Chapter 222

Allison was taken aback, I’ll go back with you”

Aurora went pale, but she knew Allison’s family wasn’t exactly rolling in dough. Participating in this adventure was indeed for the 30–grand prize money. Even though they didn’t care about the cash, for Allison, it was another story. She thought Allison was worried about her.

She leaned onto James’s back and asked Allison, “Don’t you still want that ‘treasure? I’m fine. I just need to ice it a bit at the rest area”

Allison hesitated but eventually nodded.

30 grand, for her, was quite the temptation.

James said, “Lucian and I checked the map earlier. The treasure‘ should be nearby.”

After Kamilla, Aurora, and James left, Allison looked closely at the map, marked their current position, and pulled out her phone to check the compass.

Sounds came from the bushes behind her. Allison turned around, and saw Lucian walking in the opposite direction. She initially wanted to go the other way, but according to the map, the treasure‘ seemed close. She waited until Lucian’s figure almost disappeared before following him..

Lucian didn’t care about the 30 grand. After all, the prize money was his idea. But a man’s adventurous and conquering spirit was innate.

The treasure‘ location was dropped by a helicopter sent by Carl, the person in charge of the adventure, at a landmark in the safe zone on Pearl Island. Visitors have seven days to play, with the adventure being just a part of it. To ensure the health of these nobles, the safe zone had been cleared, with protective nets set up deeper in. A helicopter also hovered above to prevent accidents.

Although people guarantee safety, safety was not absolute.

In this unfamiliar place, with unfamiliar surroundings, and overgrown weeds, Allison was a bit scared and followed Lucian’s pace.

Lucian led the way and stopped after a few steps.

Allison was checking the time, her forehead suddenly bumped into Lucian’s back. She took a step back, rubbing her forehead.

His deep voice came from above, “Give me the map.”

Allison handed over the map.

He took a good look, “We’re here, the ‘treasure‘ is here, go north.”

Allison leaned in to look, “But there’s an artificial lake here.” Her delicate finger pointed, “We were just by the lake. To get there, we need to go around from

behind the lake”

This would take some time.

He put away the map and continued leading the way. He didn’t say a word, but his pace was steady and robust. Allison followed behind him, carefully taking each step. She saw his tall and slender figure, dressed in a grey tracksuit, giving off a sense of security. This gradually made Allison relax her vigilance towards the unfamiliar surroundings.

She felt that as long as she followed him, they would reach their destination.

The lakeside was overgrown with weeds, misty with water vapour, and various insects and small animals began to increase. Allison carefully watched every step. Suddenly, a black–green insect jumped onto her foot. She was startled and almost screamed.

She looked up, meeting Lucian’s teasing eyes.

He seemed to be enjoying her embarrassment. “I thought you were a fearless person.”

As a girl who dared to come here alone, she was unlike those rich girls.

If Kamilla encountered such an insect, she would be scared to fly up to the sky like Superman.
