Chapter 885

Hana had never pegged Brittany to be so petty.

With a frown, Brittany said, “Ms. Hana, I think there’s been á misunderstanding. This has nothing to do

with me.”

She wasn’t so idle as to go out of her way to pick on Hana.

But Hana, convinced Brittany was lying, retorted, “Ms. Dustin, you and Mr. Salter aren’t remarried yet,

so I still have a shot at competing for him. Why the rush to wipe me out? Are you afraid I’ll overtake

you, or are you just insecure?”

Hana lifted her chin defiantly. “I heard you had a miscarriage. You should really take care

complications.” of yourself, or you could suffer a Brittany’s eyes flashed with a cold glint at the mention

of “miscarriage.”

But Hana, blinded by her anger, disregarded any sense of tact. “How does someone just miscarry out

of the blue, unless maybe too much fun overseas led to a nasty case of recurrent miscarriages?”

No sooner had the words left her mouth than Brittany’s hand struck Hana’s face, her expression turning

icy. “Hana, watch your words!”

For Brittany, miscarriage was a raw wound, and Hana kept prodding it mercilessly.

Stunned by the slap, Hana, once she recovered, tried to retaliate.

“Brittany, how dare you slap me! It’s your own fault for not being able to keep the baby, and now you

won’t let me speak? Everyone knows you and William have been an item for years…”

Brittany grabbed her wrist in a tight grip, warning her, “Hana, don’t say things you’ll regret, or I’ll make

sure I do!”

While she and William had been together, their relationship was nothing out of the ordinary. She would

not allow anyone to defile it!

Frightened, Hannah was immobilized as Brittany let go of her wrist and called security, “Come up, and

remove this person.”

The security arrived swiftly, escorting Hana away.

Thrown out of the studio, Hana was met with the strange glances of passersby, but she didn’t care.

Clenching her teeth in anger, she rose to her feet.

Back at the daycare, Hana sought out the director, hoping to air her grievances. Instead, she was met

with a stack of documents.

We both know why you were transferred,” the director said, her aversion for those with ill intentions

evident, a fact Hannah had blatantly disregarded.

“You’repeatedly approached the student’s parents with ulterior motives, which are clearer to you than to

me.”

Hana’s face turned red. “I wasn’t trying to break them up…”

“Then what?” the director squinted. “The whole world knows Mr. Salter is engaged. Do you really think

you can worm your way into that family?”

The director looked at Hana with disdain. Did she watch too many romcoms? Did she really believe in

some fairy-tale romance?

Biting her lip, Hana asked, “Did Brittany complain about me?”

The director chuckled, “Don’t always assume Ms. Dustin is the one out to get you.”

“Then who was it?”

The director obviously wouldn’t reveal it was Wesley who had approached her privately.

“Just go, and don’t make any more trouble.”

Chastened, Hana had no choice but to leave.

Once she was gone, the director called Wesley “I did as you asked and handled the situation.”

“Thanks, director,” Wesley appreciated the director’s intervention, not just because he disliked Hana’s

behavior, but also for his daughter’s sake.

How could someone with questionable behavior be his daughter’s teacher?

“It’s nothing major,” the director said before hanging up and removing Hana from the lis of potential

promotions.

At Imperial City’s most prestigious daycare, the standards for selecting teachers were strict.

Hana had used her family’s influence to get in, but her ambition proved too great.

Such a person couldn’t stay.

The evidence against Leda conspiring with Joie was irrefutable, and the police swiftly moved to

prosecute.
