Chapter 598 - 598 A bride with mood swings

598 A bride with mood swings

Grandpa Zi was so excited today that he woke up early his body restless. He couldn’t wait to brag about his lovely grandson and his new husband to his friends thus he jumped out of bed early in a great mood. When he reached the kitchen he found that his daughter was trying to make something in the kitchen.

She was an excellent cook but today she seemed to be in a mess. Everything seemed chaotic and she almost burnt herself. Worried for her Zi Feiji walked over and took the spatula from her hand.

“I know you are stressed but if you get hurt then what’s the point?” asked Zi Feiji and Zi Xingxi stood aside with her fingers rubbing her temple.

“I am not stressed. You were there last night and didn’t stop him from drinking. Now he has a bloody hangover and he looks horrible. This is all your fault,” she said feeling quite upset. She not only blamed him but also blamed her husband for this. They were meant to be taking care of him but they let him run wild like a horse.

Zi Feiji was a little surprised that this pot was falling on his head. “You know how your son is. He was so unrestrained that he drank like a fish. Not only that but he sang... a lot. I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t have a voice,” he said and Zi Xingxi suddenly recalled that Zi Han’s voice was slightly raspy.

“Did you give him the hangover pill?” he asked and Zi Xingxi leaned against the kitchen counter while saying,

“No, he has to eat first... I hope Yi Chen isn’t as bad as him.”

Well, he was bad too but he was very active and energetic that his mother couldn’t even keep him still to manicure his nails.

“Oh right. Let me make the hangover soup. Go back to him and make sure he stays awake,” he said a little worried that he might fall asleep and they won’t be able to wake him up.

.....

Zi Xingxi thanked her dad and kissed his cheek before walking away. When she was about to leave he said, “Don’t worry too much. He is going to be okay, okay?”

Zi Xingxi’s steps paused and she turned her head to look at him. She suddenly felt better. She pursed her lips as she nodded her head seeming grateful that her father was there.

When she arrived in Zi Han’s room her son was sitting with his head almost drooping. He wanted to go back to sleep.

She walked over and helped support his head before saying, “Don’t sleep now sweetie, grandpa is making you some hangover soup.”

Zi Han opened his eyes slightly before asking, “Do I really need these? I don’t want my hair to be too curled. And how do you sleep in these? I don’t get it,” his voice laced with a hint of grievance.

“It won’t be a tight curl. She will comb it out and it’s only for a couple of hours,” she said but Zi Han wasn’t convinced. He couldn’t help but say, “I am going to look like a chia pet. I don’t want to look like a chia pet.”

Zi Xingxi, “...”

She narrowed her eyes while scrutinizing him. She had a sneaky suspicion that he was about to have a meltdown, a massive meltdown. He was just like a toddler. When they miss their nap they cry... a lot and looking at Zi Han right now he was slowly inching towards that.

“Um... okay, I can take them out if they make you uncomfortable,” she said trying to prevent a meltdown.

She reached over but Zi Han’s mood swings were blindsiding her. He moved his head away and said, “No, I will look ugly.”

Zi Xingxi, “...”

“I won’t look good if you take them out,” he said and Zi Xingxi was beginning to wonder if her son had been replaced or something.

“Okay okay... we will leave them in... god, where is your grandfather?” she said worried that this little tantrum will escalate. Her worst fear did happen because now he was panicking about what he ate last night which escalated to all his eating habits for the past years since he had those bridal clothes made.

“I am worried it won’t fit. I ate a lot of donuts last night and lots and lots of wings. And I haven’t been watching my weight. I have been eating for a lot of years. What should we do if it doesn’t fit?” he said and Zi Xingxi had her lips pursed the entire time just looking at him like she didn’t know what to do.

“But you tried it on less than two days ago. It’s fine,” she said wondering if she was like this when she was grieving over her husband when she was drunk. Most of the time Zi Han was present and he would just pat her back and listen to her cursing her dead husband for leaving her behind.

“I did but it was a little tight around my waist. Don’t you remember?” he said and Zi Xingxi was starting to think he was having cold feet. If not that then he was just sleep deprived and hungover.

“You were just bloated,” she said and Zi Han pulled up his t-shirt before mumbling, “Oh.” He pinched and slapped his belly to see if he was still bloated.

“Okay, okay that’s enough. Let me tie a scarf on your head so you can go to bed after you have the hangover soup,” she said before opening the emergency bag for the wedding.

Zi Han’s eyes widened his sleepiness vaporised in an instant.

“No, nope. I am not going to wear that,” he said and Zi Xingxi suddenly found a form of distraction.

“Come on, it’s not that bad. You have already worn a dress before and it looked good. Let me tie it on your head and your hair will stay prim and proper,” she said but could somebody tell Zi Han why she had a smile on her face while she was saying that?
