He glanced at the microphone’s label, recognizing the insignia of Harbor Entertainment.

“Harbor Entertainment, is it? You won’t live to see another dawn.” he declared with finality and whipped out his phone to call David. “You have two hours to bankrupt Harbor Entertainment.”

The young journalist who had questioned him was visibly shaken. His face drained of color as he stammered out an apology. “Mr. Sinclair, I’m sorry! I misspoke! Please, I won’t do it again. Please spare me another chance.”

“Move!” Lysander’s patience was at its breaking point.

The young journalist recoiled at his commanding tone, nearly tripping over his own feet as he stumbled backwards. The other journalists, who had been eagerly waiting for a chance to question Lysander, were also struck by his palpable fury. They all retreated along with the young man.

A path quickly cleared for him.

Lysander didn’t give them a glance as he rose and strode through the opening. He slid into his black Rolls-Royce, and his foot slammed on the accelerator. The vehicle shot backwards towards the cluster of journalists.

The reporters huddled together in a panic, stepping back in a clumsy, terrified shuffle.

There were too many of them, and they couldn’t move fast enough. As the car threatened to collide with the front line, the reporters gasped with wide eyes and scrambled to get out of the way. Those in the back tripped over their own feet, causing those in the front to fall as well.

It was like dominoes – one after the other they tumbled down.

Lysander slammed the brakes. His icy gaze flicking to the rear-view mirror. Seeing the reporters’ comical state of disarray, the tension in his chiseled face eased ever so slightly. He spun the wheel and sped out of the underground parking lot.

The journalists were left sprawled on the ground, none spared from the embarrassment.

The black Rolls-Royce tore down the asphalt. Neon city lights streaked across its polished surface vibrantly but unable to thaw the frost in Lysander’s eyes.

Other drivers, seeing the reckless speed of the Rolls-Royce, quickly gave way, fearing to provoke his wrath.

Lysander’s hands were firm on the wheel. His veins stood out on the backs of his hands, and his eyes fixed ahead.

The chill around him was so intense that it seemed capable of freezing the very air.

Under normal circumstances, it would take twenty minutes to reach Royal Estates. But Lysander made it in eight.

He parked in the driveway and stepped out. His aura of icy command accompanied him as he walked towards the foyer.

Fitch had just come out of the kitchen. Upon seeing Lysander radiating such hostility, he tensed up and approached cautiously. “Sir, you’re back.”

“Where’s Thalassa?” Lysander’s voice was sharp, barely concealing his roughness.

Fitch, chilled by Lysander’s frosty gaze, reported with a back drenched in sweat, “Lysander, didn’t you agree to let her take the kids to stay with her mother for the night?”

Lysander’s eyes darkened at the mention.

He agreed to let Thalassa take the kids to Evelyn’s?

Seeing Lysander’s aura grow colder, Fitch became even more frightened. He explained hurriedly, “Ms. Everhart came back to Royal Estates earlier and bathed the four children. Then her mother arrived. She was not comfortable staying here and wanted to go back, and the kids wanted to visit their grandma’s house. Ms. Everhart went with them. Ms. Everhart said she called you and you agreed.”

Lysander’s expression shifted. His breathing grew heavy with anger.

Without another word, he left the foyer, jumped back into the Rolls-Royce, and drove off.
