Cheng Yan’s injuries appeared to be quite serious. If Yao Tang hadn’t attended to it immediately, who knew what else would’ve happened to him?
“There’s no need.”
“All right.”
After all, they were a couple of minutes away from the hospital. Once they’ve reached there, the doctor could easily bandage him up and address any concerns that he may have.
The woman turned around and gazed out the window. However, when she glanced back at the shadowy man, she couldn’t help but realize that he wasn’t bleeding any more.
Disbelief flickered in her eyes.
However, as she leaned in closer, she could see that her eyes weren’t lying to her. He had really stopped bleeding!
“It will take some time for your injuries to heal completely,” Yao Tang stated as she stared at his back.
Suddenly, a thought occurred to her, and she added, “Don’t worry. It wouldn’t leave any scars. You’d be fine.”
Cheng Yan’s eye twitched.
When did this cold woman grow a heart?
“I don’t care about these things,” he responded, taking a deep breath.
She eagerly nodded, waving her hands up in the air dismissively. “Right,” she replied. “I know you don’t care about these things.”
What was going on with her? Why did he feel like he was just a kid being coaxed by the doctor? However, before he could say anything more, the car went to a stop.
“We’re finally at the hospital.” The female bodyguard glanced at the rearview mirror, nodding in confirmation.
Only then did they appear stunned. They stared at the female bodyguard with furrowed eyebrows. Why would she bring them here to the hospital?
However, the bodyguard didn’t really mean any harm by her actions. She had just assumed that seeing as the man was injured, they would appreciate him getting checked out by a doctor.
The female bodyguard didn’t notice their looks of confusion as she made her way to open the door. Only when she saw Yao Tang’s puzzled face did she freeze.
“Miss, is there a problem?”
Had she done something wrong?
“Why are we here at the hospital?”
The bodyguard blinked in surprise.
Should he not be checked by a senior doctor? While Yao Tang may have already treated his wounds, he still needed to be observed by a professional.
It was why she didn’t bother asking her boss where they would go, and instead directly brought them here.
But it seemed that they already had other things in mind.
“I thought we’ll be treating Sir’s injuries,” she stuttered.
Yao Tang thought for a moment before glancing at the man beside her. “Do you think we should go and get your wound checked out?”
“Haven’t you already treated it? I don’t think we have to go.” Cheng Yan leaned on his seat with his other good shoulder, lazily blinking at her.
He originally wanted to sit straight and lean on his back, but she was quick to stop him.
Even then, he still appeared intimidating despite being crouched over like that.
“Alright.” Yao Tang nodded. “Then we won’t go. You better take care of your wounds so that they don’t get infected.”
Just the way they speak was enough to make the bodyguard’s head ache.
If it were them, they would’ve immediately rushed to the hospital to get things checked out. In fact, they may even lie there for the next few days to ensure that everything was okay. He didn’t expect the two of them to treat these injuries as if they were nothing!
Sure, she half-expected the man to act all strong and bold, but what she didn’t expect was for the young lady to follow suit.
Shouldn’t she have appeared to be more worried? Shouldn’t she cry for lost hope as she rushed her man to the hospital for a check-up?
Why did she look so calm?
“Let’s go back.”
Yao Tang’s voice interrupted her train of thought.
The two bodyguards glanced over at her calm features and couldn’t help but sympathize with Cheng Yan. It seemed that whatever feelings this man had for her were left unrequited.
“Can I sit now?” he finally asked after a moment of silence.
Yao Tang used this opportunity to observe the wound on his back. She then slowly nodded. “Yes, you’ll be fine.”
Cheng Yan’s shirt had a large hole on it, leaving his scarred skin exposed for everyone to see.
However, she couldn’t help but glance at the long scar on his back
He seemed to have gotten it from a long time ago, given its faded color. Even then, the way it flashed under the artificial light made it appear terrifying.
Where did he get this scar?
