Chapter 233: A Man of Few Words
“Miss Cheng.”
The man across from him stared at Cheng Wei’s long neck, chuckling when his gaze lowered to her subtle cleavage. “I have just the thing for you.”
“Yao Tang has exited the school premises a total of three times this week. Every time, she is with the same man. It appears that the man is quite rich himself, and they spend a lot of time together from shopping to buying milk tea. Just last Friday they were spotted at a tailor shop together.”
“From what I can see, the two of them behave quite intimately. However, it didn’t look like they were boyfriend and girlfriend. These are the pictures I’ve taken.”
The man reached out from his greasy envelope and pulled out a stack of photos from the inside.
In the photos, Cheng Wei could see Yao Tangand Cheng Yanstrolling down the sidewalk.
They appeared to be the perfect couple, both as handsome and beautiful as the other. While they weren’t showing much PDA, the tiny actions they displayed were very intimate. For example, there was a photo of Cheng Yan casually giving Yao Tanga scarf and a bottle of milk tea.
There was also another photo of Yao Tang leaning against his shoulder.
From an outsider’s perspective, it was obvious that their relationship was not ordinary.
“Hm.”
Cheng Wei’s eyes glittered.
It seemed that she was going to get someone else into her team, someone who would hate Yao Tang as much as she did. Her lips inched up into a smirk as she grabbed her phone.
Click click click!
She anonymously emailed pictures to someone she had known for quite a long time.
If her estimates were correct, then Yao Tang was going to be in very big trouble.
The man opposite her casually reached out to the young woman as if he wanted to take the photos, but instead, his hand grazed across Cheng Wei’s soft palm. His lips twitched, as he resisted the urge to swoon.
“Hey!” Cheng Wei screamed, pulling her hand from his hold in an instant.
The surrounding people glanced in her direction. Some couldn’t help but sneer at the sight. Cheng Wei glanced at the ground guiltily and left after saying a couple of words.
“I’ll be transferring the money to your account later. I’ll be leaving first.”
A smile appeared on the man’s face as she left. Soon after she was gone, he slowly sniffed his finger, closing his eyes in bliss.
This was Miss Cheng’s smell?
..
When Yu Shu got the email, she had been eating dinner.
The melodious sound of the piano echoed across the room as she hummed, slicing herself a piece of foie gras. She picked up the wine beside her and drank, a smile appearing on her lips.
Ding!
Upon seeing the notification, she picked up her phone and glanced at the email. “Must be a spam message,” she murmured, about to delete it when she saw a familiar face.
Was that Cheng Yan?
Her fork clattered onto the table, and she immediately wiped her hands with a napkin. Hurriedly picking up her phone, she peered in a bit more to take a closer look.
It really was Cheng Yan! There was also another girl standing right next to him. This girl...
“Who is this?”
She scrolled down to the next picture. Each of them also had the same girl. There was something about the way that mystery girl looked that made her appear unforgettable, like a muse that had descended from the heavens.
And from the way they appeared together, they looked like a real couple! Maybe they were a couple?
No!
Yu Shu slammed her hands onto the table.
What about her?
Yu Shu stood where she was, panting heavily. She stared hatefully at the pictures of the two of them on her phone, clenching her fists.
“I just can’t stand the sight of them alone. I have to take the initiative.”
With a scowl, she took out her phone and gazed at Cheng Yan’s picture. Gritting her teeth, she immediately dialed a number.
Beep Beep Beep
“Hello?” Cheng Yan answered.
“Brother Cheng Yan, when are you coming back to Beijing?”
“I’m not sure.”
The man had always been a man of few words.
Now, he was simply a man of few words, which made Yu Shu feel even more uncomfortable. If he were in front of Yao Tang, would he be like this?
“Then can I come over to see you?”
Cheng Yan was silent. On the other end of the phone, he still didn’t say anything when the secretary’s voice came through, “CEO Cheng, if you can sign here.”
“Brother Cheng Yan,” she quickly said. “I actually have something else to do it there. I’ll drop by to see you, and I’ll settle it then. I’m hanging up now.”
Yu Shu didn’t even wait for his reply when she hung up the phone.
