Chapter 1197

“Next time you introduce her to the wrong crowd, I won’t be so lenient,” Lysander’s icy words hung in

the air as he strode with Thalassa towards his sleek black Rolls-Royce.

Thalassa was silent, her heart aching for Hertha as she cast a worried glance over her shoulder.

Hertha stood rooted to the spot, blinking in confusion as she watched Lysander and Thalassa’s

retreating figures.

What was Lysander implying? What did he mean by accusing her of bringing Thalassa into the wrong

crowd?

It was not like she had expected Carina to flag down their ride, pestering Thalassa like that..

“Damn, Lysander is one tough cookie,” Hertha mused to herself. “The guy doesn’t let anything slide,

does he?” But then again, seeing how fiercely protective he was of Thalassa, Hertha can’t help but feel

happy for her.

The revelation that Debby once tied Thalassa to a tombstone and tried to burn her alive was something

Thalassa had never shared with Hertha. Now, hearing the full story, Hertha felt a chill run down her

spine. Thank goodness Lysander had come to Thalassa’s rescue; otherwise, she might not have made

it.

Considering Lysander saved Thalassa, Hertha decided to let his threats slide this time. After watching

them get into the Rolls-Royce, she got into her own car, made a U-turn, and drove off.

Inside the Rolls-Royce.

Lysander sat in the driver’s seat while Thalassa occupied the passenger’s. She was stifled by his

overpowering presence, barely daring to breathe too loudly, let alone make any other move.

She sat rigid, eyes fixed straight ahead, until Lysander leaned over. His imposing shadow enveloped

her, and the familiar scent of his cologne sent her heart racing. She blinked, her body tensing in

anticipation of his next move.

But he merely reached for the seat belt and buckled her in. Only then did Thalassa realize she had

been sitting there, foolishly forgetting to strap herself in.

After securing her seat belt, Lysander clicked his own into place and started the car, driving off

smoothly onto the asphalt road. The atmosphere inside was so quiet it was almost haunting.

“Got nothing to say?” Lysander’s voice, deep and resonant, broke the silence.

Thalassa started, then turned to look at his profile-chiseled, handsome, and imposing.

Just one glance was enough to make her heart skip a beat, struck by both his authority and his allure.

After a moment, she managed a timid reply, “About what?”

Lysander kept his hands steady on the wheel, sparing her a glance. “About Debby’s sentence,” he

reminded her.

Understanding dawned on Thalassa. “Whatever the court decides is fine by me. I have no objections,

nor anything to add.”

“Hertha is right,” she continued, her voice growing stronger. “When Debby wanted me dead, she didn’t

think twice about my pain. Everyone must face the consequences of their actions.”

Lysander’s aura suddenly turned frosty, his voice dropping to a cold whisper, “She’s been introducing

you to men?”

Men?

Thalassa’s heart lurched in alarm, and she looked at Lysander in bewilderment.
