Kari forced a smile and said, “Brittany, I’m fine; I’m just a little nervous.”

Kari accepted the bank card and said, “Mom, you should come and live with us.”
Nathan had suggested that Willa could live with them after the wedding.
Willa was frail; she had suffered a lot over the years, and her health was not what it used to be. Living together would make it easier to look after her.
Willa shook her head. “I won’t. You young people have your own lifestyle; I won’t intrude; I can take care of myself.”
Willa knew Nathan and her daughter meant well, but she preferred to live independently rather than be a burden to her daughter. “Then let me buy you an apartment.”
A two-bedroom apartment in the same complex would be perfect.
