Brittany looked at Isaac in disbelief, thinking he was way out of line, “Do you really think someone who’s already kicked the bucket could still be alive? Kyle died years ago. How could he possibly still be in this world?”
Seeing Brittany’s shocked expression, Isaac suddenly felt a lift in his mood. He got up, pulled out his phone, and dialed Nathan’s number, “Bring Daniel Salter over.”
“Alright.”
Brittany was certain that Kyle was long gone. She leaned against the headboard and closed her eyes to rest.

After Daniel returned, he and Isaac had a falling out.
Unfortunately, Isaac was so wrapped up in Brittany that he didn’t notice Daniel’s displeasure.
Emily immediately went upstairs when she heard the news, “Daniel, Mr. Salter wants you to go to the hospital. Are you willing?”
Daniel, in his dinosaur pajamas, opened the door as soon as he heard about that, “Is Daddy in the hospital?”
Emily couldn’t help but laugh, “No, Mr. Salter said someone wants to meet you.”
Daniel’s face fell instantly, “I’m not going.”
“Don’t you want to see your mom?” Emily baited him and Daniel’s eyes lit up. “Mom?”
“Yep, as long as you behave, you can see her.”
Daniel’s eyes widened as he reached out to Emily, “Granny Emily, help me pick out clothes. We’re going to the hospital.”
Emily laughed and picked up Daniel, helping him change into a little suit. Then they followed Nathan and got in the car.
Daniel was holding a whole box of cupcakes. Nathan teased him, “Daniel, can I have one?”
“No,” Daniel said, “These are for my mom. If you want one, I can have Granny Emily make some for you next time.”
He hadn’t seen Brittany in several days and was really looking forward to seeing her now. These cupcakes were specially made by Granny Emily.
Nathan pretended to be disappointed, “Alright then. It seems you love your mother more, right, Daniel?”
Daniel also liked Nathan. With daddy not around, Granny Emily and Nathan were the ones who spent the most time with him. He frowned, pulling out a piece of candy from his pocket and giving it to Nathan, “Nathan, this is your candy.”
Even though he couldn’t give Nathan a cupcake, he could give him a piece of candy.
Nathan was very fond of Daniel and appreciated his little gift.
When Daniel was brought to the hospital, he clung to the box of cupcakes. As soon as he entered the room, he saw Isaac sitting on the
sofa.
He was still angry and coldly called out, “Dad.”
“Daniel?”
A female voice sounded, and Daniel’s eyes lit up instantly.
“Mom!”
Daniel walked to the bed with his cupcakes, quickly climbed up, and hugged Brittany. “Mom, I missed you so much. I’m so glad you
came to see me.”
“Mom, why are you in the hospital? Are you not feeling well?”
-Daniel, still hugging Brittany’s neck, presented the cupcakes to her. “I had Granny Emily make these cupcakes specially for you. I didn’t
dare to eat any on the way here. You should eat some, Mommy.”
Brittany was stunned.
How could Daniel possibly be with Isaac?
Seeing her surprised face, Isaac stood up and said, “He’s Kyle. If you don’t believe it, we can do a DNA test.”
Brittany looked at Daniel in her arms and then at Isaac, feeling like he was hiding something from her.
“Mom.”
Daniel didn’t get a response. His eyes were welling up with tears. He stared at Brittany and asked, “Mom, what’s wrong? Don’t you like me anymore?”
