had on his face when facing Zi Xingxi vanished completely when he stood up and looked at them.
His hands resting behind his back he said, “This is fascinating. Please carry on. We would love to hear what you have to say to us,” his voice a big contrast to the smile on his face. The aura surrounding him transformed completely making one’s knees soften in fright. When he spoke his voice touched every nerve in their bodies forcing them to submit.
Wise ones knew to keep their mouths shut but among them were arrogant fools who wouldn’t stop talking due to lack of knowledge.
.....
“... We were chosen by the people to be their leaders. The monarch fell a long time ago.”
“... You probably conspired with your son to murder prime minister Ju. Did you kill him because he discovered your secret?”
“Or did you kill him because you felt like it? It makes sense. After all, you fell in love with a bloodthirsty killing machine who has no regard for human li-,” said one of the old men who had been part of the faction to ruin the royal family. But before he could continue with his speech Yeoh Jun directly kicked him and his body rolled down the stairs. People watched on in horror as the man’s body fell down two hundred flights of stairs. Yeoh Jun could tolerate others scolding him but he couldn’t stand anyone insulting his wife. Thus he impulsively kicked him down the stairs.
The crowd of nobles gasped in horror especially when one of the generals checked the man’s vitals and found that he was dead. Words like tyrant and dictator floated around but no one dared to say it in Yeoh Jun’s face. Yeoh Jun glanced in Yi Zhen’s direction and Yi Zhen nodded his head accepting the order.
He pressed a video file with all the compilations of this man’s crimes and began to play it. What were this man’s crimes?
Conducting shady arms deals with the interstellar pirates and selling confidential technological plans for weaponry to the warlords of outlying planets.
The consequence thereof was the loss of lives from both civilians and military personnel. When a whistleblower tried to report him, she was abducted and given to the interstellar pirates to do as they pleased. It was Zi Xingxi who saved her during one of their operations and in front of the camera the woman who looked emancipated broke down while telling her story.
The words tyrant and overlord came to a halt as their anger turned to the corpse lying on the ground at the end of the stairs.
Later on, footage showed a conversation between him and his wife. She was the one who suggested such a cruel punishment sending this poor young woman to hell for merely trying to do the right thing.
This information tipped the scale significantly. Most high class figures knew that such immoral practices were taking place but feared that if they point a finger in that direction their own dirty little secrets would be exposed. It simply wasn’t worth it. They also feared the so-called loyal supporters of the prime ministers that rallied behind them not out of devotion or loyalty but the fat paychecks.
“Anyone else wants to speak out? We will happily showcase your deeds in front of the world to see,” said Yeoh Jun with a sinister smile.
The prime ministers who had been speaking loudly just now were as quiet as chickens not even daring to raise their heads.
“Better yet, we think it is good to let the world watch what you did. Let them see every crime you committed,” he continued to say and Yi Zhen pulled up all confidential files containing video and audio evidence before sending it out to the world including the ones for the deceased Yeoh Ju and his mother.
Their cries for mercy went unheard but there was one person who remained silent and unmoving and that person was prime minister Ikeda. Back then Yeoh Jun had helped him fend off his bullies and he knew how cruel he could be. As amazing as the feeling of being protected by him was that’s how terrifying it was when one was at the receiving end of his anger. If he had known this would come he would have never laid his eyes on Zi Han.
“These are the people you elected. The people you supported dearly. Have we not provided for all your needs? Have we not been benevolent over the years? We brought your ancestors out of the shadows of death and gave you a chance to thrive but how do you thank us? How did you treat our son?” he spoke his mental power tapping into that of his predecessors. His eyes had become a fiery red his emotions entwined with that of his fathers before him.
“We brought you prosperity and peace but you chose to betray us. Are you any different from those of the Republic?”
“Since there is no difference between the Republic and those who support these vile men we shall send them there with them because the Federation can not accommodate such evil and insatiable beings.”
The more he spoke the more the hearts of the people sank. If one were to ask them now, they still wouldn’t be able to explain what possessed them to do what they did. Wasn’t life under the imperial family good?
There was no such thing as poverty and crime was at its lowest. The care and love could be felt from afar but their minds were poisoned by a malicious person and they turned against their emperor. Was there a way to receive redemption?
