Chapter 162

Last week, when I visited my mom, she was fine. But now she’s having some serious reactions. Before she went unconscious, she told me to look for you at the cemetery, maybe after a few visits, I’d see you there.”

“She still remembers me… Adrian’s eyes welled up with tears and his fist clenched tight, “It must be Lealis doing, she’s playing mind games!” novelbin

Adrian was ticked off, “Ms. Zimmer, could you fill me in on your mom’s condition? Which loony bin is she in? I’ll find a way to get her out. Leah must be using this as a tactic to scare you into submission. Don’t worry, I’ve got your back.”

Allison got home, but she was a bundle of nerves.

Who would’ve thought that’s how her father and brother kicked the bucket.

And what about Christopher?

In her mind, Mr. Flanagan had always been weak but good–natured.

He knew the truth all along.

How could he keep calm and carry on?

Her father and brother had bit the dust for him.

Allison never thought the truth would be so harsh, no wonder she overheard the Flanagan’s servant talking behind closed doors.

She had always thought of Christopher as a good guy.

She never imagined that he was the reason she lost her father and brother.

Now, she needed to clear up one more thing with her mom, why their DNA didn’t match, and who was her real mom?

But her mom was out cold and under Leah’s control, and with all these questions buzzing in her head, Allison got up.

It was 9 PM.

The Flanagan’s living room was lit up.

The help was prepping breakfast in the kitchen. Allison went upstairs; she knew Christopher was still up in his study.

After a moment’s hesitation, Allison knocked on the door.

“Come in.”

Christopher looked up and smiled when he saw her, “It’s you, Allison; why aren’t you in bed?”

“Mr. Flanagan, you’re still up too?”

Allison walked in, but Christopher’s expression was hard to read.

Christopher chuckled, “Business keeps me busy, I only have one daughter, and she’s not interested in it. So, I want to hustle while I’m still young.”

He gestured for Allison to sit on the couch and asked her with concern, “Allison, Mrs. Flanagan mentioned you’re working at Red Jack Club, didn’t you ask me to get rid of your truancy records? Why did you drop out all of a sudden?”

Allison grinned; she was sure this was Leah and Penelope’s doing, and Christopher had no clue. But now, after learning about everything, she was having second thoughts.

But she kept her poker face, “School allowed me to take a gap year. It’s good that I’m working and saving up; it’ll ease Mom’s burden.”

When they touched on this topic, a thought crossed her mind. She blinked her eyes and asked him, “Mr. Flanagan, if I don’t graduate, could I still work at your company?”

Christopher laughed, “Of course. Even if you don’t finish your studies, you’re welcome to join us. It’ll secure your future. If you marry Dr. Dylan, you two could live a good life.”

Allison’s smile faded, “I’ve broken up with Dr. Dylan.”

“Why? Weren’t you two together just a few days ago?” Christopher frowned, “Allison, Dr. Dylan is a good man. I can tell that he cares about you.”

“He’s good now, but will be always be?” Allison looked at him with questions in her eyes..

Christopher sat across from Allison.
