Chapter 1129

He treated Thalassa with such domineering affection. They were really close to each other, and

Lysander even sought her love.

Where did she fall short compared to Thalassa?

Once, a virgin like her could take it slow. Now that she was no longer one, her prospects for winning

Lysander’s favor had diminished. She had to hasten her steps; only by securing Lysander could she

find peace.

She suddenly remembered Callum.

Thalassa seemed to favor him and unabashedly engaged with him in full view of everyone. And Callum

had mentioned he could help her.

Susan’s gaze calculated as she looked toward the clubhouse entrance.

“Susan, have you been swamped with work lately? Why are you never home at night?” Lucy asked

with concern.

“Yeah, swamped,” Susan replied curtly, her eyes still venomous as she stared out the car window. “I

need to make money. How else am I going to give you two hundred thousand to play the stock

market?”

She didn’t tell her parents about the hardships she endured outside. There was no point in doing so;

they would only blame her. And telling them about her own grievance and bad shapes only offered

them ammunition to criticize her.

She had to secure the title of Mrs. Sinclair on her own.

Back at home, Susan pulled Bruce aside into the study, away from Lucy’s ears, “Dad, send me the

video you have that’s blackmailing Thalassa.”

“What are you planning? Getting back at Thalassa for earlier?” Bruce asked warily.

Susan’s face twisted with loathing, “Thalassa’s gone too far. She has been provoking me time and

again so I’ll teach her a lesson she won’t forget.”

She recalled how Thalassa had defied her threats by pinning her down and slapping her fiercely the

day before. That debt of humiliation had to be settled.

Bruce tried to calm her, “Don’t be rash. You need a plan.”

“How could I plan when she’s stepped on me?” Susan snapped, her anger flaring at the thought of her

recent indignities.

“Susan, I know you’re looking to get even with Thalassa, but I’ll be straight with you – the videos from

my phone and computer are all gone,” Bruce confessed.

“What? How could you lose something so important?” Susan felt as if she’d been struck.

She had thought she could get back at Thalassa anytime, but now the videos were gone!

“I don’t know. Maybe your mom found out and deleted them,” Bruce always had such doubt. But since

Lucy didn’t press him, he couldn’t just confront her about it.

“My mom is more trouble than she’s worth!” Susan huffed.

“Maybe it’s saved somewhere else. I’ll ask your mom again,” Bruce suggested.

At Royal Estates.

Thalassa walked in to find her four adorable little ones sitting at the dining table. With spoons in hand,

they were tucking into their kids’ meals with gusto. Elowen, in particular, with her chubby cheeks

smeared with soup, looked irresistibly cute.

“Mommy, come eat. Today’s food is so yummy,” Elowen exclaimed, her bright eyes sparkling as she

waved her spoon enthusiastically.

Thalassa smiled softly and sat down beside Elowen, “Let me taste how good it is.”

Elowen scooped up some soup and moved it toward Thalassa’s mouth, making an “Ahh…” sound.

Thalassa opened her mouth, accepting the spoonful of soup

After swallowing, she praised, “Mmm, delicious.”

Elowen’s eyes shone with pride, and she scooped up another spoonful, offering it to Lysander. “Daddy,

you eat too. It’s really good.”

Thalassa’s surprise was evident. Elowen, she thought, it’s one thing to feed me – I don’t mind your

drool – but offering it to your father with his fastidious ways? Isn’t that asking for rejection?

Anxious, Thalassa watched as Lysander’s icy demeanor softened, his eyes gazing at Elowen with a

depth that surprised her.
