Chapter 1251

The documents Thalassa had to work on were for the new smartphone ad campaign for the Crawley

Group.

The latest smartphone needed a fresh ad campaign, and they were sticking with the same agency that

had nailed it last time.

That afternoon, Thalassa found herself at the agency’s headquarters, overseeing the shoot herself.

Thanks to the previous ad’s hit, the agency’s head honcho had a fair bit of faith in Thalassa’s

judgement, leaving the creative direction in her hands.

The gig this time required a model with faux wings, playing the part of an angel and ascending into the

sky with the phone in hand, capturing snapshots.

The pitch was catchy, “Lipo, crystal clarity no matter how high you soar. Snap your beauty from the

heavens, a celestial experience.”

Zane, the agency’s lead, laid out the shoot’s specifics to Thalassa, aiming to nail the

concept.

Thalassa nodded, “Sounds good. Roll with it. I’ve got to head back to the office this afternoon.”

“Come on, don’t bail on us. Without you here, we’ll be doing retakes for days. Stay until we wrap this

up, then you can jet,” a female voice chimed in.

Thalassa turned towards the sound and saw Susan sauntering in, backpack slung over her shoulder,

her hair in a high ponytail, chewing gum with a smirk on her lips.

Seeing Susan never did Thalassa any favors mood-wise. She smiled thinly, “Susan, that was quick. No

need for the heavy makeup anymore, I see.”

The jab hit home-Susan knew Thalassa was poking at their last encounter when she had slapped

Susan. Her face darkened, the gum suddenly tasteless. Spitting it out, she

hissed, “Disappointed, aren’t you? I’m still the lead here. I need Ms. Everhart’s guidance to ace this.”

Thalassa glanced at the discarded gum, still gleaming with Susan’s spite, as distasteful as the woman

herself.

“If Susan can’t cut it, we can always recast,” Thalassa’s voice was icy.

Kellan, sensing the tension thick enough to cut, stepped in to smooth things over, “Ms. Everhart, you

might not be aware, but we’re under contract with Susan. We can’t replace her just yet. Plus, the

Crawley Group has their input on the ad. You might as well stick around and make sure it’s done right.”

Thalassa shot Zane a look that said it all, “We’re all here to work, no need to grovel.” With that, she

headed to the set, dismissing Susan with her indifference.

Thalassa had always known how to separate personal grudges from professionalism.

Since the Crawley Group had their stakes in the ad, it made sense to stay on set. No need to let

Susan’s presence drive her away.

Susan watched Thalassa check the props, her expression a storm of envy and venom. Did Thalassa

think she was untouchable just because of Lysander’s backing?

What would she be without him?

“Stop dawdling, get to makeup. Let’s get this shoot moving,” Zane urged Susan, a stark contrast to his

earlier deference to Thalassa.

And that flip in attitude only fueled Susan’s bitterness even more.

She considered herself above Thalassa in every way, yet without someone to back her, she had to

swallow her pride quietly.

Susan was at her breaking point.

But with her finances in ruins, she had to earn a paycheck.

Biting back her rage, she strode towards the studio exit, where the makeup artist was waiting.

As Susan stepped out, a sleek black car pulled up-a Rolls Royce, as opulent as its owner. Had

Lysander arrived?
