Chapter 502

Allison said her goodbyes to Emma, who had to head back to the office to tackle the pile of work that awaited her.

In the afternoon, Allison and Daisy hit the main street for some shopping. Daisy was known for her generosity and had a penchant for buying whatever she fancied. Allison, despite having saved a good deal of money, didn’t share the same enthusiasm for luxury goods. She preferred clothes made of comfortable, durable cotton.

In a chic boutique, Daisy held up a mint green sundress and asked Allison, “What do you think of this one?”

Allison glanced at it. “It’s nice.’

Without missing a beat, Daisy told the sales assistant, “Get one in her size.”

“Oh, Daisy, you’ve already bought me several,” Allison protested, rubbing her forehead. “My closet is bursting.”

Ignoring her protest, Daisy nudged Allison towards the dressing room. “Just try it on. I guarantee it’ll look stunning on you. Lucian won’t be able to resist.”

In the dressing room, Allison realized the dress was laced with cutouts at the waist and back only after she changed into it. The green color highlighted her already fair complexion, making her skin look even more radiant under the dressing room lights.

Allison was slender, but her bust was full. She often had to go up a size when shopping for clothes, but that left the waistline loose. This dress, however, fit perfectly, accentuating her slender waist. The entire

waist and back were laced with cutouts. She thought she must have picked up the wrong dress until she recalled Daisy’s whisper in her ear that Lucian would utterly love it.

Flushing, she couldn’t help but feel embarrassed.

She walked out of the dressing room in the new dress, and Daisy asked, “So, do you like it?” Before Allison could reply, Daisy told the sales assistant, “We’ll take it.”

Shaking her head and chuckling, Allison didn’t protest further.

After paying, Daisy suggested they head for a nearby coffee shop. As they chatted over their lattes, Daisy pulled out a black velvet box from her bag and handed it to Allison. “Open it. Do you like it?”

Inside was a top-quality, freshly cut sapphire the size of a pigeon’s egg. It looked extremely valuable. “Is Santos Jewels working on a new collection?” Allison asked.

“No, this is a thank-you gift from Lucian, for helping you pass along his phone call.”

Suddenly, Allison remembered the time she and Daisy had been at Brady’s restaurant, and she had asked Daisy to answer Lucian’s call, claiming she was in the restroom.

As a result, Lucian had given her a “punishment” in the car, which had left her with a stiff neck and aching back.

“I have an idea,” Daisy said. “I’ll design a pair of rings tonight, one for each of us. I have to admit, Mr. Lindberg is quite generous. Only a jewelry store under the Lindberg Corporation could offer such a high-quality sapphire piece. It’s incredibly rare, especially since the price of sapphires has tripled.”

Over the years, Daisy had come to appreciate Allison’s stubbornness and pride. They had known each other for nearly 10 years now singe middle school. Initially, they didn’t get along well. Daisy thought

Allison was too arrogant and stubborn. But everything changed when Daisy was signed up for a 10- kilometer run by a classmate who disliked her.

On the day of the sports event, Daisy was having her period and was in so much pain she could barely walk. She broke down in tears. That was when Allison stepped in and ran the race

for her.
