Brittany came out of the bathroom, her body slightly damp.
Isaac had his back to her, on the phone.
The bedroom was well-lit with large floor-to-ceiling windows reflecting nearly half of Imperial City’s night view.
Brittany found a hairdryer. As soon as she turned it on, Isaac heard the noise and hung up the phone. He walked up to her, took the hairdryer, and helped her dry her hair.
“Who were you on the phone with?”
“Nathan.” Isaac didn’t hide anything, “His family, the Jarvis family found out about his marriage plans, but they disapproved.”
In other words, the Jarvis family wasn’t ready to let go of Nathan. After all, Nathan had achieved quite a lot over the years. How could Mila willingly let her son marry some unknown jewelry designer?
Brittany raised an eyebrow, “What does Nathan think?”
“He always has his own ideas. The Jarvis family can’t change anything.”
Brittany’s hair was thick and dense, it took half an hour to dry it. Isaac helped her apply hair oil, picked her up, and put her on the bed, “They will visit Imperial City soon, we can talk about it then.”

“I don’t care, we must get Grace to give in soon. Your dad will be out soon,
Marcel’s dad, Manuel Salter, was sentenced to twelve years back then; he was well-behaved over the years, and with Marcel’s behind-the-scenes maneuvering, he managed to get a sentence reduction.
At most, he’d be out in six months to a year.
Marcel rubbed his temples, “I know.”
After Leda had left, Zella came downstairs and approached Marcel, “Are you full? Would you like some more to eat?”
