Chapter 1127

Thalassa’s eyes widened a fraction, her mind jolted awake. Lysander had just provided an answer to

the question that had been perplexing her and sparing her the mental gymnastics of coming up with an

excuse.

“I regret it, I really do!” Thalassa said hastily.

As Lysander looked up, his deep-set eyes fixed on her, “What kind of regret?”

Locked in the gaze of his oceanic and glossy eyes, Thalassa knew she had to appease him or he

wouldn’t let her off the hook.

Her breath hitched, and she lifted her head to plant a soft kiss on his lips, lingering for just a moment

before she attempted to lie back down.

As she started to pull away, his large hand cradled the back of her head and he deepened the kiss.

Her chest pressed against his, leaving no space between them. She could feel the heat emanating

from his solid chest and the powerful beat of his heart, which seemed to drive her own pulse into a

frantic race.

Thalassa’s breathing grew heavy as she responded to his kiss, and the gesture itself seemed to

pleasure him. Lysander’s eyes gleamed with knowing satisfaction as his kiss was becoming more

languid and intense.

At the height of their kiss, Thalassa suddenly felt an unusual tension in his body.

A wave of alarm rushed through her mind. His dangerous aura was intensifying, and he seemed ready

to exact swift justice.

But she was still pregnant.

Just as Thalassa was about to resist, Lysander released her. His thumb gently wiped the saliva from

her lips. His eyes darkened, his voice husky and low, “I’ll let you off this time. In the future, you’re

forbidden from any contact with other men, got it?”

His lingering annoyance still revolved around Callum’s issue.

She had already explained to him that she had bumped into Callum by accident and never expected to

encounter him here.

“I really just tripped and instinctively reached out to steady him. I wasn’t rushing to meet him,” Thalassa

reiterated, insisting she hadn’t lied.

“Just because you see it that way doesn’t mean he does,” Lysander stated, his words icy and

authoritative.

The way Callum had looked at her was anything but simple. Besides, Callum was no stranger to self-

defense; he had skills. Nevertheless, he had let a bodyguard strike himself without retaliation or even

an attempt to dodge at the Weston Country.

Why?

He was trying to elicit Thalassa’s sympathy by making her witness his beating.

Knowing Lysander’s irrationally domineering nature, Thalassa realized he wouldn’t let the matter slide

unless she complied.

She said, “Fine, if you ever catch me with another man, feel free to chop off my hands, okay?”

Lysander pulled out a wet wipe, took hold of her hand, and meticulously cleaned her palms and fingers,

not missing a single spot.

This was the hand that had supported Callum.

“If it happens again, I need to chop the man’s hands instead of yours,” Lysander said firmly.

Hearing his words and catching the sternness in his eyes made Thalassa’s heart contract with fear.

She’d rather maim her than let anyone else suffer consequences on her behalf.

“Please get up; I want to sit. Lying down like this is uncomfortable,” Thalassa deflected, shifting the

subject as she addressed him.
