As she spoke, she glanced at Allison, genuinely worried that Lucian might notice something amiss, particularly with Allison dressed in her snug little Chanel–esque outfit. Allison played dumb. “I’m okay”
Jason walked up to Allison, “Ms Flanagan, Allison is my classmate, so you don’t need to fret about her”
Penelope smiled, surprised that Jason would defend a maid in front of everyone.
Lucian walked in, his eyes landing on Allison, who was dressed in a light pink dress that accentuated her fair skin. With a light blush on her cheeks and standing behind Jason, he found her quite the eyesore.
Seeing Lucian looking at Allison, Penelope quickly approached him and took his arm, “Lucian, the baby just gave me a little kick”
Lucian replied gently, “Such a naughty baby.”

Zachary helped Carter down the stairs; Cora quickly went over to him, “Dad”
Carter nodded, his gaze sweeping across Allison’s face, pausing ever so slightly. Allison immediately felt a wave of pressure.
Jason said, “Grandpa, this is my classmate Allison.”
Carter’s gaze slowly moved away, “Let’s eat.”
Inside the dining room.
Allison sat next to Jason, feeling quite uneasy during the meal. But the more stressed one was Penelope. The guilt of hiding something inside was overwhelming. As long as Lucian’s gaze lingered on Allison, Penelope would fear being found out and constantly made excuses to divert his attention, which only made her look more guilty
Lucian’s sharp gaze fell on Penelope’s face.
“If you’re not feeling well, I can get the family doctor to check on you.”
Upon hearing that Penelope wasn’t feeling well, Miranda became anxious, “Penelope, what’s wrong?”
Everyone’s gaze turned towards them.
After all, Penelope was pregnant. It was no small matter.
Penelope knew she was being overly nervous. “I’m fine, just the normal reactions to pregnancy, I’ve lost my appetite.”
Miranda chuckled, “That’s normal. I’ve asked the servants to prepare some light food for you. Here, have some soup.”

Carter smiled. “Take care of yourself. If you need anything, just tell Lucian.”
The smile on Penelope’s face was radiant as she replied, “All right.” She looked at Lucian’s profile, finding it hard to even breathe. Lucian was simply too outstanding. Northfield had no shortage of ladies
pursuing him.
Kamilla scoffed quietly, murmuring. “Fake”
Allison lowered her head, quietly enjoying her bowl of rice.
Suddenly, someone put a piece of steak in front of her. Looking up, she saw Jason’s handsome smile, “Try Lacey’s cooking. Every time I visit Grandpa’s house, I always have extra steak. It’s completely different from restaurants.”
Lacey was heating up some porridge for Carter when she heard this. She immediately smiled and said, “I’m glad you like it. Allison, you should also try I can’t vouch for the other dishes, but this steak is my specialty.”
Allison took a bite, “It’s really good, Lacey Could you teach me sometime?”
“Allison, you like cooking too? Sure, I’ll teach you after dinner.”
