Chapter 558 - 558 Bribes

558 Bribes

Yi Chen wasn’t upset that he was in the dog house with the others, he was upset that he was in the dog house yet he didn’t even try this so-called love potion.

And these three, no four people left him out. Even his father didn’t even let him on on the good stuff.

He just glanced at the three men sitting on the beach chairs looking at the sea in a daze with their stomachs growling from hunger.

Yeoh Jun rubbed his tummy after it growl for the nth time and had to ask, “Can’t we send one of your kids to get us food?”

Who else among them had young kids except for Yi Zhen? Yi Zhen glanced at him and said, “You know they listen to their mother. Even if I call them now if she says no then it’s a no.”

Yeoh Jun turned to Yi Chen and asked, “How about you? Will they listen to you?”

Yi Chen scratched his head and said, “If I bribe them, yes.”

“Then son-in-law. We are all relying on you,” he said after patting his shoulder. Yi Chen who was eager to get along with his father-in-law swiped his light brain and typed in a message.

Yi Youxi who was frowning while cutting tomatoes for his mother checked his messages and he subconsciously looked outside the window.

.....

Chen-ge: Please bring over four muffins. I will give you the figurine you wanted.

Yi Youxi was tempted, very tempted but Hydra’s figurine wasn’t enough to entice him. He wanted more. As a newly born weeb, he decided to get his brother to buy him a body pillow for his favourite female character. He bit his lips while glancing at his mother before he hurriedly typed.

YiYi: I want it and this.

Two minutes later his brother responded.

Chen-ge: If you tell mum that I got you that I will skin you alive.

Chen-ge: You have ten minutes and don’t get found out.

Yi Youxi wanted to respond that ten minutes wasn’t enough but his mother suddenly said,

“Youxi, why are you in a daze? Where are my tomatoes?” she asked and Ming Ming who was folding cute dumplings with Zi Han and grandma Lin tattled, “He is on his light brain.”

Yi Youxi, “...”

His lips contorted as his eyes threatened her. Ming Ming stuck her tongue out at him and the two of each other communicated with their eyes for a while having a sibling fight in silence.

With a mother like Lin Ruoxi, they knew the consequences of fighting out loud. She would punish them both by switching off their StarNet access which was torture for the both of them so they had to fight silently.

Zi Han saw the faces they were making at each other and couldn’t help but stifle a laugh.

“Done,” he said and gave her the tomatoes.

Lin Ruoxi looked at the tomatoes that were meant to be diced with a look of astonishment. These tomatoes looked like they had been through a warzone. One piece was huge and the others were too small.

“You know if you didn’t want to do it you could have just said that,” she said only for Yi Youxi to say,

“But I tried my best. If I tried my best then I shouldn’t feel bad.”

“Who told you that?” she asked while turning to the stove.

“Dad said it,” he said throwing his father right under the bus, “so can I go now?”

Lin Ruoxi didn’t want to bother him anymore so she sent him off. “Go go. You aren’t useful anyway,” she said and her mother disagreed.

“Don’t worry about it Youxi. You are very helpful. You did a great job,” she said and Lin Ruoxi’s eyes widened.

Zi Xingxi chuckled while checking the tomatoes in the bowl. “Wow, it’s like you did it blindfolded,” she said and Yi Youxi pouted before looking at his grandma.

“Nana, can I have a muffin? I am so hungry,” he said with a cute smile that could have mothers handing over their wallets.

“Sure, go get one in the pantry,” she said while pinching his cheek.

“Mum, he won’t eat breakfast if he eats that,” said Lin Ruoxi while stirring the eggs in the wok.

“Well, you should have woken up earlier. My little grandson is very hungry now,” said grandma Lin before looking at Zi Han and asking, “Han Han, would you like one?”

“No thanks nana, I am not hungry yet,” replied Zi Han while Lin Ruoxi complained,

“And whose fault was it? Argh, I blame you, mum. You and your miracle drug. No no nope I blame your son. He screwed me over.”

Grandma Lin smiled before mumbling under her breath. “Maybe I will have another grandchild soon. Ming-er will make a good big sister,” she said while folding the dumpling.

“Mum!” said Lin Ruoxi while Zi Xingxi laughed.

Ming Ming shook her head frantically. “I don’t like babies. They cry and poop all the time and that is so annoying,” she said and grandma Lin laughed softly while saying,

“Aren’t you going to have one of your own in the future? Would you give her to your mother to raise?”

Ming Ming shook her head with her hair bouncing from side to side. “Nope... I am going to be a nun,” she said and grandma Lin smiled while saying,

“And you will make a great nun.”

Yi Youxi came out of the pantry with a bag full of muffins in his t-shirt. He passed by his mother in a flash and was about to get out of the door when Lin Ruoxi noticed that his chest was fatter than before.

“Wait wait wait. Youxi what do you have in there,” she asked and Yi Youxi turned to run while yelling,

“Nothing.” He bolted out of the door but unfortunately, he was caught before he could go far. His mother looked small and easy to bully but dang, when she wanted to catch someone she was pretty fast.

She pulled out the bag inside his t-shirt and asked, “Are you bringing food to your father?”

Yi Youxi didn’t dare lie. He nodded his head and Lin Ruoxi placed the muffins on the countertop before saying,

“Let them wait... Since you are so nice peel the potatoes for me,” she said and Yi Youxi couldn’t help but say, “I wasn’t willing to help. I didn’t do it for free.”

Lin Ruoxi, “...”
