Thalassa’s fear instantly dissipated upon seeing him. Her tears fell uncontrollably.

But then, Lysander came.

He remembered her fear of thunderstorms.
When she worked as a cleaner at the Sinclair Group, even the thunder reverberating through the rooms would scare her enough to jump into his arms.
Now they were out in the wilderness with wild monkeys and thunderstorms, so her fear must have doubled.
Thalassa, frail as she was, felt the warmth from his large hand gently stroking her back.
His hand, roughened with callouses, could spark a warmth on her chilled back even through the fabric. That warmed her body up.

She was the support for her kids and Evelyn, so if she showed signs of weakness, it would only put Evelyn and the kids in a more helpless situation.

His arms around her softened even further.

“Mr. Sinclair, you’re too fast. We couldn’t keep up,” David managed between gasps of breath. He only saw Lysander’s silhouette, not noticing Thalassa curled up in his arms. He gasped for air and managed
to get out a sentence.
Thalassa, startled by the voices, immediately straightened up from Lysander’s embrace, attempting to stand on her own.
Her muscles were overly taut after her extreme fear. Now she was relaxed and felt extremely weak.
Her legs wobbled, which nearly caused her to fall off the steps.
Lysander quickly scooped her back into his arms. His thick eyebrows furrowed, “Are you trying to get yourself killed?”
“I just lost my balance. It’s okay. I can stand,” Thalassa quickly wiped her tears. She was trying to stand on her own. She only got one leg supporting her weight.
Lysander noticed her swaying so his gaze fell onto her leg. She was standing on one foot and raised the other leg slightly. Her cropped jeans revealed her white leather shoes and her severely swollen ankle.
He furrowed his brows and swiftly lifted her into his arms.
Thalassa, who was taken aback, instinctively clung onto his neck. Seeing David and several bodyguards around, she felt embarrassed, “I just need someone to support me. I can walk on my own.”
“Don’t move!” Lysander commanded.
