Chapter 608

Brittany had a rough night; the only thing on her mind right now was getting Daniel to school.

With the nanny not around, she quickly made two sandwiches and warmed up two cups of milk, then woke Daniel up for breakfast.

As she walked into the dining room with breakfast, she found that Daniel was already up.

He was dressed in a small black suit, looking very posh and handsome, like a little prince straight out of a comic book. His cuteness was impossible to ignore.

Daniel sniffed the aroma of the food and got up. “Mom, this smells amazing.”

Brittany looked at his innocent face and smiled slightly. “Well, then, dig in. I’ll take you to school later.”

“I want to drink milk.”

Brittany noticed that there were only sandwiches on the table; the milk was still in the kitchen.

“Eat first; I’ll get the milk.”

As Brittany went into the kitchen, the doorbell rang. Daniel hopped off his chair, thinking it was Isaac, and excitedly opened the door. “Dad, is it you… Ah!”

Suddenly, there was a loud noise.

“Mom!”

A shriek echoed. Brittany rushed out of the kitchen and found Daniel on the ground. His little hand was stained with blood while covering the back of his head. He seemed to have hit his head on the shoe

cabinet.

Olivia was standing outside the door, her face filled with arrogance and resentment. “Brittany, William is in the hospital because of you, and you’re here with your child?”

Olivia’s previous fondness for Brittany had turned into disgust.

Hospital?

Before Brittany could think about William’s condition, she instinctively picked up Daniel. “Daniel, does it hurt?”

Daniel let go of his hand, and he saw the blood in his palm. He had a resilient look on his face; he was obviously in pain since his eyes were turning red, yet he was still trying to comfort Brittany.

“It’s fine, Mom. It doesn’t hurt.”

Brittany’s eyes welled up with tears, and she picked him up. “I’ll take you to the hospital.”

Knowing Brittany was exhausted, Daniel didn’t want her to carry him, and he struggled to stand up. “Mom, I can walk on my own.”

Brittany grabbed her bag, ready to take Daniel to the hospital.

“Brittany, are you deaf? William is in the hospital because of you! Are you not even going to see him?” Olivia stared at Brittany; she was completely infuriated.

William had liked her for so many years, so how could she be so cold-hearted?

Brittany closed the door. and looked at Olivia. “I will visit William. But, Olivia, you shouldn’t have hurt my son.”

“Your son?”

Olivia was stunned, and her puzzled gaze shifted between the two of them. After a while, she laughed. “So it’s true; you and Isaac have made up, haven’t you? The Dillion family’s crisis is all because of you two! You deliberately plotted against the Dillion family.”

“Olivia, I’ve transferred all my shares to William. I didn’t take a penny.”

Brittany interrupted Olivia. “You’re in no place to judge what happened between me and William. And you definitely shouldn’t have hurt my son!”

Brittany quickly left with Daniel.

Olivia stood there, her mind in a mess, as she carefully recalled every word Brittany said.

She transferred all her shares to William?

Then wasn’t all the money she invested wasted?

Daniel was very sensible; he didn’t even complain about the pain during the whole journey. When they arrived at the hospital, the doctor saw the wound on the back of his head and was startled. “This little kid is brave. He has such a big wound, and he didn’t even cry.”

Brittany’s heart skipped a beat. She wanted to check the wound, but Daniel stopped her. “Mom, don’t look.”

“How sweet. This little guy is worried about his mom; he’s afraid that she’ll be worried.” The female doctor smiled. “Little guy, be a good

boy and bear with it for a while. It won’t hurt after the medicine is applied.”

Daniel’s face was pale; he was obviously in pain, but he didn’t dare cry out because Brittany was there.

Brittany felt a pang in her heart, squatted down, and kissed Daniel. “I’m sorry, it’s my fault. I will make those who hurt you pay for it.”

Daniel’s eyes were filled with tears; he was in pain, but as his father had taught him, he was a man and couldn’t worry his mother.

He held Brittany’s hand and whispered. “As long as you’re by my side, I won’t feel the pain.”

Brittany’s eyes were a bit sour. “Okay.”

After Daniel got his medicine, he was arranged to be hospitalized due to excessive blood loss. As soon as he lay down, the door was

pushed open.

“What happened?”
